Oops, sorry - didn't mean to be deliberately obscure :)

What you wanna do is leave it in with a code, an obscure one would be good,
like the New Zealand story one which was an amusing m...................s,

Well thought out name that, I can see why you've shortened it to S.V rather

Nothing to do with me anymore, I moved off SV about 6 months ago. I'll be

There are new screen shots at www.nintendo.co.jp
Even if you don't know how to read japanese, go there click on Nintendo64
and click on the first game listed there. It's Fzero and they show new
screen shots including some 4 player ones. it says 7/14/98
I like how theres like 10 cars on the screen at one time. there
are like 30 cars in the whole race. The courses reminds me of extreme G.
I hope it comes out here soon after the release in Japan since there
doesn't seem to be much translation needed for this game.

Yeah right! Castlevania : Symphony of the Night is the best 2-D Platformer on
any system, and it's on the PlayStation.
> Racing- N64 has MRC, Top Gear Rally, Diddy Kong Racing, San Francisco Rush,
> Extreme-G etc.
So. The PlayStation has Need for Speed 3 : Hot Pursuit. No racing game on the
N64 can compete with real cars and running from the cops! But if futuristic
racing is more up your alley then there's Wipe Out XL, a game that puts
Extreme G, and its Atari Jaguaresuqe backgrounds, to shame. The PlayStation
also has Test Drive 4, a racing game where you can drive the great Muscle Cars
of the 60s. 70s, 80s, and 90s. No N64 game can offer that. If you're gonna
race automobiles I think real cars that act like real cars, powersliding and
such like in NFS3, Test Drive 4, and the upcoming Gran Turismo is a lot funner
than driving on rooftops in wanna-be real cars (N64 SF Rush.) And I used to
think San Francisco Rush for the N64 was a GOD, but now I can't play it
because I'm so used to real car physics.
Top Gear Rally is ok, but I'd rather have Need For Speed V-Rally anyday. As
for Wave Race being a better Jet Ski game than Jet Moto 1 & 2, that makes
sense, only if the Jet Moto games were Jet Ski games; they're NOT! Unless jet
skis can navigate roller coasters! The Jet Moto games are not jet skis,
they're hover-bikes, plain and simple. While the water effects in Wave Race
looks better than any water the PlayStation can dish out, racing on water all
the time gets boring.
> Fighting - playstation wins here merely because of Tekken , but Mace and
Fighters > Destiny, Killer Instinct Gold and Mortal Kombat 4 are plenty.
Mace would have been ok if I hadn't tried to listen to it through my stereo.
No, Mace still sucks. Most 3-D fighing games do. I was never a fan of the
combo laden KI series or the psuedo-realistic Tekken series, but the
PlayStation still wins with fighting games because it's the only system in
America to have a solid lineup of Street Fighter games.
Lastly the PlayStation has huge advantage over the N64. I never thought I'd
see myself typing this, but ever since I got Final Fantasy 7 I never thought
of the wonders that could be achieved with full motion video. Yep, I'm another
N64 to PlayStation convert. That's not to say I got rid of the N64 or
anything, it's still here. The dust cover hasn't been moved for a few months
but it's still here.

Subject: [N64] Cart development price drops..but..
Okay...Nintendo slashes the price on cart production, hoping to give
publishers a little break when it comes to buying them, and the
consumers as well, because with lower production costs, publishers can
sell the games at a cheaper price...or so we hope.
We know companies aren't stupid. There in this business to make money.
Not to lose it. But who says that they want to drop prices?
Cruisn'USA, from my experience, has got to be one of the priciest games
in the world, yet it sold like nuts, despite the high price tag.
So...as long as the game is a big name, whoever can set the price
however they want, and still make a big profit, even more so now that
cart prices have dropped. Midway, EA...big names like that are going to
go for the wallet every step of the way, even if the carts are cheaper.
And people will still buy.
You can cry out "RIP OFF!" all you want, but I doubt it will change.
Supply and demand. They supply us games because we N64 owner's demand
them, and they're going to charge whatever the heck they want. Just my
view....

There's only one problem with the argument: Nintendo.
Remember that Nin are currently fighting tooth and nail to sell N64
units, so they sell their own games nice and cheap. Other companies
have their games sitting on shelves right next to these ones and the
paying public don't take too warmly to a =A360 game sitting next to a
=A340 one. Especially since they're both new releases.
What I believe will happen is that, since companies know that they
can sell games with high price tags, the cartridge size will
increase, which should be a good thing.

I don't think that this is a fair example. When Cruisn' USA came out, there
were very few N64 games out, and they all retailed for premium dollar.
Cruisn' USA was also the first racer out, and the only racer for a while,
which greatly helped its sales.
In today's market, we have a much greater choice in games to buy. Many
of the games are competitively priced, especially Nintendo published titles.
I feel that game publishers will follow Nintendo's lead and choose to
maintain the same amount of profit per game, while lowering the game
price, in order to sell more units and make more money in this way.

This is a valid point, but... only for a small portion of the market. Those of
us on this list, and other "serious" gamers, will usually pay a premium for
the better game. *IF* ASB is truly a better game than KG Jr., then we will
not mind paying $10 more to get it. However, the "casual" gamer, the
parent or aunt buying a game for their child/relative, the general gaming
populace, will weigh the price factor more heavily than we might.
It will be interesting to see how these 2 games sell, given that ASB
*seems* to have the edge on KG Jr., while KG Jr. is $10 less.

No, this is NOT another Bomberman. Hudson's only Bombermans are
Bomberman 64 and Bomberman Hero. This is rumored to resemble BM in many
ways, but it is actually an all new game.

Yeah, that's what I read on the preview of it on VideoGameSpot. I think it's
just 2 player in the arcade. Yeah, that would rule if it was 4 player..
Hey, you heard about Command & Conquer 3D coming out for the N64?
That's gonna be so cool!

Dragon Cave and Deadly fall have many branching paths, some shortcuts.
Mountain Village has a shortcut in the beggining- stay off the main path in
the beginning , goto the left, there is a short fall, to a short cut. Use Z
and angle your board to laand properly, hit z about a second before you land,
if your still haveing problems use a board with a high flex rating, like the
scout ltd 162.

Command and Conquer? Never was interested in that game. I wonder if it will
support multiplayer capability. Does anyone know if it does? Oh, I also
heard rumor about Zelda being 39.95. Anyone hear this also? Later.

HAHAHA! Zelda being 39.95?!?! Hehehe....the biggest cart for the N64 (double
any current game) going to be 1/3 less than any other game? IGN64 said we should
HOPE for the low price of $65....but it may even be more than that.
