Know what's funny? It wasn't long ago when people were syaing that the console was going to be dead in a few years, and that the PC would take over. With the introduction of the DC, the PS2, X-Box, and soon the Dolphin, it seems more and more that the PC, not the console, will die off as a viable gaming platform. Consoles are just more profitable. And now that Sega.com's SegaNet will launch this September 7th, it seems that games are finally coming into their own. Interesting.

How long till we get games like Diablo and Everquest on consoles? The full
online complement included? I'll venture and guess the generation after
next(2005/6). But then PC's will have something that consoles won't
whatever that might be. PC's will also stay ahead at least for the near
future

Subject: [N64] Nintendo at the top
Date: 23 Apr 2000 18:32:04 -0600
The Nintendo 64 is once again listed as the best selling home game console. Nintendo credits the release of the brightly colored 'funtastic' housings as well as the immense popularity of their Pokemon franchise.
Nintendo maintains a 97% market share for hand held game systems with Game Boy Color, and according to recent sales data from the NPD group, the Nintendo 64 has captured 46% of the console market since the March 6 launch of the colorful systems. Playstation holds the second slot at 43%. Dreamcast controls the remaining 11%.
"During March, sales of the Nintendo 64 jumped 30 percent from the same month a year ago, while those of our nearest competitor plunged 32 percent," says Peter Main, Nintendo of America's executive vice president, sales and marketing. "It's a vindication of our corporate mandate to continue supplying our customers with even more fun for their Nintendo systems."

theres nothing wrong with pokemon at all. but i do agree with dave to some extent. Miyamoto is a genius.
yoshis iland was really good. yoshis story was cool, but disapointing, too short, too easy, and it lacked alot of the fun that island had. i kinda agree that this may be because miyamoto didnt have too much to do with the making of the game. but dont discount majora yet, ocarina of time was very cool, and i think that majoras mask at least looks promising. --chuck--

thats true, maybe the game would be cooler if they werent adding this wierd timeline thing. i guess theres nothing wrong with having to do things to fit this timeline, but it certainly does sound frustrating.
