  35. over there, as I understand all our favorite WB shows air at horrible times
  36. overseas. It's also nice to have interesting discussions on the list. It's
  37. been a little slow during the re-run season here, so mostly posts about the
  38. stars and such.

  41. win the award last night (Best Supporting Actor, I think) on the Teen Choice
  42. Awards? I caught some of the show, and the full cast presented an award to

  94. gosh for the first time since BTVS aired, i opted to watch the Teen Choice 
  95. Awards instead of a BTVS rerun.
  96. i was so thrilled to see the cast of Roswell presenting an award....
  97. ironically it was SMG (from BTVS) that won that award.
  98. i thought jason behr looked very *uncomfortable* there. i think that 
  99. Katherine Heigl wearing glasses was so cool. by wearing glasses she sent a 
  100. *message* out to all us young people.... you can be drop dead gorgeous and 
  101. still admit to an "imperfection."
  102. actually, i thought all of them looked rather uncomfortable there. but it 
  103. was so great to see them all together. <sniff>, so sorry that Brendan didn't 
  104. win an award.

  123. yours is the first sighting (pardon the pun) of the Roswell show overseas. i 
  124. have been telling all my *overseas* friends about this wonderful show .... 
  125. they have not heard of it. i am guessing that because of translation and not 
  126. sure if the show would be picked up for a second season.. it has not been 
  127. picked up by countries overseas.

  146. HI...I have not watched the awards yet but I did catch Roswell present (I
  147. taped the show so I will watch eventually). Anyway, did anyone think it was
  148. funny how Majandra was reading/lipping everyone's lines from the
  149. teleprompter (sp)? I saw her on the alma awards and she just does not make a
  150. great presenter in my opinion...oh well...maybe it just takes more practice.

  213. We got the first season on Sky (satellite and cable only, owned by Murdoch,
  214. the man who owns Fox) at 8pm on a Thursday evening. I missed the first
  215. couple of episodes because the clips they used to publicise the show didn't
  216. do it any favours - but I quickly got hooked once I'd tried it.

  218. What's surprised me since the series finished its run a while ago - when I
  219. started reading Melinda Metz's books - is how far the show's writers have
  220. taken the story line from hers. She's far more brutal with the villains,
  221. and allows Max and Liz's relationship to travel through some pretty
  222. difficult waters too. I think the biggest shock, though, was the freedom
  223. with which she introduces 'extra' aliens - and then kills them off! In the
  224. tv show Amy is an intruder, a threat to the stability of established
  225. relationships - but I'm not expecting to see her getting blasted away at
  226. the beginning of the next series, are you?

  230. I think Roswell's taken off pretty well here in the UK - I don't have any
  231. very strong evidence, but the shops who sell sci-fi goodies are all busy
  232. trying to find Roswell things to stock. A staff member in the nice one in
  233. Sheffield (where I live, in the centre of England) commented, when he saw
  234. my (bought on the internet from Power Star in NJ) Roswell t-shirt that I
  235. was risking my life wearing it in the shop - he knew several customers
  236. who'd happily kill me to get it! We don't have firm news yet that Sky are
  237. buying the new episodes, but I'm hoping that they're going to do their
  238. usual trick of repeating the first series first, so that I can get tapes
  239. made!

  241. I've bought Rites of Passage (my dvd player's chipped, so that I can watch
  242. discs from other regions, not just 'Europe') and quite enjoyed it - though
  243. judging by the hints in the director's commentary, it was nearly a much
  244. better film. It feels to me like the story doesn't quite come through
  245. clearly enough - it's a bit too buried in the moody pouting. The biggest
  246. disappointment was the turned-down sound track in the last of the 'deleted
  247. scenes' - Jason smiling was surprising enough, but actually singing, and
  248. looking as though he's enjoying himself? Wow!

  324. new girl in school. Isabel makes friends with her, and
  325. then weird things start to happen.

  327. This character has been a major source of angst for
  328. most fans.  It's a love/hate thing: you either like
  329. her because she brings a new bit of drama to the show,
  330. or you hate her because she threatens to disrupt the
  331. dynamic already established.  You should see the
  332. messages posted on the fanforum.com board sometime!

  570. and I can recommend them highly.

  572. The web site is a bit rickety - takes a while to download, and is smothered
  573. with warnings that the ordering system might not work for AOL users and
  574. others - it rarely works for me. But if you wait for all the images to
  575. download - despite the 'Roswell' URL, you actually get fed through a
  576. multi-choice gateway that you can't shortcut by bookmarking - the choice of
  577. Roswell merchandise is good. There are two nice t-shirts with screen
  578. printed photos and one navy blue one (with matching sweatshirt) that
  579. pretends to be 'property of W Roswell High' - slightly odd, perhaps? They
  580. keep all the Metz books, and have mugs, photos, keyrings and lots of other
  581. bits and pieces. They also have a very handy e-mail service, letting you
  582. know that something new has come in.
  583.  
  584. I would advise caution with the autographed photos: although I've been very
  585. pleased to have Jason's autograph here and there's no doubting its
  586. authenticity, its frame ('marbled' wood with golden bits and a 'brass'
  587. plaque) is horrendous and almost impossible to dismantle - and it cost a
  588. fortune to have posted.

  636. fan of Roswell from the start. I missed an episode or
  637. two when it changed from it's 8.30pm Monday time slot
  638. to it's 11.40pm Friday time slot. But I soon caught
  639. up. I reckon it deserves to stay on during prime time

  880.     I looked at the new cover of TEEN PEOPLE Magazine and saw "TV sneak 
  881. Peek-The best shows and hot new stars you'll love" and I look inside and see 
  882. that Roswell is on the 1st page and there is a huge 2-side picture of the 
  883. cast in the woods ( a very classy look).  the article also talks about all of 
  884. the 22,000 emails that were sent to keep Roswell on the air.

  887. fueled by higher ratings on a new night and 4,000 or so bottles of Tobasco 
  888. sauce mailed in to the WB as proof of its fans' devotion. (22,000 e-mails 
  889. sent via TEEN PEOPLE helped on the renewal front too). That loyalty will be 
  890. rewarded right away: In the 1st episode,"(the aliens) realize they're not 
  891. alone in Roswell," says Jason Katims, who hints that an established character 
  892. (but probably no one pictured here) will be in danger. So the game plan 
  893. that's evolved -- "to hit the sci-fi harder that the romance" as Nick 
  894. Weechsler puts it--won't change this fall. As for the Liz-Max-Tess triangle 
  895. of destiny versus desire, don't expect easy answers. "Liz and Max are going

  1014. I happened to watch Destiny over the weekend, along with Max to the Max and
  1015. Four Square. Oh, and the White Room. I'm glad you liked Destiny, but it
  1016. still seems to me that they probably put this episode together rather
  1017. hastily. With the quality of the last few shows that preceded it, I wonder
  1018. if the White Room was actually supposed to be the season finale. I think it
  1019. would have made a much better season finale (without the rescue), wondering
  1020. all summer if Max was going to be tortured to death. Destiny just seemed to
  1021. conveniently wrapped up -- like they really weren't certain if the show
  1022. would be renewed or not (which they didn't know until basically the last
  1023. minute).
