  177. imposing a monumental double standard.  It's perfectly ok for her to be
  178. pissed at Luke for with-holding info about her daughter, but then she
  179. actually has the nerve to take Luke's side when he does the same thing
  180. she was ticked about to someone else.  No way, Jose.

  183. Luke and Stefan both need to be THRASHED, up one side and down the other
  184. for summarily deciding what Laura should and should not be told.  And I
  185. wish (pipe dream, I know) that she would come back and tear them both to
  186. SHREDS for dolling out info that she has ever right to have.  It's a
  187. dispicable habit and both of them have it.  And it's, IMO, the same thing
  188. that Luke did to Lucky.

  191. No, I wouldn't have expected him to tell Lucky when he was a kid, but
  192. when something is public record like that, and you are living in the same
  193. town where it happened, Luke had no right to let someone else tell Lucky
  194. that first.  He had an obligation to be the one to tell him.

  197. Yeah, Lucky would have been hurt and angry and disillusioned, but he's
  198. right, the way this played out makes Luke look like an amazing hypocrite.
  199.  He basically breeds Lucky from birth to hate the Cassadines.  And then
  200. he either specifically or implicitly says that Nikolas was a child of
  201. rape, and folds that into the deck of hatred he and Lucky have stored up
  202. for the Cassadine men.

  316. that's the one that REALLY irked me.  we all KNOW jason never goes 
  317. anywhere without guards--and they all of a sudden showed up in that 
  318. scene where they were tying tony up--so explain to me how tony would 
  319. have ever even gotten into the cabin, let alone have a chance to pull a 
  320. GUN on jason.  pathetic.  at least it's over...and i LOVED in the 
  321. preview that it's the interns who are there when robin gets rushed into 
  322. the hospital.  it's about TIME we acknowledge that this is all in ONE 
  323. hospital!  YEAH CROSSOVERS!!!  :)

  344. Jason discovered that Robin and Nik were together the afternoon that Robin
  345. disappeared.  He went to Spook Central to question Nik (leading to another
  346. nice confrontation between Jason--I love those suits!--and Stefan), found
  347. out that Tony had dropped a receipt and Robin picked it up, and that Robin
  348. then told Nik she had to go, and there was something she might be able to
  349. do for Michael.  I don't actually remember that last comment happening, so
  350. maybe I misheard Nik's retelling of events.  At any rate, Jason, proving
  351. that he can think, took no time at all to put two and two together, and
  352. went to the cabin.

  383. well, i kind of agree with lizzie and bobbie and luke and whoever else 
  384. has pointed out that this crime didn't happen to HIM, it happened to 
  385. laura, and if she's made peace with it who is HE to throw himself in the 
  386. middle of something that fundamentally had nothing to do with him. 
  387. however, being as he DID idolize his father, and this DID all come right 
  388. on the heels of lizzie's rape, i can understand his reaction.  but i DO 
  389. think he's being a little bit of a brat.  childish tricks like the 
  390. silent treatment, and running away, and that thing with the song aren't 
  391. exactly the best way to go, imho.

  414. i'm not exactly sure what question you're asking--how he ended up at the 
  415. cabin, how he knew to go there, or what happened on friday--so here's 
  416. what i know...

  418. on thurs. he finally talked to brenda, who remembered robin saying 
  419. something that led jason to conclude that robin might have seen nik the 
  420. day she disappeared.  he went to spoon island and, despite stefan's best 
  421. attempts, spoke to nik, and learned that they had seen tony that day, 
  422. and that robin had subsequently realized she knew something she could do 
  423. to help jason find michael.  jason concluded from this that robin knew 
  424. tony had michael, and went to the cabin to find them.  (he knew about 
  425. that because they had been there before with the police).  he got there, 
  426. found robin and michael, and before they could leave was confronted by 
  427. tony who pulled a rifle on him.  jason managed to distract him long 
  428. enough to get the gun away, and was about to pulverize him when st. 
  429. robin interceded on tony's behalf.  he then had his guys tie tony up and 
  430. stay with him until the cops came, while he rushed robin to the 
  431. hospital, after making clear to tony that if she died, he wouldn't live 
  432. much longer.

  500. Benard does wind up reprising his role as the brooding crime boss 
  501. sometime during May sweeps. ôI would come back in a second.ö ôEven if I 
  502. was doing other stuff, I would still want to do GH.ö The actorÆs GH 
  503. co-stars are game, ôNothing is finer than working with Maurice Benard,ö

  528. head to the point where she has lost sight of her meager beginnings.

  541.      ItÆs not like Marcil hasnÆt earned the trappings of fame. In her GH 
  542. tenure she has worked hard to make a name for herself as one of 
  543. soapdomÆs most gifted actresses, and to transform Brenda from a spoiled 
  544. little rich brat into one of the genreÆs most multidimensional young 
  545. heroines. And in the on-screen romance department her success is 
  546. unparalleled. She clicked - and clicked big - with three leading men: 
  547. Antonio Sabato Jr., Maurice Benard and Ingo Rademacher. Head writer Bob 
  548. Guza explains her appeal as a leading lady thusly: ôShe has an extremely

  581. emotional scene, IÆll sit there and imagine that itÆs my last day on GH, 
  582. and IÆll be a wreck,ö she reveals. ôThatÆs how I make myself cry.  
  583. ThatÆs how much this show has meant to me. To MarcilÆs horror, such an 
  584. exit scenario almost played itself out last August when she nearly 
  585. followed Benard and Sonny out of Port Charles for good. But at the last 
  586. minute, the actress opted to resign (reportedly for a year) despite the 
  587. fact that Hollywood was beckoning. After she played Nicolas CageÆs 
  588. girlfriend in 1996Æs box-office smash The Rock her career was like a 
  589. train gaining momentum, and her agents were anxious for her to jump 
  590. aboard. ôFor the last year and a half, IÆve been sabotaging my career 
  591. outside of GH,ö she concedes. ôAfter The Rock, there were a lot of 
  592. things I got offered I turned down.ö Even Benard was sure his on-screen 
  593. amour was going to shove off. ôIt surprised me that she stay, ô he said 
  594. in August. ôWith everything that sheÆs got going for her, she should 
  595. go.ö So what convinced HollywoodÆs Next Big Thing to keep her day job? 
  596. ôI just wanted to be challenged in my acting, and as long as theyÆre 
  597. doing that here, I donÆt really care about becoming a big star. That 
  598. might be hard to believe for some people.ö Like for instance her agents. 
  599. They nearly dropped her as a client after she re-upped with GH, she 
  600. says. ôThey think that I could be this big movie star if I wanted to. I 
  601. would literally cancel huge auditions for huge movies because I had 20 
  602. important scenes the next day on GH. My agentÆs like, ôThis is a movie!ö 
  603. And I would just go, ôYeah but you know what ? IÆm on four scenes in 
  604. that movie, and I could do them in my sleep. TheyÆre not even a 
  605. challenge. The stuff on GH that IÆm doing tomorrow is so great! And my 
  606. agentÆs like, ôYouÆre so weird.ö  But I donÆt care if they think IÆm 
  607. crazy for loving this show.ö

  611.      MarcilÆs fondness for one particular co-star may be partly to blame 
  612. for her anxiety about possibly separating from GH. Her one-year plus 
  613. relationship with now fiancΘÆ Tyler Christopher certainly makes
  614. her commute to work more enjoyable and soon, the two will begin spending 
  615. more time on screen together as well. ôWe will be working together 
  616. more.ö Marcil reveals. To date, Brenda and Nikolas have
  617. only had one scene together - last December, when she visited the 
  618. wounded lad in the hospital. They might have more scenes together and 
  619. even a storyline, had she not clicked with Rademacher, Marcil
  620. suggests. ôI believe that if Brenda and Jax hadnÆt been such a smash hit 
  621. that the writers definitely would have liked to have had Brenda and 
  622. Nikolas become romantically involved. As it is, the actors real life 
  623. relationship is chronicled much as a soap plot. Each week, a new rumor 
  624. is born, and courtesy of the Internet, spreads faster than a California 
  625. brush fire. For instance when the couple postponed their winter wedding 
  626. until spring, speculation intensified that their romance was on the 
  627. rocks. The latest idle chatter had it that Marcil and Christopher were 
  628. feuding with Rademacher and one time girlfriend Rebecca Herbst. ôI heard 
  629. that I broke up with Tyler, and he and Ingo got into a fist fight in the 
  630. parking lot, and Wendy Riche set up BeckyÆs and my schedules so that 
  631. weÆre not working at the same time,ö sayÆs Marcil. ôItÆs hysterical. Our 
  632. lives are so boring that I guess itÆs disappointing to people.ö ôFor the 
  633. record,ö she adds, ôIngo and I have never for one second been 
  634. romantically involved with each other. I mean, not for one second, in 
  635. real life, outside of GH. WeÆre great friends, but itÆs not like we even 
  636. hung out before I got together with Tyler.ö Also for the record, Marcil

  638. engaged, and recently purchased a house together in Hollywood Hills. As 
  639. for their wedding it will happen when it happens. ôThe reality is that

  646.      The fact that everything about Marcil is noticed and even debated 
  647. in public is not lost on her - although she wishes it was. ôItÆs 
  648. actually my biggest problem in acting, ô she sighs. ôItÆs a very odd 
  649. thing to have that many people look at you and judge you, and I donÆt 
  650. like it. I donÆt know how anyone can handle that. It makes me want to 
  651. hide.ö The scrutiny likely will get worse. if Marcil becomes the big 
  652. deal everyone predicts she will, she and Tyler could wind up being the 
  653. next Demi and Bruce. That reality may prompt Marcil to keep her star 
  654. from rising any higher. ôI donÆt know if I want to not be able to take 
  655. my kids to Disneyland,ö she offers, ôI donÆt know if I want my kids to 
  656. have to see me on the cover of all those trash magazines saying these 
  657. horrible things. If I want to gain 20 pounds, I donÆt want to be called 
  658. a fat cow in Star magazine. ôMy dreams are that I want to have a family; 
  659. I want to have what I never had as a little girl. Being a movie star...I 
  660. donÆt know if I want that.

  665.      When her GH contract expires this summer Marcil will once again 
  666. have to answer that very question : Does she want to make movies, or 
  667. does she want to stick with what she considers to be the best job in
  668. the world? ôIÆm kind of in the same position that I was in last year.ö 
  669. she says. ôI have a development deal with ABC like I had last year, 
  670. which means they pay me a certain amount to go out on their pilots. So 
  671. if I do a pilot this year that gets picked up I have to do it. Even if I 
  672. wanted to stay here I couldnÆt. ôIf it happens, it will probably be the 
  673. most devastating thing IÆve ever gone through. But I also know you canÆt 
  674. stagnate yourself.ö If Marcil does indeed depart this summer she will 
  675. have a tough time finding a part thatÆs as rewarding as Brenda, and she 
  676. is acutely aware of it. ôMy worst fear is that IÆll leave to do a 
  677. primetime show because thatÆs the thing to do - thatÆs the so-called 
  678. more respectable place to go - and IÆll make more money and all that,ö 
  679. she says ôand I wonÆt be as happy as I am here. In that case I would 
  680. come back. For me itÆs all about being happy with the work I did that 
  681. day when I get into bed that night. ôItÆs really not going to matter 
  682. whether or not I get a lot of money,ö she concludes. ôIn the end, all I

  817. Where else could you see a daughter seek revenge on the mother who gave
  818. her up, by stealing her husband? For more than three decades, "General
  819. Hospital" has been bringing viewers mayhem five times per week, capturing
  820. the hearts of soap opera fans everywhere.

  822. The function of a soap opera is escapism - to take us out of our mundane
  823. lives and into a fantasy world filled with gorgeous people and their
  824. equally glamorous lifestyles.
