Subject: Re: GH/PC: Lucky & Liz
The part that annoys me about the Lucky/Liz situation is that Audrey
hasn't called the police. She is being a complete idiot about Liz's rape
but she is right about Liz & Lucky are too young to be living on the
street. I can understand the Spencers because they aren't a normal family
and poor Lucky never had to live a normal life. However, Audrey keeps
saying the right things but never has taken any actions. She is right if
anything happens to Liz, Liz's parents would kill her. This is the most
stupid part. She refuses to take any actions of this matter. They are
ruining the character of Audrey.

If Audrey would have called the police, Liz would just runaway again,
this time, probably not keeping in touch. It was a no win situation. And
for ruining Audrey's character, she hasn't had a storyline since 1970
something, so I don't think it would be ruining her character at all,
this is giving her depth....finally! Laura's the only one who seems to
have any backbone in this story right now, but that's only because she's
been outta the picture for a year & is virtually clueless as to what's
been going on. I can't believe that Laura still hasn't seen Nikolas yet
and spoken to him about the shooting!!!!!! Don't y'all think there's so
much story for Laura right now, they don't know what direction to go in?

Firstly, maybe she would run away again but I doubt she would leave town.
Besides if they did Luke and Laura would be involved and probably find
them before they could get into any trouble. Luke is still the master.
Audrey is stupid to be blackmailed by a 15 year old child. This whole
story annoys me totally. I prefer seeing Carly/Bobbie/Jason. As for the
Laura story, I completely agree she has so much to catch up on Nicholaus,
Stefan, Luke, Lucky, Bobbie/Carly does she know or care? I am so glad
Laura is back.

I have to disagree w/this one. Remember, LUKE, & yeah he is the master
(but hasn't his face looked gaunt lately?) but HE taught Lucky how to
hide out & get away w/out anyone knowing anything. And Lucky COULD
already of left town, if not for Liz & Luke would be no wiser, he's
clueless know as to where he's hiding out....remember he keeps calling
Audrey & asking if Liz called.
< I prefer seeing Carly/Bobbie/Jason.
This once great storyline, IMHO, that it hit its peak (except for the
paternity of Michael), but I can't believe they're going to make Carly
battle it out St. Robin over Jason. That's where I think that story's
heading. What happened to the sniping w/Bobbie & Carly? Bobbie seemed to
ACCEPT Carly a little bit too soon for me, especially since we waited SO
LONG for the other shoe to drop.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree about this. But I agree Luke has
been looking gaunt lately. This concerns me a little because he isn't
exactly a spring chicken. Besides last time I noticed an actor not
looking so good was Michael Zaslow and look what has happened to him.
As for the Carly/Jason storyline, I think it is probably ending because
the spoilers say that the paternity is coming out soon. As for the story
with Bobbie and Carly. I like it because Bobbie is showing compassion
which is a strong trait of hers and because she has had a connection to
Carly before she knew the whole story. Besides when she came by the day
of the anniversary of B.J.'s many of the things Bobbie told her were right
on the money. I think that Bobbie is supporting Carly now because she
needs her just like she has "forgiven" Luke. However, remember when she
confronted Luke about the situation she gave a Thanksgiving scenerio where
she said Luke would think everything was okay and forgotten but that would
never happen. Bobbie still carries around a lot of anger towards those
two however they are both in times of crisis and this is not the time to
deal with her emotions. Afterall, it took about 20 years for Luke and
Laura to start to deal with the rape.

i completely disagree. remember the lucky and emily storyline, YEARS
ago, when lucky was even younger? lucky was completely capable of
keeping a step ahead of luke and laura then, and only letting them catch

Okay, I have this capacity to ignore history which makes no sense or that

recollection of. I found that story so idiotic, Lucky could outwit his
parents for that long. Give me a break.
As for your solution for the Lucky/Liz story, I agree 1000%. I think Luke
might have even left Lucky alone at Audrey's house.

Audrey can't deal w/it herself, so therefore, SHE can't help Lizzie at
all. I just love the compassion that they're playing out w/Lucky

Just finished Thursday's episode of GH and gotta say how much I enjoy
this darker Tony as opposed to the sappy Tony of oh-so-many years past.
That Alan was the one to give Tony the bad news concerning his hand was
perfect - here are two physicians, one the drug addict the other a
kidnapper (both with God complexes) confronting each other. I had to
chuckle when Monica walked in and Tony asked her, "How is it up there
with your head in the clouds?"

surprise, surprise, but i'm going to leap to his defense here! :)
i saw the interview, and i didn't get that impression at all. he struck me
as someone whose tendency is to be quiet and private, but who became
overwhelmed by the phenomenon that is sonny, and still hasn't quite
adapted to it. i think the only reason he was so pro-sonny (the character)
is because he knew his audience, and what they wanted to hear. i don't
think he really believes that sonny is the pinnacle of his career, and the
best character he could ever hope to play, or else why would he have
left gh?
i was disappointed in the INTERVIEW, because it didn't really TELL us
anything, but i wasn't disappointed in HIM...
julie
>>
I know this is a little old, but I'm very far behind, and just catching up
with mail. I did want to add two cents about Maurice.
I think he is the last person I would think of as being stuck on himself. I
was fortunate enough to meet him while touring the set last year. He was
almost painfully shy, and very sweet.
I think he has been totally taken aback by the popularity of Sonny and Brenda
as well. It almost surprises him that people know who he is and enjoy his
work.
We met him while the ABC Daytime to Remember shows were on. Here's how my
friend described the meeting:
******************************************************************************
******************
After lunch, in the hall containing the dressing rooms, Wally spotted a pal of
his. "You guys want to meet Maurice?" he asked. (Duh!)
Maurice was wearing one of Sonny's Armani suits, brown with an olive shirt.
He is as short as reported, about 5'6" and was clean-shaven that day. He was
very pleasant (gave us that smile) and seemed happy to meet us, but is
painfully shy. He had an expression like, "I really want to say something,
but I just can't think of a single thing."
After babbling about his work on GH, inspiration came to me. I inquired if I
could ask him a question. He hesitated only slightly, probably thinking "Here
comes the Sonny&Brenda question" but said "Sure."
What I asked was how he felt about "Daytime to Remember" rerunning a couple of
his Nico Kelly episodes from AMC. Honestly, he lit up like the proverbial
Christmas tree, responding, "They are? Really? Did they already show them?"
I told him that they were going to be on April 14 and 15, and he said he'd
have to be sure to tape them. He eagerly asked if they were Nico and Cecily
episodes (they were a hot-tempered couple who were great at comic squabbling
and making up) and was surprised to learn that it was Nico and Julie instead.
Wally was completely lost here, and Anne explained that Julie was played by
Lauren Holly which was probably the reason those episodes were chosen.
Maurice said to Wally, "But Nico and Cecily were really popular" in an excited
but almost humble way, as though he were a newcomer and Wally the old pro.
Then he looked at Anne and me and asked, "We were, weren't we?" What a guy!!!
Here he is, the hottest man on TV, the center of daytime's most passionate
love story, and he doesn't have a conceited bone in his body.
Maurice answered my question directly, "I guess I'll be a little ashamed of
the acting." Then he ran his hand lightly over the top of his head, admitting,
"And I had a little more hair then." Then he laughed.
******************************************************************************
******************
I really thought he was one of the most down to earth and genuine GH stars I
met. Then again almost all of them were wonderful.....

THURSDAY, June 4
Lucky and Liz were taken to the police,
who called Luke and Audrey. Luke confronted Lucky
for what he had said to Laura, but Lucky had no
regrets and made it clear that Luke and Laura were in
no position to lecture him about anything. As a
result, Lucky was even more resistant to returning
home now that Laura was back. Meanwhile,
Elizabeth honored her deal with Sarah and returned
home. Audrey laid down new ground rules with Liz,
but promised to make a better effort at understanding
her situation. Liz then told Lucky that she was
staying home and asked him not to go far. Sonny
made a cryptic call to Jason about Carlos and urged
him to leave town and meet with him. Carly allowed
Jason to take Michael with him. Robin realized that
Jason was going to see Sonny but did not press for
details. Tony learned from Alan that the damage
suffered to his hand was so severe that it might end
his career as a neurosurgeon. Tony then scoffed at
Alan's advice by making it clear that he was in no
mood to listen to a drug addict. After Bobbie refused
his request to see Lucas, Tony made a deal with
Luke where he would spy on Helena if Luke could
arrange for him to see Lucas. Monica again accused
Alan of having an affair with Amy but he claimed that
Amy simply had a crush on him. Still thrown by
Katherine's death, Mac and Felicia found a way to
spend some no-pressure time together.
What's Coming Friday.......
Laura tells Nikolas her side of the rape. Jerry is
attacked! Will Carly accept AJ's sympathy?
***
V is playing matchmaker, by the way. She wants Felicia and
Mac to go through with the wedding.

I dunno. I'm kind of holding my breath, waiting for
something interesting to happen. But V was on, and Justus
is back, so that was cool. Mac, Felicia, and V had an
interesting conversation--after Katherine's memorial
service, they don't believe that Stefan killed her.
However, they don't think that Luke would have loosened the
railing, just hoping for a random Cassadine to fall. So
they're stumped <g>.
>but did Lucky go back home or what?
Nope. Luke is *really* frustrated. And Bobbie is pissed
that Luke is even talking to Tony, so I imagine she won't
be thrilled when she finds out about their new arrangement.

He wasn't under arrest. Taggart called Luke and Audrey to
take their respective wards home. Luke and Lucky fought,
then Lucky took off. He went by Audrey's to pick up Liz,
but Liz told him that she'd decided to stick around with
her grandmother. So he took off again.

Subject: GH/PC: What Really Happened When Sonny Came Home
Again, I'm a little late, but I thought everyone would enjoy this write up by
a friend of mine in response to Sonny's return:
Someone wrote:

>most part it has been ok, but I didn't like the way he reacted to the news
>about Brenda. I don't know what it was, but it just didn't feel right to

Someone replied:
>> Well, Sonny's reaction was very contained, but that is just very Sonny. He
always (well, at least almost always) plays things like that really close
to the vest.
>>
This is what my friend wrote about the same situation. I might add totally
independently, in other words nothing was forwarded to her from this list or
anything like that. This was to our own smaller group. Anyway here goes:
******************************************************************************
******************
Yes it's true. I'm upset with Sonny.
He comes in. Hugs Robin. Hugs Jason. Plays with the kid. Gets freaked and
furious because ROBIN was held captive. Looks fierce like he's going to take
Tony Jones out himself. Make cappuchino. Or does he make dinner first? He
talks about his new place. Talks about his employees etc... blah blah blah.
Robin tells him about Brenda. He acts shocked but not freaked. Acts like
he's happy she's in love with Jax. Mentions liver lips name (YUCK) blah blah
blah and more blah. Tells Robin he loves her. Tells Jason not to tell Bren
the truth. Some more blah blah blah.
THAT IS NOT THE WAY IT WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE HAPPENED.
Here's the REAL way it happened. All that stuff we watched today was fake
except for the expressions on his face. So, forget that dialogue. Here is
what was REALLY said.
Jason opens the door.
J: Sonny!
S: Where's Brenda?
R: Sonny? You're here!
S: Robin, tell me where Brenda is.
J: There are some things you need to know ...
S: Know? There's something I need to know? Has something happened to
Brenda?
R: Sit down Sonny.
S: NO! Tell me now. ... (he sees the baby) ... Who is that? (his eyes jump
with excitement)
J: That's Michael ....
S: WHAT? Did Brenda have....?
J: No! That's my son.
(Sonny is crestfallen and devastated)
S: I thought ... I mean, sometimes I imagined Brenda and ..... (he tries to
pull himself together) What were you going to tell me about Brenda?
R: Brenda was devastated when you left her at the altar. She pretended she
was OK, but she wasn't. She had lost the love of her life so her life meant
nothing to her.
- ---Sonny sits on the couch while Robin continues ---
R: Her business manager stole all her money and her loneliness and despair
was too much. She had a breakdown. She destroyed the Jax cosmetic set and
had to be taken away in restraints. Jax got her out for Christmas, but she
couldn't be left alone so he asked me to stay with her. She was paranoid and
not living in reality, it was horrible. (Sonny looks stricken and upset. He
realizes it was ALL HIS FAULT AND HE NEEDS TO FIX IT. Robin continues ...)
but eventually she picked herself up and pulled herself together.
S: How?
R: She decided to live again. She didn't know why you would make love to her
one night and talk about your future together and a few hours later ditch
her. But she decided to move on. A better and stronger person. Somehow I
think she figured out why you did it. And somehow understood.
S: Where is she?
R: She's in Malibu. With Jax.
S: (his eyes are blazing). I knew it wouldn't be long before Jax moved in on
my woman.
R: That's not fair Sonny. Brenda mourned you, month after month after month.
But when it was obvious you were never coming back and fix this mess you made,
Brenda decided to move on with her life. Jax was with her the entire time she
suffered. After a while, she fell in love with him again. She tried to
convince Jax to marry her again but he said no. He didn't want to be second
choice.
S: Then why is he in Malibu with her?
R: Because he's in love with her. No matter what. He realized he can't live
without her. He figured that out when she and Jason were in that plane crash
and ...
S: WHAT???????
J: Calm down. We're OK. She reinjured her hip, but we survived. We talked
about you some. She told me about the wire. You know, Sonny, I never
realized that she thought she was trying to protect you. It was misguided and
stupid, but in her mind, she was protecting you. Much like you were trying to
protect her.
- ---Sonny is really looking miserable now---
R: Sonny, you left her. You left her at the alter. She built her life
around you. She was willing to give up everything for you and you devastated
her. Jax was there for her from the beginning. He helped her through the
humiliation she felt after you jilted her. He helped her through the
breakdown. Jax is the one that has been there for her during the hard times.
Not you. It's only natural she turned to him. And it's inevitable they'll
reunite. And probably get married. Brenda needs to be loved. She needs to
be in a committed relationship. If Jax offers, she's going to take it.
S: Not if I have anything to say about it.
R: I don't want to hurt you, Sonny, but you have to stay away from her.
She's been through too much. She's just now getting her life back together
again.
S: Brenda and I belong together. I never knew how much until I left. It's
true, I thought I was protecting her, but ... that's the REAL reason I came
back. Not because of Carlos. But because I'm going to reclaim Brenda.
J: Do you think that's a good idea?
S: (Sonny has that look on his face like the time he was listening to
Brenda's answering machine message over and over again while they played "I've
got a spell on you".) Brenda's in my blood. I'm back. And I'm going to get
what's mine.

What do you think, is that more like it?

Well, I know that if that had happened, I would have been PISSED.
And not as though anyone could EVER mistake me for a Jax and Brenda fan,
but if Sonny had come back to town with THAT as his primary objective, I
would have volunteered to hold him while Jax beat the crap out of him.
And then I would have done the same to Guza for what that would have done
to Sonny.
I think what is wrong with that whole scenario is that, when it comes to
Brenda, Sonny's feelings are too complex. Yes, he loves her. But, IMO,
part of him fears, resents, and maybe even hates her. And no matter what,
he still doesn't trust her.
Jason and Robin are safe. Brenda never was, and that's why it was always
so much harder for him to be emotionally open and honest with her than it
was with anyone else.
Of all of the characters involved, Sonny is the one I love the best, and,
IMO, that scenario would have been totally and painfully out of character
for him.
And, FWIW, I think he was devestated by the news of what happened to
Brenda. He just handled it the same way he handled Stone's death:
silently. I think that's how we know when something touches him that
deeply -- he can't articulate it.
