| They did have DATs. Actually, they had 3 ADATs (8 track

I bet that's how you do a techno GIG (and 'live' mix of 'Huge Brain Puslating ...'). Everything is the preparation of the sounds/tapes and the skill of the live patching/mixing. Makes me want to buy and ADAT...
This week-end, I discovered a remix from the orb that I didn't knew yet. It is on a double CD from "Pop will eat itself", the (in)famous british group, called "Two fingers my friends" which features re-mixes of their work by a lot of interesting parties (to name a few: The orb/Jah Wobble/the Krupps/Apollo 440/Drum Club/...). Although the Orb's contribution is not the best one (IMHO), this is quite a good deconstruction exercise...
I picked up the same album that Marc did a couple of weeks ago. I thought that the Orb track is one of the best I've every heard. The dubby echo, the samples, it all just blends in so perfectly. I love to put this track on andcrank up

Yes! Where's the original version of 'Home' in this remix???
Don't get me wrong I love this track but it seems like it's just an Orb
track they wanted to release and then just used the drums from the PWEI
song for the last 30 seconds or so of the song, I can't really see any
remixing.
What I would like Orb to remix: Anything by Spiritualized or Slowdive..
And you??
Cheers,
Karsten

What do you folks think of the Orb's long rework of Democracy from Killing Joke ?
To me is has very stong basis but they did fuck too much with wild echoes. It kills the groove of the track. It feels like they are banging on everything in a huge factory warehouse {still don't get why they called it 'Toundra' mix). I'm a bit desapointed.
