  99. I was pissed off at the BBC's coverage over here for a
  100. diff reason - the sound quality was absolutely crap on
  101. the first load of songs he did and he only got about 5
  102. seconds of coverage there too. But they were much
  103. better on the song with Angie Stone as they had a
  104. dedicated camera for almost the whole song and the
  105. sound quality even improved a bit for that
  106. performance. Pity I couldn't hear the Stars single
  107. again but overall not too bad and worth staying up to
  108. 4am for :)

  166. The coverage was awful, we all agree on that but you
  167. all must of thought at least on some level that the
  168. man was going to get screwed. I did at least given
  169. that they announced just about every other performer
  170. that was on but not even a mention of Moby. That in
  171. its self was wrong. But then give the mention of all
  172. the dance music being played and seeming to be in the
  173. spot light at the walk in at the start of the closing
  174. you would think that they would at least give the
  175. world a look at our small bald hero.

  253. there's other people who used "brainstorm" back then, which is why the
  254. brainstorm stuff was also released as "mindstorm" (the label that
  255. liscenced it already had an act called "brainstorm".
  256. it's prolly one of those other people.
  257. but one can never be 100% sure, so have them check for it mentioning moby
  258. by full name, richard m. hall, it usually listed him like that for
  259. production back then.

  464. got to vaguely hear some of Moby's new stuff.  It sounded real great from 
  465. what I could hear!  Shame about the NBC coverage (or lack thereof).

  580. First: The link to "Advance! Radio" has invalid JavaScript, that SwapImage
  581. script thingy doesn't work. Could be because I have an ancient version of
  582. IE4 :)

  584. Then: I really don't want to install Quicktime. Quicktime is for a Mac, it
  585. totally f*ckes up a MS Windows machine!

  587. Finally: Why didn't Mute encode it to mp3? Mp3 is a cross-platform easily
  588. streamable standard! Encoding it to .mov would be just as evil as a .wma
  589. stream :)

  609. Moby played at the closing ceremony NOT to promote songs of his forthcoming album
  610. 18!! - although his record company might disagree. He performed there to give the
  611. athletes a good time! His part was to entertain the public and to invite the
  612. athletes to come down into the ring and have a good time - dancing. So please
  613. stop jammering about "not enough exposure for 'our' little baldy" ... And for the
  614. record: he played "We are made of stars" and "In my heart" (with miss Stone) of
  615. the new album ...

  619. I don't know zip about the (MS)NBC covering ... I bet you guys get loads of
  620. commercial breaks inbetween. At least that's the way we from Europe guess things
  621. are done overthere ... I stayed up a good deal of the night to see the show
  622. (Dutch television, 3:00 - 4:30 AM), and captured Moby's performances onto my
  623. harddisk (Pinnacle TV card). The footage as shown on TV had a lousy sound quality
  624. (soundboard αnd live echoing inside the stadium at the same time), but still, in
  625. my humble opinion, a nice show ... The part with the 'stickmen' and the 'neon
  626. paint' reminded me somewhat of the opening ceremony of Albertville in '92, which

  639. to you fans. Bart, is your FTP still up and running? And most of all, capable of
  640. holding about 400 Mb of avi files?? (Or 300 Mb of zipped avi?)
