Yeah, unfortunately "To Serve and Protect" will not be airing on Jan. 8, as originally thought. Instead, we will have to wait three more weeks for a new Roswell. I am not a happy camper. :( But at least, we're still getting new Roswells...

Dude, I bought eight of the books, and I plan to buy them all, because they're Roswell, but I will never, ever read them. Why? Because the books suck! I can't get over it! My biggest problem: Max is blond. My second biggest problem: Ulysses F. Olsen (UFO) High School--how cheesebally is that? For crying out loud! And the story itself, despite that it's creative, is just horribly written. An eight-year-old could have written the sentences. Plus, the story, although creative, is way too farfetched. It's just bizarre and totally bogus... My third biggest problem: If Liz is hispanic, why isn't her name Isabel???? Cuz Isabel is so the Spanish version of Liz. Her sister had a Spanish name--why wouldn't Liz? See, little things like this just contribute even more to the overall dumbness. And the whole aura and scent thing--I just can't stand that--it's so hoky. But, anyway, that's just my opinion. If you really like the show, don't read the books; they're just bad. And I know, since I haven't actually read the books, what right to I have to say this? But I've read enough of the books, just a few pages of each, to know that they are so not worth the read for people who like to read well-written, intelligent stories. But if you're all for trashy novels and the like, I say go for it--who am I to judge?

Oooh, what a stinging reply. The actual point of my e-mail was not which came first, but that the books are badly written. They're about as well-written as those Goosebumps books-remember those? When I read the first chapter of the first books, it so reminded me of the writing style of the Goosebumps books. And me finding the whole aura thing hoky has nothing to do with the show. If the show never existed, and I had just happened to pick up the first book, I still couldn't have read it--it's just way too cheesy. And I was just trying to be humorous, saying I had a problem with Max being blond, but apparently, I'm the only one who finds myself humorous--which really isn't news to me. Anyway, my point is, the books are bad because of the writing style and the cheesy little details inserted (ie UFO High), and I just can't stand that aura thing, but that's probably just me. So, hate me, call me stupid, I don't care. I am not ashamed of shelling out money for the books even though I don't wanna read them--I am compulsively obsessed with Roswell. And these are my opinions. I do realize that without the books there would be no show, but now that there is a show, there is really no need to read the books--IMHO (and a very humble opinion it is--believe me).
