I love, respect, and admire Sting in countless ways, but I'm afraid I
wouldn't vote for Gore even if Sting asked me to personally. Sorry, that's
just my opinion.
Thanks,
Susy

I would consider myself an avid Gore supporter. My dad is a third generation
union worker, and my younger brother is going to be in one too, so i guess
i'll have four generations in my family. all of that asside though, most of
my own political feelings have been my own. through all of this political
stuff, i've never really heard any good reasons to vote for bush. i don't
believe that either candidate would be a great president, but i do believe
that gore is much more intelligent and able to be president. i guess that my
real question is, why would anyone want to vote for bush? i don't see the
attraction. in my mind, any man who passes a bill that makes it legal to
have concealed weapons in amusement parks and churches, doesn't value life
too much. just a question.

Dog,
Those on death row were born into poverty, etc.
W. was born into a somewhat wealthy, well-educated, political family.
If your thinking is to forgive the criminals for their actions "caused" by
their birth, wouldn't it be fair not to punish and criticize W. for the
circumstances of his birth?
I prefer to hold people responsible for their actions, not their birth. Poor
people can choose to be criminal, or they can choose to do something better.
Rich people can choose to be criminal, or they can choose to do something
better. Many rich do choose to be criminal, and many poor do choose to be
better; it has nothing to do with birth.

I thought Swingin' pretty much sucked, along with both Regatta attempts.
Seems like very few Police cover attempts work out...though the London
Symphony instrumental is a fabulous exception and lives permanently in my CD
player...
Hold off and hope they come as X-mas presents or something...

Well, I went down to Barnes & Noble and got my ENG cd this afternoon. I have
to say that while I like the Sting song "My Funny Friend and Me," I love the
duet he sings with Shawn Colvin "Someday She'll Love Me." I think their
voices compliment each other well. The rest of the cd is IMHO, nothing to
write home (or this list) about. However, I have been known to change my
opinion after hearing things a few more times.

On my new ENG soundtrack CD there are songs with Asterisks by them that say
"These songs were written for but not used in the final film." These songs
include:
Snuff Out the Light (Yzma's Song)
Walk the Llama Llama
One Day She'll Love Me (Sting & Shawn Colvin)
My question is whether anyone knows what songs are to be included on the
other CD and when it will be released. Thanks in advance.

<BR><B>Don't land so close to me, says pop star Sting
<BR>
<BR></B>
<BR>LONDON (Reuters) - Pop star Sting is taking legal action against Britain's <BR>Royal Air Force over its plans to increase usage of an airfield near his $2.9 <BR>million country mansion, British newspapers said Friday.
<BR>
<BR>The Ministry of Defense wants to use its exemption to usual planning <BR>regulations to increase the number of flights at RAF Boscombe Down in <BR>southern England -- a mile from Sting's home -- from 9,000 to 14,000 a year, <BR>papers said.
<BR>
<BR>The British singer, former frontman of rock band the Police, is leading a <BR>group of local residents, including the Earl and Countess of Chichester, in a <BR>campaign against the plan, which he says is a breach of his human rights.
<BR>
<BR>"He's greatly concerned about the effects on his life and his enjoyment of <BR>his property," a spokesman for the musician told the Daily Mail.
<BR>
<BR>Lawyers acting for Sting, whose string of hits include "An Englishman in New <BR>York" and "Don't Stand So Close To Me," have started legal proceedings at <BR>Britain's High Court to fight the move.
<BR>
<BR>If he fails in his bid, the singer can always seek solace at his homes in <BR>Italy, Malibu or New York.

I would like to know who did this poll. "Born to Run," Every Breath You
Take," and "The Dock of the Bay" are all behind "MmmBop" and "Baby One More
Time." Are the people at MTV incredibly uneducated in the field of music?
I'm also incredibly dissapointed in Rolling Stone. I have personally never
really found either of those songs to be any good, and I've never even found
them to be too catchy either(by the way, i am 19, so i was the target
audience for some of this crap). I've also never really like much of the
stuff the band The Rolling Stones have done. I like "Paint it Black," and
some of their other stuff, but i actually detest the song "Brown Sugar."
Maybe it's just because i didn't grow up with them. Anyways, i guess i just
wanted to rant about some of the choices on the list.
