Hey Guys,
I thought I would share with you the one good pic I took of Jason when I
met him outside the Regis studios. He was nice enough to talk to us from the
car, in the pouring rain and just be so great! Enjoy! Seriously, he's way
better looking in person.

Kellygirl,
Yes, the pilot will be rerun this Monday the 29th.
The WB station out of Albuquerque is already running
the promo for it. I'm planning a small gathering of
people who I think would get hooked. :)

Hayley,
I think it was Every Mother's Nightmare(?), but I'm
really not positive. Basically it was about this girl
who gets abducted through the Internet and the chat
rooms she participates in. Brendan's part was very
small--the boyfriend who breaks up with the girl,
which is why she begins having these
cyber-relationships anyway.

Mike,
I've seen the books in all sorts of categories, but
they seem to fall under young adult more than
anything. I like the books quite a bit, mainly
because we see the characters actually being
teenagers, which has been missing from the show
lately.
On one of the message boards, someone mentioned how
nice it would be to see interaction between, say, Max
and Maria, and how they are friends, or Alex and
Michael hanging out together. The books give you
those situations and they are fun to read. Michael is
less of a loner and more willing to acknowledge how
important his human friends are to him. It becomes
the six of them against anything, and it takes ALL
SIX.
The mythology is very different though. No 'save the
homeworld' mandate or anything.
I've read that the books are being discontinued after
#10, so there goes my plan for entertaining myself
over the summer.

hi mike,
well i have read them all up to #7 - i am reading that one now. they are
short - it takes me less than a day to read them. they are fun, but i think
i only read them cuz they are "roswell" - i don't know if i would otherwise.
as was mentioned, it is nice to see them "as teenagers" - just hanging out
with their friends or whatever. way different storylines, tho, altho there
are parallels, sort of....i would definatly classify them as "young adult"
book category, and some of the stuff in the story gets really kind of corny,
but it is still fun, and passes the time between roswell eps on tv. well,
that's my 2 cents....

there are eight out now, #8 being my one of my current favs. The first one
originally came out in October of '98 and that was when I got hooked. The
show has always been an added bonus to the books that I fell in love with.
They are classified under Young Adult, but I'm a college student and would be
reading them even if I were older. I got several people hooked on them my
senior year of high school as well as my sister who hates everything that I
like...she's 14. They are very different from the show due to the fact that
the show was only based off of an early draft of book #1. The original Pilot
script was very much like book #1 with some differences and a different
ending. But, I would recommend reading them, at least give #1 a try. The
character relationships are a lot different...all six truely are friends with
all of the others.

Thanks, everyone, for the info -- and the interesting tidbits. If the show
was based on a draft of the original book, then someone at the book agency
must have been in cahoots with someone in Hollywood, and thought the book(s)
would make a good TV show (or something.)
I also imagine that the show, perhaps like the novel, never intended to go
into the whole 'save the world' scenario either. It just seems a little
cheesy to me. I hope we still see more of the parents next year, and follow
through on the Valenti/Amy relationship as well as give us closure on the
Max/Liz being out all night ordeal. Or at least throw us a bone... ;)
Anyhoo, I'll at least pick up one book and let you know what I think. :)

Subject: [roswell] New WB Video
Hi everyone!
I dont know if any of you have seen the promotional video for the WB called
"The Faces of The WB"? Well they aired it at the beginning of this past
season I think, and it had a a bunch of the WB stars running around and
posing, all to a song called Crawl. Well on Wednesday at 8pm, during
Dawson's Creek they are going to air a brand new video, featuring all the
stars of the WB prime-time. The video is supposed to be 3 minutes long. For
more info check out the WB website at thewb.com
Just wanted to let you all know, even if you dont watch Dawsons Creek maybe
just to tape it and fast forward to the video.
Anyway

last night eppie was the pilot, which is so awesome.
the next eppie is going to be "the morning after". sorry , that is the
extent of my knowledge of summer reruns.
does anyone else know the other eppies that are going to be shown?
hooray for me, i have a convert to the show, cuz she watched the pilot last
night . she had sooo many questions and i was like smiling and closed
mouth...i just hope that the reruns will be shown in some sort of
consecutive order that the show will make some sort of sense for her.

I don't know exact dates, but I'm pretty sure not
until October. With the summer Olympics being NBC's
baby and a guaranteed audience, the other networks
complained that NBC had an unfair ratings advantage if
the season started at its normal time. I think the
end result was that everybody (except NBC of course)
agreed to start the season after the final Olympics
broadcast.
So our dry spell is going to last much longer than
normal. Damn those athletes! :)
