Talk about a slap in the face to Orb fans - as many of you know they
played at Woodstock 94, and were not given any coverage by MTV,
Pay-Per-View, and as far as I know, no u.s. radio broadcast. Luckily,
Radio One did acknowledge their performance in part, and is now one of
the most popular Orb bootleg cds in circulation.
Now, not at Woodstock 99, and their music is slipped into the
rapid-fire anonymous approach that MTV uses to demonstrate the better
music available than what they play in heavy rotation. Grrr!

CDNOW is having a sale, and I was finally going to pick up orblivion, and
was wondering...should I bother paying the extra cash for the 2cd import?
I'm not a purist, in fact, I prefer the one-disc "Ultraworld" CD over the
double-disc one, but just wanted people's opinions.

Hopefully it will stay above the atmosphere. If it does, NASA wants to do
8 more plutonium missions. Unnecessary risks are being taken.

I don't think there is a 2CD version of Orblivion. The extra cash is the
import mark-up ($29.99 for UK vs $14.99 for US). Go for the cheap one.

But when orblivion came out didn't it have a rerelease of Aubrey
Mixes or some other promo only thing attached in the first X
amount of pressings? i could be wrong but i thought something
like that happened for the Orblivion release....

Can anyone confirm or deny this? if so maybe this is the "2CD"
set found at cdnow.com

We get out British music magazines a little late over here in
California.  While looking through the August Mixmag I found a little
article on page 23 that says "String Group Instrumental" (?) has put out
an album of strings-only cover versions.  Included is a version of the
Orb's (our hero's!) "Little Fluffy Clouds".  It's on the Big Chill
label.  Has anybody heard this album?  Would love to hear your comments.

Tower was selling their Orblivions with Orbscure Trax shrinkwrapped to
the back for a short time. That's how I got mine, and that's the only
2cd set I could think of it being.

It's an unreleased album. It's as rare as the Orb's remix of U2's Numb,
and probably just as impossible to find. I don't know for sure, but i
think the total number of Mission 92 discs pressed is 0.

I figured this would be a good place to mention this...
Last week's Amp was live footage of the Chemical Brothers/Fatboy Slim
show at Red Rocks. I never thought I'd see a live "knobtwiddling" band
broadcasted on US television. I was impressed.
