I am most definitely on edge but luckily it appears that Former General
Colin Powell is operating through this situation with the tact and
diplomacy it requires. I think both countries realize that no one wants
this to turn to bloodshed and certainly one of us will blink.
Interesting stories out of the white house about bush....
He was advised by the foreign policy staff not to call China directly in
order to not "give the impression that the White House was in crisis
mode." -----Yeah right...they knew he would say something stupid and he
knew it too so he wisely stayed out of it...
Bush's press secretary said how pleased he was with the way Bush was
handling press conferences regarding this issue. Especially in the way he
said his piece quickly and left "before the press had time to ask him
questions, possibly leading to an error in judgement in the answers he
gave..." ---- see above comment...
Friedman
P.S. Everyone go freakin see Momento...what a brilliant, stellar piece of
story telling...fantastic score as well...

i agree with you on the missy elliot single..i may never buy a missy elliot
album but she is an innovator (so to speak) and i like what she's done..i
will definitely get the single...Bush is a confused man being told what to do

I just got the book today. I skimmed through it earlier today and now i'm
through to the third chapter.
Martin, congratulations. Congratulations on such a great idea.
I like how you go through a history of trends in music history and relate on
certain happenings like the anti-disco fire at a baseball game.
I like the artwork, the name of the book, the photographs and the general
organization of the book.
Thank you for sharing,
Sharmila.

so far, it's him, new order, paul oakenfold, incubus, the roots, carl cox,
and outcast. he also says that there'll be a press conference on april 23rd
to announce more artists and dates.
(i can't believe he's touring again.)

wow, what do you all think about this?
hopefully it'll come near to ct.... i want to see

ROCK!
DJ PAUL
MOBY PLANS WHALE
OF A TIME ON
SUMMER TOUR
MOBY has confirmed details of a
summer tour of the US, which
will feature a stellar supporting
line-up including NEW ORDER,
OUTKAST and THE ROOTS, it
has been reported.
According to Billboard in the US,
the tour will commence on July
11 and call at 16 US cities before
August 5. DJ support will come
from Carl Cox and Paul
Oakenfold.
Speaking about the mini-festival,
Moby said: "My reason for doing
this is that there is a lot of music
in the world that I love that does
not always get the appropriate exposure."
The finalised details of the event, including venues
and ticket prices will be
announced later in the month.
NME.COM revealed last month New Order were planning a
series of live dates
with Moby to launch their as-yet-untitled new studio
album later in the year.
The band are also planning live dates in the UK.
Their new single, 'Crystal', is
anticipated in "June or July", according to bassist
Peter Hook.
Moby Drafts Outkast, New Order For
Area: One
Moby has recruited
hip-hop
heavyweights
Outkast and the
Roots, the newly
reactivated New
Order, modern rock
act Incubus,
and internationally
renowned DJs
Paul Oakenfold and
Carl Cox for
the inaugural Area:
One festival
tour, which will
hit 16 North
American markets from July 11 to
August 5,
Billboard.com can reveal.
The idea for the festival came
from Moby, who sees it
as a return to the early,
cutting-edge days of the
now-defunct Lollapalooza. "My
reason for doing this is
that there is a lot of music in
the world that I love that
does not always get the
appropriate exposure," he said
in a statement.
Area: One will primarily visit
major amphitheaters, but
will hit what organizers describe
as "some specially
selected outdoor venues." In
addition to the traditional
concert stage, the event will
sport an air-conditioned
tent with a unique quadraphonic
sound system.
Portions of the proceeds from each
show will be
donated to local charities.
Additional details, including
the full lineup, will be revealed
at an April 23 press
conference in New York.
The shows will be the only
performances of the year
for Moby, who is making a final
push for his
multi-platinum 1999 V2 album
"Play." Outkast
continues to reap the rewards of
its fourth
LaFace/Arista album, "Stankonia,"
which is No. 30 on
The Billboard 200 in its 22nd
week.
As for New Order, the pioneering
U.K. synthpop act
is set to release its first new
studio album in more than
eight years this September. New
remixes of the track
"True Faith" by Richard Morel and
Philip Steir are
currently spinning in clubs
worldwide.
So now it's official!
The AREA : ONE festival will actually be
happening. I'm excited. We have
myself, Outcast, Paul Oakenfold, Incubus, The
Roots, Carl Cox and New
Order all confirmed.
We're having a press conference on April 23rd
in NYC to announce
additional artists and specific tour dates.
Whoopee!
-Moby

It was intense, but the ending could have been better. I give it a 7 1/2
