off topic discussion involving gun control & gun laws. As interesting
as it has been, it's going no where. Keep it up and suspensions will
occur.

ETERNAL DARKNESS
You know about Perfect Dark -- but Nintendo's got another shocker up its
sleeve
Despite a strict press embargo enforced on the gaming media, the Big "N"
surprisingly announced some of its upcoming E3 titles almost a month before
the yearly videogame expo opens its portals in Los Angeles. Besides
confirmations of Perfect Dark's and Donkey Kong's E3 showfloor presence,
but there's a major surprise game...

NINTENDO GETS RIDGE
The rumors are true: Namco's Ridge Racer franchise is on its way to
Nintendo 64
After three years of rumors and much speculation, IGN64 has received first
confirmation of an N64 installment of Namco's Ridge Racer series.
Tentatively called Ridge Racer 64, the surprise title will be unveiled at
next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles. Check out
the full news story at

KOBE BRYANT GOES FOR TWO
Lakers star is the key to a second NBA title... on the N64
As E3 draws closer, companies are tightening their lips about new products
due this year, but IGN64 has learned that there will be a second NBA game
featuring Kobe Bryant. Nintendo revealed intentions to release a game
tentatively titled Kobe Bryant 2...

BOTTOM OF THE 9TH
IGN64 goes deep into Bottom of the 9th. Read our full review of Konami's
latest sports title
Konami throws its cap into the batter's box with Bottom of the 9th, a
baseballer that fits in somewhere between the realism of the All-Star
Baseball series and the arcade action of the Ken Griffey series of games.
Not having a MLB license doesn't necessarily spell doom if the title is
entertaining enough, but for Bottom of the 9th, no license and no arcade
thrills will make it tough for Konami to stay in the game...

MARIO GOLF
A whopping 20 screen-shots of Nintendo's Mario-based take on Hot Shots Golf
You got to leave it to Nintendo -- that company knows how to come up with
compelling names for its games! After Mario Kart, Mario RPG and Mario
Party, there aren't many words left that haven't been combined with
Nintendo's famous mascot's moniker. Add another one to the list...

THE SNITCH
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had two questions last week for a chance to win a cool set of Zelda
action figures:
Which hardware developer makes Game Grips?
What movie features this line: "No seducing in the cafeteria!"?
Some of you got question one right, the answer was Blaze - easy to find via
our Hardware section on IGN64. However, none of you got question two
correct. So, this week, answer just question two for your chance to win the
figures. If you entered last week, you get another crack at it.
Send your entry (one per person) with the correct answers to
newsletter@imaginegames.com by Monday, April 26, 1999. In the subject line,
put: JUST ONE DARN QUESTION CONTEST. Be sure to include your name, mailing
address (street address, no P.O. boxes), and phone number. The winners will
be picked out of all the correct entries I receive.
Failure to follow these directions will result in hurt feelings and an all

Why is it when I clearly typed "Zelda's Lullaby" after main theme (am I the
only person who thinks Zelda's Lullaby is the main theme?) people still think
I'm talking about the music during the title sequence?

Except it didn't involve mutant zombie space marines. It didn't resemble a
3-D shooter at all, unless there's a 3-D shooter that involves killing
innocents, who had no way to defend themselves, for the reason that the
killers were pure evil.
I wonder with all the talk about Doom has id released any comments about this

Wes, it takes about a day for anything to go into effect on this list. Most
people respond to one message at a time, not read everything then respond. So
I bet a bunch of people responed to a "Scapegoat" message before even seeing
Vi's.

It is not purely about politics/gun law etc. but also how the
video-games industry is being used as a "Scapegoat" for the Colorado
massacre. It is highly relevent to this "video games" list, and
obviously we as list members wish to talk about it!

Stretchin things a bit far there don't you think.
As I said, these 2 guys were inherently evil, and would have committed
some crime sooner or later. However, the availability of fire-arms in
the US is unnecessary, and proves a catalyst for situations like this.

Wes, as a video-games list, this list should run for all matters
pertaining to video-games, and as the massacre is being blamed in part
on video-games, then why as a list - shouldn't we discuss it!
At the risk of being suspended, what you are threatening is censorship -
for no reason!!
This tragedy is something that has affected everyone world-wide, and to
be told that we can't discuss it is wrong.
The topic will peter out within a few days, but in the meantime, look at
the amount of responses, list members obviously wish to discuss this.
To gag our mouths is tantamount to telling a child he can't take a
cookie from the jar, and I'm 28, a little too old to be admonished for
stealing cookies.
Respectfully,

This is a Nintendo 64 list last time I checked. Why is it that just about
nobody on this list (few exceptions) s*ubscribe or respond to the Videogames
list "videogames@n-games.com"? It's a great list for talking about videogames
that don't relate directly to the N64. But there only seems to be three
regualrs to that list. I don't know how Chris Avery feels about guns,
politics, and Colorado, but from what I remember from the old SNES-l it
seemed more open to open discussion. IMHO.

If this was a public list or funded by some government agency you could bring
up the censorship thing with just cause, but it's not. And until we start
sending Greg bribes it probably will stay that way.

Things have gotten a little out of hand!
Mmmmm, is it because I (god forbid) had an opinion, and dared state it?
Or maybe, because the matter I was talking on was not 100% N64?
Or could it be that because I'm british, (we all still have afternoon
tea over here, don't you know), and maybe I don't understand?
Could it be that I'm not allowed to speak my mind because I have never
fired a fire-arm?
I was just following the thread, one response illicits another O.K., it
may not have been totally related to the N64, but instead of bitching
about it, why didn't someone start a new thread, therefore a new
discussion begins..(are we beginning to see how this works yet people).
Huh, and I would've gotten away with it too if it wasn't for you pesky
kids!

O.K. I went back as Child Link, wearing my mask, and I believe that
the skull kid is the lone kid with the flute on the stump dancing around. If
so, no matter how I approached him he still wizzed off to nowhereland when I
approached. I assumed that with the mask he would stick around. Any More
Help Please?

It used to be that if you said s*bscribe in a message that the mail server
would interpret it as someone s*bscribing to the list, and it would cause
unnecessary technical problems, and th4e message wouldn't get through. I
don't know whether that is still true, but I just wanted to be safe.
