I haven't had any mail come from the KLF or ORB list all weekend, so this is
more of a test than anything else.

Yep. Sorry everyone, I ended up spending the holiday weekend at my girl's
house. I have some things to finish up the next couple of nights, then I'll
have it back up.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas -- I sure did.
all the best,
Scott

Hi everyone,
It's been a long time since I have responded to the Orb List. I wish
everyone some Happy Holidays and good luck finding what you are looking for.
I finally got what I was looking for. That was the six track cd of the way
out of print Little Fluffy CLouds single. I moved on to some different bands
too, like Future Sound Of London and Underworld for example. How has
everything been? I haven't been on the Orb list to much because I moved to
Fort Collins, Colorado. Talk to you later!
Seasons Greetings from:
Nate Udel-

Yes. It will now be down until after the new year. There is no technical
reason for it being down. I need the laptop for other things. I
occasionally do visuals for parties/raves, and this year for New Year's is
no exception -- a 25 foot projector, 3 laptops, 2 VCR's, and a Videonics
MX-1! The walls will be dripping! Anyways, I need the laptop for new
year's, so I'm not going to turn the OAA up then back down again.
Speaking of MP3's, I just started using the coolest little plugin for Winamp
called "Pitchfork" if you're like me and want to be able to pitch control
and hot start MP3's off your pc so you can put them in your mix, then this
is all you need -- and it seems to work perfectly, although it doesn't seem
to work with regular audio CD's -- something to do with the directsound
output plugin I think. Anyways, it's got a built-in BPM counter that
actually works, and you can store BPM measurements with the MP3 if you use
the same company's MP3 databasing software. Also, you can calculate the
current MP3's BPM's, then calculate your cue'd MP3's BPM's and it will
automatically calculate the correct pitch adjustment to beat match the
songs -- I think that's pretty freakin cool! It's got nudge, temporary
pitch bend, return to zero, etc. You can even run two instances of winamp
and mix on your PC without two soundcards or an external mixer (although
it's way better to use with two PC's and a mixer). It's in the plugins
section on winamp.com; and I'll put it in the utilities directory of the OAA
when I bring it back up.
Enough rambling......
Happy New Year!
Later,
Scott

Subject: (orb) Orbital (non-Orb, sorry)
Hi,
Sorry for the non-Orb content, but I've just received a record list and
found the following Orbital 12" for sale and was wondering if anyone can
shed any light on it (I'm not currently subscribed to the Orbital list at
the moment):
ORBITAL Bagpipe Style (UK Soundmasters 12" acetate b/w An Fhomhair) UK 35.00
/ $ 56.00
Any ideas? Is this the new single off the new album due out next year, or is
it something completely different??
Puzzled!
Nick ;-)

The new single is called "Style" and is due out in January. Maybe this
is a promo or perhaps a "Bagpipe" remix? Who knows?

Subject: (orb) Orbradio question
Just got a proper modem and I've been enjoying .ra and .ram and mp3s... =
About Orbradio... why did they do this instead of making excerpts from =
the album available. Was this originally broadcast on radio and was it =
live? Finally, what's the pretty jazzy-hip-hop backed song at the 29:00 =
mark?
another question: I downloaded it as .ra but it seems stuck in the "open =
recent" section. How do I transfer/save it to another folder?
and still another: when's the Orb archive supposed to come back and if =
someone could be so kind as to give me the address...
