Definitely a substance film, to see in Japanese version rather than dubbed
version.  The soundtrack is well worth it, too.

Does anyone know if the Orb has performed Close Encounters, Majestic or
U.F.Orb live?

Majestic refers to the Majestic 12 (I've read about them somewhere, aren't
they like the MiB), right?

I know I could look at the bootleg list on theorb.com but I'm...uh...too
lazy and figured someone here would know.

I was listening to Orblivion and it sounds, when compared to Orbus, Frites
and OABU, more "pop."  The short songs, etc. It irks me when I read
reviewers who talk of the "decline" of the Orb when it seems to me that all
their albums, like it or not, each have the same high standard (pretty much)
and it's usually the "feel" of the album that bothers people. U.F.Orb and
Orblivion, somehow, feel more mainstream than soem of the other albums
(though they could hardly be called mainstream).

What does everyone think? How about the album themes (There was a THREAD
about this a WHILE bAck)

OABU-Space (inner and Outer)
U.F.Orb- Ufology
Live 93-:)
Orbus Terrarum-earth (Literally, Earth as in dirt (slug dub))
Orblivion-the millenium
   Delta MKII-what does delta Mk mean anyway? does it refer to a piece of
gear or mk-ultra or what
referring to the opening sample, McCarthyism=P.C. (Political Correctness)?
If I were to REALLY read stuff in about Orblivion's millenial links,
Toxygene=pollution, passage of time=21st century, ubiquity=boring future,
etc.

I do have a life, by the way/

yup, all of the above, tho i don't think 'close
encounters' or 'u.f. orb' have been played live for
years. i've seen 'em play 'majestic' on the '95 and
'97 u.s. tours.

don't know about all the rest of this crap - sounds
about right to me, i guess. ;)

cd?  I would love to have a copy of the Fletch soundtrack,
but on cd....  I have it on cassette, but that doesn't do me

Whatever happened to this guy?  Basically, I'm looking for
a cd copy (cd-r is fine) of his music--specifically the stuff
he did for Fletch.

Yeah, I know, it's not Orb...but it's at least electronic
music...which is a heckuva lot closer to the Orb than
apocalyptic movies....  ;-)

    Whoa, I missed something. Someone thinks akira is overrated crap?
Maybe you haven't seen it ENOUGH times to understand it? Or maybe you
haven't fully appreciated the drawings. Unbelievable detail.

    Or, perhaps the greatest shame of all, you probably haven't seen
the subtitled version. Those STUPID voices they used, and akira is the
worst as far as this fairly common problem is concerned. I think they do
it intentionally. Anyways, it's much easier to take the whole thing
seriously when you hear the real voices.

    Sidebar: Just got Ninja Scroll in subtitles. Oh yeah.

    It's not live action, is that's what you're asking... I'm actually
not even certain if it's been released yet domestically. I live in new
york, so there're like 15 stores that will sell you 3 bootlegs for $10 of
any anime you want. Sailor moon in japanese? Gundun? Devilman? You name
it. :)

    Anyways, the story's not quite so good but the drawings are almost
better...

    Appleseed. Mmmmm... Tank police videos are good.

    See, the only problem with books is, in addition to the fact that
most are written in japanese (I found one in korean!), they're expensive!
At least most places I've been to charge a lot.

Maybe you should find a synopsis- there's one on the net that helps.


Since we're talking about manga now, how about Usagi Yojimbo?

I think some comix, especially anything by Moebius, is really great when
you're listening to the Orb in the background.

Or Philip K. Dick! That guy's the best sci fi writer in the world! Talk
about mend bending!

Hoy! Isn't like O.O.B.E. Adventure a bootleg? Italian crap CD my version =
anyhow with sound glitches and stuff. And have you read the book. man =
some Italian guy wrote this crap and probably made good profit on it. =

I think this was B-Tribe but I don't remember there being an official
Orb remix -- maybe a DJ mix that used Orb samples?
