Hmmm.. Unfortunately as nibble says on his web site, you can't publish set
lists due to ASCAP protection reasons.

This attitude Gavin is talking about is unfortunate. *Especially* if you
are getting first generation copies directly from him. He puts a huge
amount of work into his discs and inserts, and that is certainly worth
more than a couple of blanks (currently available in jewel cases for
less than $1 each).
Heck, even second generation copies are worth more than that. It takes
time and resources to burn high quality copies. (If you want copies read
at 48x and burned at 6x with no QC, inserts, labels, or jewel cases,
blanks might do it...)
Now, n-th generation copies of uncertain provenance with all sorts of
artifacts, or de-MP3-ed copies are almost certainly only worth
blanks...but that is another argument. ;)
Anyway, they are making their way out into the community; I'm sure
someone will MP3 them, and someone else may well be willing to burn
copies for blanks...so they will be available to more and more people as
time goes on. But. High-quality copies are always going to fetch a
premium.

Does anyone know anything about this cd?
ALEX PATERSON (THE ORB)AMBIENT MEDITATIONS 2 V/A CD
&
recently picked up Thomas Fehlmann's new cd - "one to three overflow
ninenine / nd"
- -includes a couple of his remixes of others, incl Juan Atkins, some of the
tracks from "blow up chimp", and some new tracks. One is a 8:57 long piece
with Robert Fripp; another is written with Daniel Miller, my favorite is a
badass groover in the style of Miles Davis' late 60s - early 70s tracks.
also got the new Peter Kruder (Peace Orchestra) says "written, performed and
produced by" - very chilled!
like the new 2 lone swordsmen too

So, what is the new Toxygene Network Protocol by Dr. Alex Patterson anyway?

they have a weird 'world' music section that you can crank some ambient

but more than likely for the better...

i'm surprised nobody's commented on lx's revelation
that u.s. island is no more and has now become
island/def jam, a tidbit confirmed by my friend who
noticed a small announcement at the record store she
works at.
we could at least argue over the irony (or lack
thereof) of our heroes being labelmates with jay-z,
method man, foxy brown and ... joan osborne?!! and of
course there's the question of how this will impact the
release date.

btw, the new thrash tracks are pretty interesting ...

According to Shane Clark, who runs the IMA Page dedicated to BT,
http://home.earthlink.net/~whohah/BT/up.html
BT loved the Orb remix, but the label refused to release it.
Why ? Nobody knows...
So there's this one, the U2 "Numb" one, one Primal Scream track remixed
from the last album (according to a 97' LX interview), and JMJarre
"Oxygene", if it wasn't a joke.
The Orb should release an EP full of unreleased / banned remixes now ! :)

Hi there,
The Orb is performing at New Zealand Festival 2000. March 4, 2000.
(Wellington, New Zealand 4 March 2000)
We (shift) have put together a site promoting the event - this includes the
beginnings of a discography, a live review, competition to win tickets (to the
event - unfortunately not to New Zealand) and The Orb - mixer - an audiovisual
mixer using Orb samples and NZ pics.
The site is called The Orb - adventures in aotearoa. (Aotearoa is the Maori
name for New Zealand - translated it means Land of the Long White Cloud). It
uses both Flash and Shockwave and is kind of fun.
