Probably a two player (splitscreen?) simultanous mode will be the next big thing
for 3-D platformers. Although one should never rule out that Nintendo can clevery
work to include Mario and luigi at the same time without using splitscreen.
Also, EAD has three paths to go here. Either A) they do a Mario 3 like game, with
a ton of power ups and vaguely RPG like elements in 3-D, B) they expand on what
they started with Mario 64 c) they combine both and come up with something totally
new.

Am I alone in thinking that Spyro The Dragon is as good a Super Mario 64 when
it comes to control, level design, grapics, and fun? Sure, Spyro was a bit on
the easy side and Mario 64 did have some difficult spots (most of Tick Tock
Clock), but I think Spyro ranks up there with Super Mario 64 as a great 3-D
Platformer.

I've gotten almost all the cheats, I'm missing one (have two spaces left) but
I'm not sure which one that is. Not that I care. Got the 007 Mode too.

I'm a huge fan of co-op games, but I'm a bit doubtful of how successful
splitscreen will be. It really severely limits your field of view to only
get one half of a TV set... maybe if we get a console that's designed
specifically for those new digital TV's, with the wider aspect ratio and
higher resolution.

But what other game can you think of where an enemy will 'moon' you?

No only was the control how'd you'd expect a jet-ski videogame to handle,
but the graphical effects and sound combined to make, IMO, one of the more
original & realistic experiences in videogaming. And I still haven't
mastered all the stunts yet.

I agree. In fact, if the PSX2 & N2000, Dolphin, whatever, were available at
the same time I'd go with the Dolphin. Excluding the VB, Nintendo's stood
behind all their systems and I'm scared that the PSX2 might have too much
power for developers initially. Besides, you gotta have Mario.
Also, because the Dreamcast is easy to program for & more powerful than
initially thought, & has about a year lead time, might end up with the
larger library (not better necessarily) than Sony or Nintendo.

My guess:
I'm pretty sure they're working on incorporating some multiplayer aspects
into it. That would add an entire new element to game play. Imagine you
and your buddies ganging up on Bowser or chasing Toad or Luigi around the
castle. This would probably mean that ther would have to be some changes in
Boss AI, if the games is co-op multiplayer, because now the computer has to
defend itself aganist more than one person.
Just my .02
