Hey the way i see it is, if any other companies had the oppertunity they
would have done the same thing. And you can't just knock companies down,
you have to be very good at what you do. And Bill Gates is the best at what
he does.

But what exactly does he do? He makes money by either buying out or running
out his competitors. Obviously he is not motivated by innovation or creating
compelling product. He's just in it for the market share and the money. He
is the epitome of capitalism gone wacky. The guy is evil!

Dexter says about the PSX2, "It is certainly intriguing to see Namco go
through such a difficult time pulling off Ridge Racer V as a launch title
(with its decidedly unimpressive graphics and lack of speed) when it did
wonders with Soul Caliber, a launch title for the Dreamcast."
Soul Calibur, that's Calibur without a trace of an "e," was not a Dreamcast
launch title, it was an American Dreamcast launch title. The Dreamcast
launched in late 1998 in Japan and Soul Calibur came out in 1999 in Japan, as
well as 1999 in America. Namco had a considerable amount of time to get to
know the Dreamcast for Soul Calibur, more than they did for RR5.

When the internet first went mainstream Bill Gates wrote it
off as being a fad that wouldn't last, but when he realised
he was wrong microsoft came in and tryed to dominate by
creating MSN as a rival to the internet. Luckily no-one
wanted to be controlled so MSN didn't out do the net.

Dance my puppets, DANCE!! Mwah ahahaahahah..........um excuse me.
I just think that's the way the business world works. Now, Bill Gates has
taken that to a new low......but what can you do. I would like to see
closer competition between companies, it make for better products.
Microsoft needs a competitor to keep it motivated to inovate. The best
example would be the console race. If Sony completely wiped out all it's
competitors, like Microsoft did, there would be no one to keep them on there
toes and moving. They would probly just push out better versions of what's
already out there...like microsoft.

Wrong, wrong, and wrong. MSN has always been an ISP from the start. MSN
was to compete with AOL. MSN has always been better than AOL, if if
Microsoft lost that battle.
You're wrong. Most every single one of you stating negative things about
Microsoft is wrong. Does it really matter? No. But it makes you look like
fools. Whatever the subject, whatever it be Microsoft or avacados, spouting
off incorrect facts is a waste of everyone's time.
As for Bill Gates being a legend? Maybe. But not directly for Microsoft.
Probably for his Gates Foundation which has already donated billions to
needy organizations and schools.

Why do you guys always have to bash one system or another? Are you just
insecure about your decision to buy the system you currently own?
Some systems have better games, but each system has great games. The
processing speed or the graphics or the sound etc. really don't matter. If
a game provides you with satisfaction then it's a good game. I think we
should wait, see how the X-Box develops, and then decide if it's a good
system. If it crashes then we won't buy it. If it turns out to be
reasonably priced and one hell of a system then there is no reason we
shouldn't buy it.(Unless of course the games are crappy).

See that is just what we are all talking about...how it is that some seem to
like the guy is beyond me. He has never really had a truly innovative idea
of his own. He waits till someone else has an idea then he steals/copies it
and now that Microsoft is so large, he can just use the company's sheer
wealth to drive down the truly innovative small companies. So one hand I
think he is plain evil, but on the other I have to admire the sheer
ruthlessness and effectiveness of his business strategies.

It's not that. I have a N64 (why I joined the list), PlayStation, Saturn,
Dreamcast, Game Boy Color, Net Yaroze, NES, Genesis, Super NES, Jaguar, 400,
1200XL, Virtual Boy, and a PC running a bunch of Microsoft stuff. I bash the
X-Box, more like question the X-Box, because out of all the things listed
I've had the most problems with the ones that have Microsoft written all over
them. I'm aware that companies can change from releasing crap after crap to
something great (Chrysler) but I didn't stop questioning Dodge until I drove
an Intrepid. Oh, a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI is a four cylinder and a
Ford Mustang GT is an 8. Which one is more powerful again?

Oh yeah, the new issue of Next Gen has a big spread on all sorts of classic
consoles - Fairchild, Vectrex, Bally, Telstar...you name it. Definately
check it out.

The developer is Genki. It's a little known company but this game has
AWSOME graphics, and a good story line. It also has a Pokemon type theme
where you catch minions - there is a total of 171 minions to catch. You can
battle them with your friends too so it's got good replay value.
These in my opinion are the types of games that the N64 is lacking. Just
good solid games. Jade Cocoon is only one CD, so it could easily have been
put out for the N64 as well.

I thought the dreamcast was an 128 bit system. What is the PS2? 128 bit
right? Dolphin? The x-box is only 32? Isn't that the original PSX, 32
bit?

The Dreamcast has a 64-Bit CPU but a 128 Bit data bus. The PSX2 has a 128-Bit
CPU. Both the PSX and X-Box have 32-Bit CPUs. But on the same token, both the
PSX and Virtual Boy have 32-Bit CPUs. Not sure about Dolphin.

I wasn't talking about like/connection quality. If had chosen read closer,
I was ranting how some could not even connect to the service cuz of those
busy signals....then someone else said that its cuz of the phone lines....i
was saying its not the lines....its AOL

Looks like some AOL users will get a chance to get access to highspeed
connections, if Time-Warner's Road Runner service makes some moves with
AOL...A while back, I read a new hybrid version of AOL is being developed
specifically for high-speed connections (able to stream
movies..music...etc...).

Well, for those of us ho would like more control over their mail, AOL's mail
really sucks....I could make a huge list of why OE is better (AOL's filing
cabinet is a poor substitute for a real filing/ruling system), but then
someone could point out some things in which OE sucks at (malicious e-mail,
for example). All I can say is that OE gives power users more options than
the regular AOL mail reader.

But do those chatrooms send relentless streams of e-mail straight to your
mailbox? AOL's chatrooms do.... Ever gotten 200 porn ads in your box
overnight?
