always got a few wicked samples to play with - almost all of them are
spoken word snippets. also their solid steel section of the website
has archived real radio dj sets that are only held togethor by the
samples that they use. if anything, you could at least listen to the
sets for inspiration, etc. they are all *excellent* - albeit on the
jazzy-downtempo-triphop tip. enjoy.

And after thumbing through my This Mortal Coil box
set, no Nina Walsh to be found in the credits
anywhere.

You might want to try doing a search on Allmusic.com. I did and Nina Walsh
is mostly listed as a producer/engineer, with a "multi-instrumenalist"
credit on Slab!'s 1996 release. So perhaps this is where we have heard
her before.

Nina Walsh was with the Saberettes, which from memory was/is related to the
Sabres of Paradise which was/is one of Andy Weatherall's projects from a
couple of years ago.
I've got a couple of 12"'s and an LP but to be honest I've never really
listened to em and don't know if she sings on em or in fact what releases
she has sung on.

Subject: (orb) The Damage Manual
Hi,
Has anyone got this yet? I seem to have missed any posts regarding this
album, and only found out about it today!
"The Damage Manual" is Chris Connelly - vocals, Jah Wobble - bass, Geordie
Walker - guitar, Martin Atkins - drums and loops with Lee Fraser - synths
and tweaks.
The CD, simply called "The Damage Manual" was released on Invisible Records
in September 2000 (INV143CD).
And the 10th track is listed as:
Sunset Gun (Fully Monty Sunny Orb Up Mix) (5:16)
There are also mixes by Laswell & Wobble as well, which makes for (what
looks like) an interesting album (Wobble, Orb, Laswell, Nine Inch Nails,
etc.).
So, has anyone heard it yet?
Regards,
Nick ;-)

Yeah...it is *exactly* what you'd expect from that group of people.
Nice, competent, certainly worth getting if you like any/all of the
talent involved, but nothing extraordinary; all of them have made far
better music on their own or with other projects.

Okay, you've sold me (on the "certainly worth getting if you like
any/all"...).
Laswell/Orb mixing, Wobble's bass (that bass on the "Blue Room" = superb!),
various members of Killing Joke... Hmmm!!!
Action Records, here I come! And it's only 8 quid!!
Thanks again,
Nick ;-)

seen this new method? I almost was starring. O O

I read about the new thermin instrument that is to be sold this year
in my local fish wrap. Warren's cuch was glossy. The drummer's name
was Joe. The girl I took to the show goes out with Dicky Betts nephew
and she was checking out the bass player Simon. Simon LeBon had
martian colored tennys on too... And a familiar footbal jersey...
Royal Blue it was... Hey wich reminds me....
Thanksgiving '99 I gave Alex a Trent Dilfer jersey. I think that
Trent Dilfer wants to see TPB's locker room again for the Big Dance.
He is now leading his Baltimore team into the NFL post season. Go
Trent! '99 gave us Alex' big didgit and Andy's orbiting ornamenting

though) "Dilfer" (I already said: "Raven 2000") Oh, on a side note an
airplane crashed into one of Baltimores home feild stadiums long ago.
y'all can let me know how to get my fresh Orb promos soon. Welcome

Oh, yeah, this is sumthin'- Florida has all the class. Watch for the

According to nme.Com :
...FOOTBALL' POSTPONED
SPACE have "put the breaks" on the release of their new album, so
they can enter the
studio with THE ORB to record more new material.
According to a posting on the Gut Records website,
www.gutrecords.com, the band,
whose last release was a single, 'Diary Of A Wimp' last year,
postponed the release of
their new album, which had a working title of 'Love You More Than
Football', to enter
the studio with the electronica pioneers.
Mainman Tommy Scott has now written "four new songs that he wants on
the album",
which are described as "much heavier than the rest...(they) signify a
return to the
beatfreak side of Space."
A spokesperson for Space told NME.COM that the new material would
definitely see the
light of day in 2001, with a possible single release sometime in
April. He commented:
"They've been working with Andy Hughes from The Orb and he's brought
them right on
line, the album is just a couple of tracks from completion now, we're
all excited."
Apparently, nobody told them that Andy's not in the Orb anymore.
Can't wait for this collaboration (although I dont really know Space,
except their version of the Bee Gee's Massachussets on the Gotta Get
a message to you tribute CD)

great, just what we needed. Now the Orb are linked to TWO COMPLETELY
INDEPENDENT musical projects, BOTH called Space. :-P
