Unless you haven't noticed, Trey, Vi, D Fentie, and I have all been changing
the subject's name for some time now. I'm sure others have, but I notcied a
trend with these certain people. And look at yourself. You just added
complaint to an already off-topic message. whenever I change the subject, I
change it completely.

<<ok, guys and girls, this may not seem like much of a complaint, but it bugs
me to no end when the subject says something like "snes sounds better than the

delete all the letters that dont interest me, and how am i gonna know if its
good or not if the subject says its about yoshi's story and its really about,
say, goldeneye. come on, just change a little in the subject box so the name

Well, you wanted to know what GB games are good, so here's the ones I like:
Wario Land II (it's a pretty fun sidescroller, one of the best scrollers for GB)
Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball (fun baseball game, I love playing a season in it and
building up my player's averages and stuff)
Tetris (gotta have this one, very addictive)
Motocross Maniacs (probably won't be able to find it, but if you can it's worth
getting even tho it only has about 8 tracks, reminds me of Excitebike which
I would LOVE to see have a sequel on the 64)
Monopoly (if you like Monopoly you'll like this, it's a lotta fun, what's esp. cool
is that you can play special saved games, where all the properties is bought up,
you have the same amount of property, each have hardly any money, etc.)
R.C. Pro AM (this is a great racing game made by the guys at Rare, it's cool
adding parts to your car and getting missiles to shoot at the other cars)
And then the only other one I can think of is Raging Fighter which is pretty
old, so hard to find, but a lotta of fun. Best GB fighting game I've played (which
I guess isn't saying much, but it's still good). Hope this helps..

This one lets you return software for another title of your choice if the one
you buy doesn't work, that happens mostly with old NES games since they don't
buy dirty carts or scratched CDs. They'll do the same for a console as well,
but you can't buy a Game Boy and if it doesn't work, take it back and get a
PlayStation, for systems you exchange it for the same kind; but that rarely
happens since they'll let you hook up a console before you buy it.
Most Pawn Shops I know of are never this cool.

Is this really necessary? This is about as pointless as telling what color car
you had in Top Gear Rally.

What? And the rockets from the rocket launcher (Turok 1) wasn't? I'm more
worried about clipping and non soft skin stuff than slowdown (frame rate).

No smartass, half of Turok 2's memory is dedicated to music. Think pal, if
Iguana could compress 200MB of music into 16MB of data, doncha think that
they'd use the same kind of compression (or some kind of compression) for
graphics & gameplay?

Don't worry about them not having enough room for all the levels and enemies
and stuff, they'll have 16 megabytes to fit it in which is twice as much as they
had for the first one..
And also I didn't hear this discussed, yet.. How does everyone think it'll compare
to Goldeneye? I mean sure, it'll look and sound much better. But will it actually
be a more fun game? I'm not too sure, yet, but I'm gonna have to say that
Goldeneye in the long run will probably be more fun, although this opinion could
easily change once I play T2. Just something to think about...

Wow you can name only three N64 games with exceptional sound. That really
isn't good if you think about it. What about Chrono Trigger, Axelay, Act
Raiser, Act Raiser 2, A Link to the Past, Gradius 3, Super Ghouls N Ghosts,
Castlevania 4, Castlevaia : Dracula X, Donkey Kong Country, Metroid 3, Star
Fox FX, DKC2, DKC3, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario RPG, Super Star Wars, Super
Empire Strikes Back, Super Return of the Jedi, Cybernator, Teenage Mutant
Ninja Turtles, and Street Fighter 2 Turbo? There's 22 games with exceptional
sond for the Super NES. I'm sure there's more, that's just off the top of my
head.

Well, I think there is a different type of compression involved when you are
doing sound or graphics. I'm not too up on my compression algorithms, but in
any type of compression, there is always a loss of detail. Some people have
come up with ways to get around that, coming up with very high quality
compressed music (ex: MP3's). However, a graphics compression like JPEG
loses a LOT of quality from the original uncompressed version. Also, on
things like level design, I don't think there is any way to compress that,
except for efficient programming.
Do any of you techies wanna correct me here? is it easier to compress sound
than graphics?

Well, most of the time I try to change the subject if my response is TOTALLY
in conflict with the title, but I usually do it by adding something on to
the end, because that helps people to maintain the thread. otherwide, they
might not figure out where the message that I responded to came from.

well, it's not really, if you think about it. The SNES has ALOT more games
than the N64, for one thing. Also, there are more N64 games with good sound:
Tetrisphere, Goldeneye, and the upcoming Turok II and Zelda and Rogue
Squadron. Also, remember that the N64 lacks a dedicated sound chip, which
the SNES had. This makes the N64 use the main processor to do sound, and
most lazy developers (coughMidwaycough) don't take the time to optimize the
sound.

Before I played GoldenEye, there was never any 1st peson shooters that I liked
enough to buy for one reason, I don't care for mindless shooting with the
limited objectives of the "find blue key, find blue door" mentality while
fighting aliens, monsters, and humans whose collective genius makes the guy
from Sling Blade seem like Einstein. GoldenEye was different with its partail
abonment of the "shoot first, ask questions later" mentality.
From what I've seen of the Turok 2 pics the game looks hot! How it plays,
that could be different, but if Iguana trys to imitate Rare's GoldenEye but
not to the point of a duplicate, I think Turok 2 will be one of my autumn
purchases.

Or lazy Nintendo for not putting a sound chip in the darn system. It doesn't
matter who you blame. I guess we'll have to wait until the N64 is old hat to
do a fair comparison.

That's cool! Just got one question, do you know the average time it takes to
beat both? Just wondering cuz I don't really like getting one-player games
anymore, but I might possibly get one of these two, if they would be really long
and have a lot of secret stuff that you would want to go back and get.. Thanks..

The BEST gameboy game EVER invented was The Legend of Zelda Link's

"cinematics" and amazing story plot with an off the wall wacky

A LOT. In my opinion, it is the best Zelda game invented so far... it
is simple amazing how they fit that entire game into only a 4 megabit

Yeah, the Falcon & TT amongst others. It's the ST he's talking about.

I don't know the exact time it takes to be honest, but it should
be at least 30 to 40 hours for both games, and there's plenty
of stuff to go back and find in both games too.

Wait a minute, you're saying Iguana have a 100:1 compression rate?

It is in Nintendo's eyes.

You can just about get away with 'lossy' compression on sound because of
the way the human ear works. You *cannot* use lossy compression on data &
code. Games do *not* use lossy compression on graphics - they're meant to
be viewed the way the artist drew them!
Sound lends itself well to compression too, due to its make up. Code does
not.
Oh, and not all compression algorithims are automatically lossy - ever used
WinZIP or LZH?

The N64 is a midi machine is the lack off space in the cartridge. Why
didn't nintendo use the CD instead then we could have CD audio, movies,
lot off speach, and bigger games. The cartridge is STONAGE
technology.People buys nintendo beacuse it's nintendo.
