  31.     I was watching the other day with one of my friends and they were
  32. noticing the way Alan takes his pills- head thrown back, water etc.  For
  33. someone who supposedly is popping pills all day long he sure makes a big
  34. deal about it!  My apologies if this has been talked about before, when
  35. the storyline first started, but I have to take medicine everyday, and I
  36. don't even need water anymore-someone else I know who has chronic
  37. headaches, same thing- you get so used to it you just take them-- well,
  38. I think this could be voted most unimportant post of the week :)  Just
  39. something I noticed--

  62. especially his wife. Poor acting I think on Stuart's part. But he's not
  63. looking too hot these days. Originally they said he was to lose weight

  103.  
  104.     I know that we talked about this before, but I think that now we are
  105. definately seeing that Liz's teacher, Murty?, is being set up as the
  106. attacker-- (so I am not going to put spoiler space- hope that's okay,
  107. since I won't talk about anything that hasn't happened.)  I am not
  108. entirely sure how I feel about this, but as an educator myself, I am
  109. currently feeling like it is a cheap shot for drama's sake.  Of course,
  110. I can only speak for myself, but to set up the teacher as someone trying
  111. to help Liz, someone who can understand kids and is supposedly an
  112. excellent teacher-- to then turn around and make that person an
  113. attacker, emotionally and physically, of the student he has been shown
  114. to help?  It just astounds me that someone thought this was a good
  115. idea.  Again, because I teach, I admit that I am most likely unable to
  116. view this situation w/o bias, but I have seen teachers who change
  117. children's lives, who give them support and respect they may not get
  118. from any other source, who love to teach and are certainly not there for
  119. financial reward.  I remember how much I respected and looked up to the
  120. majority of my teachers-- I am still young myself! I am not saying there
  121. are not teachers who harm students, because unfortunately that does
  122. happen.  Maybe Guza is trying to show that no one can be trusted not to
  123. harm you, that you have to watch out for everyone?  Especially because
  124. Liz and Lucky are young, and therefore are more likely to attract a
  125. younger audience, I wonder about the wisdom of this choice.  It just
  126. seems unfair to paint this picture when there are so many people trying
  127. to help children of all ages.   Again, just my feelings right now-- does
  128. anyone else have any feeling on this now that it is a little more than
  129. speculation that he may be the one?  Am I the only one who feels this
  130. way?  Sorry for my inarticulateness, (not enough sleep today) but
  131. hopefully I didn't offend anyone...

  147. No, you're not.  We had this discussion a couple weeks
  148. back, and a few of us felt the same way.  I, in particular,
  149. am disappointed--making the teacher a sexual predator is a
  150. cheap way to play on parental fears.  I tend to expect
  151. better of Guza (silly me).

  153. My only consolation is that perhaps Liz will get some
  154. closure on this story.

  157. wonderful job with that triumphant, annoying smile in the
  158. courtroom on Friday/Monday.  He looked so smug and
  159. frightening that I wanted to smack him.  Kudos to both BM
  160. and Sarah Brown for their performances.

  224. I know that I actually almost LIKE Jax when he's with V, and I certainly
  225. did enjoy V's dinner with Ned.  I wish they'd let her move around the
  226. canvas a bit and see who she clicks with.

  228. It took TPTB a long time, and that hokey dream sequence of Brenda in the
  229. bathtub, before they managed to realize the potential of the Sonny/Brenda
  230. pairing.  Maybe they should mix things up a bit and let them play out.

  232. V rocks, though, and as long as she gets to do SOMETHING I almost don't
  233. care who they pair her with... for now, anyway.

  255. Laura, he didn't drag a 15 year old off a park bench, beat the tar out of
  256. her and rape her in the bushes.

  261. back and undo Luke raping Laura.

  263. I just think it's a really crappy way to take this storyline.  Ever since
  264. people started recognizing and defining rape to include acquaintance/date
  265. rape, soaps have REALLY gotten hung up on that.  And yes, that is the kind
  266. that happens most often, but this storyline from the outset was set up to
  267. be different than that.

  272. impressive when the chances of Liz ever actually finding her attacker were
  273. non-existant.  Having to get on with her life and accept the fact that she
  274. would never know who it was, or why he did it, much less ever see him
  275. punished for it, made the story MUCH more powerful, IMO.

  295. Guza did a call in interview with Cindi Rinehart of NW Afternoon
  296. today.  Most of what he said wasn't terribly exciting, but he did
  297. imply something rather odd.  When Cindi said something about how the
  298. possibilities are limited with Sonny only being back for a few
  299. episodes, Guza interupted her with "Well, you never know......"  She
  300. said, "What do you mean - is he coming back for good?" and he said,
  301. "Anything is possible, don't count anything out."
  302.  
  303. Now, personally, I found this to be rather annoying, as Maurice
  304. Bernard has said in no uncertain terms that he is not interested in
  305. coming back for real.  Sure money talks and he could change his mind,
  306. but this sure felt like a tease to make us hope and tune in during
  307. sweeps.  What's everyone else think??

  310. If you blinked, you might have missed it!! LOL!!  They didn't appear
  311. to have any reason to be on, other than to be adorable, but it was
  312. kinda nice to see them anyway.  Is it just me or is Tony Geary getting
  313. more adorable each year???  He's not conventionally handsome, but it's
  314. like his personality and sense of humor make him very attractive and
  315. even sexy.  Dunno...maybe I'm just weird! :)

  317. And as for V -- how 'bout Ned???  That scene the other day when she
  318. saw right through him was a kick and it looks like he won't be doing
  319. the horizontal limbo with Alexis again any time soon.....might be fun!

  321. Last comment -- Murty.  I agree that it's a cheap shot and it was a
  322. more powerful story when we didn't know who the assailant was, but at
  323. least they're showing a pattern of abuse instead of making it look
  324. like this good teacher *suddenly* freaked out and started attacking
  325. students.  Then again, I suppose the idea of a teacher with a record
  326. of abuse isn't a whole lot better.....never mind, it's a story without
  327. any up side whatsoever!!!  LOL!

  368. As I said the last time this discussion came up, I saw them hinting around Mr.
  369. Murty  from day 1.  The first time Lizzie left the house after the rape and
  370. was in Kelly's he ws looking at her in a way that made her uncomfortable. She
  371. even mentioned it to Lucky, and discounted it as just being nervous about
  372. everyone.  There were a few more scenes that made me believe he was the most
  373. likely suspect as well but I can't remember them now.
  374.  
  375. So whether or not people agree that the teacher should or should not be the
  376. rapist, I'm nearly positive that this is the way they meant it to play out
  377. from the beginning.   I think the rewrite would be to take the teacher off the
  378. hook.

  381. powerful though.

  383. I also think it is only slightly different what Luke did and what this rapist
  384. did.  The main difference being that Laura knew all along that Luke raped her,
  385. and Lizzie didn't know at first(or maybe still hasn't totally figured it out
  386. - -- I'm a little behind).

  412.     Thank you for putting into words what I was thinking-- and I have a
  413. question about the liz/lucky relationship before the attack: I watched
  414. rather sporadically the last year or so, maybe once a month, (I know,
  415. what was I thinking? Luckily, I have seen the light) and it seemed that
  416. Liz liked Lucky but he was not interested in her?  Until she was
  417. attacked that is. If this is the case (and PLEASE correct me and give me
  418. background if it is not!), then this has been lurkingly bothering me-
  419. that Lucky would not be with Liz unless she was attacked- sort of
  420. reinforcing the idea of female neediness (which I think is justified--
  421. in this scenario she DID need somebody) but I guess I would have liked
  422. it better if Lucky had been interested in her BEFORE this happened, and
  423. was there for her when she needed him.  Does this make any sense?  In
  424. fact, around this time was when I began watching regularly, and I
  425. thought that Liz made up the story to get Lucky to notice her, to get
  426. his sympathy.  Although I can now see this is NOT the case, I am still
  427. kind of bothered by this negative reinforcement, if you will.  But, as I
  428. said, I do NOT know the whole back story to this, so if someone could
  429. let me know if I am way off base here, I would appreciate it. :)

  448. time he seemed to really care about Liz. I think Lucky became friends
  449. w/Liz 1st, cuz he was just lusting after Sarah (WHY????). This is
  450. becoming such a great story, but like everybody else, the thought of Mr.
  451. Murty being the rapist bothers me a bit. But, I think there would be no
  452. closure, ever for Liz if she never found out who the rapist is. I think
  453. Laura will play heavily in her "recovery" on this!

  520. epitomized for me why lately she irritates the heck out of
  521. me.  Not only did she think that asking Tony to promise

  523. but she truly believed that Tony would just see the light.

  557. something I had not thought of!  The woman Lucky is having a problem
  558. with as far as not having told him the whole story, being the one able

  583. Which one? Robin w/Nik or Sarah. Either one is gross to me! I loved
  584. Tyler being just Nik, but he's got no chemistry whatsoever w/these
  585. people. The only good scenes he's had is the one w/Brenda (Vanessa, his
  586. fiance). He's great as the Cassadine "bastard", but no love interest
  587. whatsoever!
