NEVER buy a Sharkpad... it sucks. Whenever I play, I have to reset the
joy stick every 2 seconds. If I hold the R button in Bond for aiming
the crosshairs move left and right crazyily... this SUCKS.

I don't why I'm even bothering to respond to this, but oh well.. South Park 64's
supposed to come out January of next year. Probably won't get delayed since
their just using the Turok 2 engine for it and don't have to start from scratch.

How is DVD so expensive? I bought a DVD player last summer for $300, which
isn't such a bad deal at all. DVD movies cost about $15 to $20 a piece, same
price as video cassettes.

The problem is that you can't record anything on home DVDs right now.
Nothing will fully replace VHS until a medium is found that you can record
on for about the same price as VHS is right now. That is the reason why
audio tapes are still around...CDs can't be recorded on cheaply enough to
kill the tape market.

Ah yes.
I live in NY.
I heard about it.
All of my data files were gone when I came back, the important neat things
that I have d/led... and I turned on my system to a wonderful "Windows could
not be loaded, win.com not found."
My brother says he used it during many power outs and i think he messed up a

Of course, the Zip disk is just a proprietary medium for Iomega and
anyone liscensed to use it. It is just a form of magnetic storage like a
large floppy. There is no special Zip technology involved. the LS120, the
SyQuest, and the upcoming 144MB and 200MB disks are also similar. The 64DD
is exactly like this, using 64MB disks, to reduce price and to increase
speed. The Zip is not that fast anymore. If Nintendo used a liscensed
medium such as the Zip, they would have to pay for it, and manufacturers
would be able to make games from disks not made by Nintendo.

all we know right now is the next machine probably won't be cartridge based.
Mr. Lincoln hinted that Nintendo already made that conclusion in his recent
interview with EGM. Now, what they plan to use asa medium for their next
machine is unknown. A magnetic media that will only be compatible with
NINTENDO's machine is the favourite right now since the 64DD appears to be
Nintendo's prototype for its next machine. To make development easier, I really
won't be surprised if Nintendo includes a ROM chip inside its next machine with
all the fonts, (Japanese and english, instrument samples and other goodies )
That way, the translation process could be much easier and developers won't have
to worry about wasting space for text. The space text take up might be trivial
for CD or DVDs, but if Nintendo goes with a magnetic medium, which stores
considerably less, the space saved from removing text in the game program could
be substantial. I believe Konami had to take out several voice samples to fit
in the western text to Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon.

Whatever do you mean? I have a full blown DVD made by the "BIG BOYS",
Phillips/Magnavox, and it cost $299.99 new last summer. I bought it at a time
when the store didn't even have DVD movies yet, now I see the same model I

are you sure that's the right adress? I went to it (or tried to anyway) and
it said conneftion failed site is unreachable. I'm using aol 4.0 so i'm
assuming it works with my web browser, unless the site is still buggy.

No I don't. It took hardly any time at all for me, and I only have a 33.6
modem. Still the fastest site I visit.

Each to their own...
But I'm curious why everyone is so desperate for a gold cartridge. OK, it's
good for collectors and might give you a warm glow, but some people seem to
be angry about it.

I went to get my used All-star Baseball 99 yesterday and they also had
Quake for only $25 (Canadian) so I talked her into giving me ASB 99 for $30
since I was buying both. Sometimes life is good, I'm up to 16 "Quality" carts
now. Still have to get Banjo though.

Subject: [N64] Hand Control Repair Question
This is a question for the people that have taken apart the thumbwheel on
the hand control for cleaning purposes.I think Trey has.
I have been finding mine main one getting a bit of a grinding or rubbing feeling
to it, so I thought I'd take it apart and clean it. I cleaned all the parts with
alcohol and put a very light grease on the pivot points of those little black
half circle pieces. I put it back together and found it better but still feels a
little bit like it's rubbing.
My guess is that the parts of the black pieces that rest on the pivot points
have worn down and the half circle pieces are actually beginning to rub on that
white rounded piece on the bottom.
First I wonder if you can order just those parts, secondly I'm wondering if
anyone has experienced this and been able to correct it, and how
Thanks in advance for any responses

I tried it also with aol 4.0 and couldn't get it to work untill this morning.
I had to type "www.ign64.com" instead of "www.ign64.com/jsmid/index.html".
Any way, don't waste your time it sucks hard

When a game is supposed to come out in August and it's September already and
it's still not out makes me feel that it was delayed. And I read it on
