Hi ya all,=20
Listening to an old interview with Alex the name was not that dramatic =
or premeditative like you want it to sound. Alex was asked - Why the =
orb? Well it's from an Woody Allen movie, and he heard the phrase, the =
orb, the orb, give me the orb. That's my (IMHO) impression of the =
interview.

in the context of the film, the orb is an object which acts as some kind
of sex toy/ ultimate provider of joy - people all jonez for it, take it in
their hands, and then writhe around in ecstasy... its a great scene, and
Sleeper's one of woody allen's finest, IMHO.

No, that's the machine you go in when you want sex. The orb was passed around
at Diane Keaton's party and Woody was playing as her servant robot

Subject: (orb) Orb videos
Am I the only one who finds most of the Orb videos incredibly disappointing? After downloading the ones on the various FTP sites, I must confess that after longing for years to see these, they seemed prety lame. Granted, it would be difficult to make videos on the same awesome level that the Orb's music exists, but geez - you'd think they should have at least tried.
My apologies if the person who created them is on this list, but it looks like most of them were made in an afternoon with nothing more than a cheap camcorder and a copy of After Effects.
I dunno - maybe this was due to budget issues, in which case I will retract these comments.
There is one exception - the one for Asylum is pretty cool and imaginative (and took loads of effort, by the look of it). I also saw the one for Pomme Fritz a few years ago on TV, and that was really well done as well (I'd love to see that on the FTP site).
