Macintosh?! Hahaha... anyways, I never personally buy a game unless I
know I have time to play it. Like right now I'm studying for finals, I
don't have the time to go and buy Shadowgate like I originally planned
to, so I'll just have to wait untill I have more time (summer is
comming, I can taste it!)

It's not like there are that many games for Mac anyway.. I don't think
you'll have a problem ;-)
Oh, and I remember PO'd.. I don't recall the specifics of the game.
Actually, I remember very little about the game at all.. was it a fighting
game?

Hehe, yeah, finals suck. We just got finished last Thursday ... FREEDOM! Now
I can become a slave to the football team during workouts and spend my
mornings at summer school ... eh he, he ... well, the summer school is by
choice (an extra math course to get ahead) ...
Well, Toys "R" Us sent out and ad today with the Philadelphia Inquirer, and
to my great delight, Nintendo has dropped the price of the Memory Pak /
Controller Pak to $9.99, finally. So those of use to cheap to buy a Dex Drive
will like this ...

Okay, I have been beating the Practice 2 "Board the Platforms" for Super
Smash Brothers. I've gotten everyone except for Jigglypuff's. I can get all
of them except for the last one with the LLLLLOOOOOONNNNNNGGGG jump. I've
been jumping of the ledge until you can't see my character anymore, then
double jumping, but it seems I'm always the same distance off. Any help?

Those of use? Are you getting English lessons from Jar Jar Binks? The
Nintendo Brand Controller Pak has been $10 here for a while. Not that I would
care. I still have my ooriginal two that I bought with Mario Kart 64 & Blast

To all who would read this post:
DO NOT BUY SUPERMAN! IT IS AS BAD AS THE REVIEWS SAY!
I had great hopes for this game. With a number of postpones on release, I
was sure that this game would be incredible. Boy, was I ever wrong. I
wanted to like this game. I tried to like this game, but as hard as I tried
it didn't happen. From the poor backstory to even worse controls, I can
find nothing of redeeming value in this game. It looks like it took a full
dose of Kryptonite before release. In fact, the cart should have been
glowing green. The only good thing that came out of me renting Superman was
that I didn't actually buy it.

I finally had a chance to go back to NFS3:HP to check out the reflections.
Basically they take a texture (such as sky, or underside of tunnel) and =
map it
onto the the surface of the car, and have the texture move from the front =
to
the back of the car as you drive.
It looks fine for the most part, but it looks really fake if you are =
turned 90
degrees or so on the track. This is because the texture is now oriented =
and
moving perpendicular to what it's supposed to be reflecting. It's really
obvious when you go into tunnels or covered bridges. The "reflected" =
lights
on your car are perpendicular to the lights on the underside of the =
tunnel.
Also, canyon textures and such are mapped onto the side windows of the
cars, but it does this for the whole track regardless of whether there are
actually canyons next to you.
Most of the reflections in games like Top Gear Rally, F-1 World Grand =
Prix,
1080 Snowboarding, etc... probably work in the same way. They mainly
reflect sky textures, so it's not obvious whether the texture is oriented
correctly or not, and so it looks realistic.
The BAR textures are probably not real-time ray traced, but they sure use =
a
very convincing technique. I think that BAR's reflections actually
correspond to it's environment. I don't have access to BAR, so I'm hoping
that someone else can drive around in BAR and tell us more about the
reflections. For example, as you drive by stuff and see it reflected on =
your
car, stop the car and do some donuts and see if the reflected textures
"stick" to your car (like NFS) or if they stay fixed to the environment.
Does this make sense?

If I recall correctly, BAR doesn't have reflective textures that 'stick' to
the car. The reflective textures change accordingly depending on what you
pass by -- the aforementioned hot air balloons in a previous post are a good
example, and I do believe Sunset Sands has many better examples.
As for Top Gear Rally, the windows didn't have reflections, nor did the car
sides. But if you chromed the cars, there was a standard texture that 'stuck'
to your car regardless; it only depended on what level you were on.

I only now one thing: I would change the reflective textures of BAR for
more hi-res graphics.
I was playing Racer with a friend in the two-player mode: it's amazing what
Lucasarts is doing with the RAM pack! Hi-res graphics and 30 fps even with
split screen mode (there's some pop up, but that's expected). I only hope
that Midway learn from them and make a quality job on Gauntlet Legends (I
already read that the PSX version have better textures...).

Anyone remember Way of The Warrior and that other fighting game (can't
recall the name) with gangsters and stuff? Not 3DO finest, if I remember
well. :-)
PO'd was way better on the PSX (faster frame rates and higher res), but it's
the most weird fps ever (walking butts attacking you with yellow cloud
farts?)
