As much as I love to hate the character of Carly :), Sarah Brown did an
exceptional job with these scenes-- I forgot about everything she has
ever done to tick off everyone and I felt horrible for her! She was
phenomenal yesterday--
I was watching the other day with one of my friends and they were
noticing the way Alan takes his pills- head thrown back, water etc. For
someone who supposedly is popping pills all day long he sure makes a big
deal about it! My apologies if this has been talked about before, when
the storyline first started, but I have to take medicine everyday, and I
don't even need water anymore-someone else I know who has chronic
headaches, same thing- you get so used to it you just take them-- well,
I think this could be voted most unimportant post of the week :) Just
something I noticed--

Yeah, HELLO! Taggart notices this and every doctor in GH has no clue,
especially his wife. Poor acting I think on Stuart's part. But he's not
looking too hot these days. Originally they said he was to lose weight
to look the part. Does ANYONE think he looks thinner??

Well, we tried to make it through two weeks worth of GH and PC this
weekend. Didn't QUITE make it, but I'm ALMOST caught up.
About the only comment I have at the moment is about V.
YAY!!!!
Maybe now that she's working for Mac she'll actually have some STORYLINE!

Subject: GH/PC: About Liz/Lucky/the teacher--
Hello all-
I know that we talked about this before, but I think that now we are
definately seeing that Liz's teacher, Murty?, is being set up as the
attacker-- (so I am not going to put spoiler space- hope that's okay,
since I won't talk about anything that hasn't happened.) I am not
entirely sure how I feel about this, but as an educator myself, I am
currently feeling like it is a cheap shot for drama's sake. Of course,
I can only speak for myself, but to set up the teacher as someone trying
to help Liz, someone who can understand kids and is supposedly an
excellent teacher-- to then turn around and make that person an
attacker, emotionally and physically, of the student he has been shown
to help? It just astounds me that someone thought this was a good
idea. Again, because I teach, I admit that I am most likely unable to
view this situation w/o bias, but I have seen teachers who change
children's lives, who give them support and respect they may not get
from any other source, who love to teach and are certainly not there for
financial reward. I remember how much I respected and looked up to the
majority of my teachers-- I am still young myself! I am not saying there
are not teachers who harm students, because unfortunately that does
happen. Maybe Guza is trying to show that no one can be trusted not to
harm you, that you have to watch out for everyone? Especially because
Liz and Lucky are young, and therefore are more likely to attract a
younger audience, I wonder about the wisdom of this choice. It just
seems unfair to paint this picture when there are so many people trying
to help children of all ages. Again, just my feelings right now-- does
anyone else have any feeling on this now that it is a little more than
speculation that he may be the one? Am I the only one who feels this
way? Sorry for my inarticulateness, (not enough sleep today) but
hopefully I didn't offend anyone...

No, you're not. We had this discussion a couple weeks
back, and a few of us felt the same way. I, in particular,
am disappointed--making the teacher a sexual predator is a
cheap way to play on parental fears. I tend to expect
better of Guza (silly me).
My only consolation is that perhaps Liz will get some
closure on this story.
In another, unrelated, reflection.... Brad Maule did a
wonderful job with that triumphant, annoying smile in the
courtroom on Friday/Monday. He looked so smug and
frightening that I wanted to smack him. Kudos to both BM
and Sarah Brown for their performances.

I was definitely sure in the beginning that Murty was at fault & still
am wavering on whether he has anything to do w/it. (But after
yesterday's episode where Lucky & Liz found out about his
ex-wife.....ugh, oh...there's the story I think). I'm not looking

Well, I agree with the Mac and Felicia part, but I'm not so sure about mac
and V.
I know that I actually almost LIKE Jax when he's with V, and I certainly
did enjoy V's dinner with Ned. I wish they'd let her move around the
canvas a bit and see who she clicks with.
It took TPTB a long time, and that hokey dream sequence of Brenda in the
bathtub, before they managed to realize the potential of the Sonny/Brenda
pairing. Maybe they should mix things up a bit and let them play out.
V rocks, though, and as long as she gets to do SOMETHING I almost don't
care who they pair her with... for now, anyway.

Not quite the same thing, though. No matter what happened between Luke and
Laura, he didn't drag a 15 year old off a park bench, beat the tar out of
her and rape her in the bushes.
Not that what he did was really any "better" -- but it's still very different.
Besides, more than a few people (especially TPTB) whished they could go
back and undo Luke raping Laura.
I just think it's a really crappy way to take this storyline. Ever since
people started recognizing and defining rape to include acquaintance/date
rape, soaps have REALLY gotten hung up on that. And yes, that is the kind
that happens most often, but this storyline from the outset was set up to
be different than that.
And I feel very cheated at them going back and re-wriitng history now.
I thought the story was MUCH more solid and powerful and brave and
impressive when the chances of Liz ever actually finding her attacker were
non-existant. Having to get on with her life and accept the fact that she
would never know who it was, or why he did it, much less ever see him
punished for it, made the story MUCH more powerful, IMO.
This feels like a huge cop-out.

Subject: GH/PC: Guza on NW Afternoon
Hi all...
Guza did a call in interview with Cindi Rinehart of NW Afternoon
today. Most of what he said wasn't terribly exciting, but he did
imply something rather odd. When Cindi said something about how the
possibilities are limited with Sonny only being back for a few
episodes, Guza interupted her with "Well, you never know......" She
said, "What do you mean - is he coming back for good?" and he said,
"Anything is possible, don't count anything out."
Now, personally, I found this to be rather annoying, as Maurice
Bernard has said in no uncertain terms that he is not interested in
coming back for real. Sure money talks and he could change his mind,
but this sure felt like a tease to make us hope and tune in during
sweeps. What's everyone else think??
Also, anyone see Luke, Lucky and Scotty on The View this morning???
If you blinked, you might have missed it!! LOL!! They didn't appear
to have any reason to be on, other than to be adorable, but it was
kinda nice to see them anyway. Is it just me or is Tony Geary getting
more adorable each year??? He's not conventionally handsome, but it's
like his personality and sense of humor make him very attractive and
even sexy. Dunno...maybe I'm just weird! :)
And as for V -- how 'bout Ned??? That scene the other day when she
saw right through him was a kick and it looks like he won't be doing
the horizontal limbo with Alexis again any time soon.....might be fun!
Last comment -- Murty. I agree that it's a cheap shot and it was a
more powerful story when we didn't know who the assailant was, but at
least they're showing a pattern of abuse instead of making it look
like this good teacher *suddenly* freaked out and started attacking
students. Then again, I suppose the idea of a teacher with a record
of abuse isn't a whole lot better.....never mind, it's a story without
any up side whatsoever!!! LOL!
That's all my inane ramblings for today....

As I said the last time this discussion came up, I saw them hinting around Mr.
Murty from day 1. The first time Lizzie left the house after the rape and
was in Kelly's he ws looking at her in a way that made her uncomfortable. She
even mentioned it to Lucky, and discounted it as just being nervous about
everyone. There were a few more scenes that made me believe he was the most
likely suspect as well but I can't remember them now.
So whether or not people agree that the teacher should or should not be the
rapist, I'm nearly positive that this is the way they meant it to play out
from the beginning. I think the rewrite would be to take the teacher off the
hook.
You're probably right that not ever finding out would have made the story more
powerful though.
I also think it is only slightly different what Luke did and what this rapist
did. The main difference being that Laura knew all along that Luke raped her,
and Lizzie didn't know at first(or maybe still hasn't totally figured it out
- -- I'm a little behind).

Thank you for putting into words what I was thinking-- and I have a
question about the liz/lucky relationship before the attack: I watched
rather sporadically the last year or so, maybe once a month, (I know,
what was I thinking? Luckily, I have seen the light) and it seemed that
Liz liked Lucky but he was not interested in her? Until she was
attacked that is. If this is the case (and PLEASE correct me and give me
background if it is not!), then this has been lurkingly bothering me-
that Lucky would not be with Liz unless she was attacked- sort of
reinforcing the idea of female neediness (which I think is justified--
in this scenario she DID need somebody) but I guess I would have liked
it better if Lucky had been interested in her BEFORE this happened, and
was there for her when she needed him. Does this make any sense? In
fact, around this time was when I began watching regularly, and I
thought that Liz made up the story to get Lucky to notice her, to get
his sympathy. Although I can now see this is NOT the case, I am still
kind of bothered by this negative reinforcement, if you will. But, as I
said, I do NOT know the whole back story to this, so if someone could
let me know if I am way off base here, I would appreciate it. :)

Yeah, at 1st he was ga-ga over Sarah (gag me), but in some scenes,
especially the one where Liz took Lucky w/her to "save" Sarah from
Nikolas at the Cassadines Summer house, I think that was really the 1st
time he seemed to really care about Liz. I think Lucky became friends
w/Liz 1st, cuz he was just lusting after Sarah (WHY????). This is
becoming such a great story, but like everybody else, the thought of Mr.
Murty being the rapist bothers me a bit. But, I think there would be no
closure, ever for Liz if she never found out who the rapist is. I think
Laura will play heavily in her "recovery" on this!

It must be so nice to live in Robin's world. "Promise me"
this, "promise me" that.
Robin is, admittedly, a wonderful, admirable, and all
around neat person, but her visit with Tony today
epitomized for me why lately she irritates the heck out of
me. Not only did she think that asking Tony to promise
that he wouldn't kidnap Michael again was going to stick,
but she truly believed that Tony would just see the light.
She admitted repeatedly to Felicia that she thought Tony
needed help--was getting shot going to do the trick?
It must be nice to be Robin.

Thank you for clarifying this for me-- I appreciate the back history.
My roommate and I were watching Sarah chew out Robin for "stealing" her
boyfriend and we wondered how stupid the actress who plays Sarah must
have felt doing that scene! I don't quite understand the attraction
either... And Laura playing heavily in the recovery of Liz? (already
deleted original- that is a quote from Danielle) Very interesting, and
something I had not thought of! The woman Lucky is having a problem
with as far as not having told him the whole story, being the one able
to help the girl he is trying so hard to help- what interesting
dynamic! Thanks Danielle!

Which one? Robin w/Nik or Sarah. Either one is gross to me! I loved
Tyler being just Nik, but he's got no chemistry whatsoever w/these
people. The only good scenes he's had is the one w/Brenda (Vanessa, his

Guess I missed my calling, but hey, I think Lucky is gonna figure big in

mother. How could she ever have forgiven him???
