Hey Paul and Everybody
I really agree to what you say
I mean "fuck you" must be damn offensive to some people
I use it as like saying "hey" so. I'm sorry to anyone
who gets offended by my cussing/cursing/swearing.
Man also... One more thing I want to get off my chest
Is Moby ever going to do an actual DANCE album
not that Alternative/ Everything Influences me experimental album
I ain't saying it's bad but.. I thought MOBY = DANCE aka
MASTER OF BEATS Y'ALL
you know what I mean?
later and sorry to who ever get's or was offended by my message

I think Carlos Santana sold out in a way.
Last time I went to his concert he didn't play
much of his old stuff trying to please his new fans.
Moby had respect before he did the colab w/ Gwen
well I don't care much because I want to see how
his next album is and how his quality of music is going to be

I agree...why is collaboration a negative thing? Jazz musicians have been
doing it for ages, like, switching, playing with different people, different
vocalists, styles etc. And why shouldn't Moby be rich and famous? It's
probably fun, better than being poor and miserable. My husband made a good
point, though. He said that he thought Moby was exploiting himself in a
rather grotesque manner and that a low-key approach to riches and fame would
have been more suitable. I tend to agree. Anne

no. it's the paradigm of indie people that
unless it's underground, it's crap. note: if the
artist/group doesn't change after making money
(eg: good example - radiohead. bad example -
sugar ray), then there is no reason to get angry
if they are making money. moby hasn't sold out.
he now has the ability to tour more extensively
and see more of his fan base, hence the tour that
never ends. he still makes the music that he
does. nothing has changed, only the
'indie-perception' has changed. i fucking hate
elitism.
> Do YOU know the specifics of his contract?
bingo. neither moby nor v2 knew he would get
this big. now people are criticizing him because
of clauses in the contract that allow v2 to make
these ridiculous re-releases and packaging scams.
my only regret is that moby may have more albums
to fulfill, and more ways to exploit him. moby =
good. v2 = bad.

it's only for informational purposes that i'm on
here, but the discussion can be very good. which
is when i usually get involved.

the only reason i didn't jump ship to the 'real
moby list' is because that kind of route leads to
moby masturbation: talking about our favorite
songs, albums, how much we love moby, and such.
the difference here is good, and venting like you
do is wonderful to see. simply moving to an
'exclusive moby list' is an effort to alienate
and become elitist.
note to everyone: be civil. don't hate. talk
about topics which you can factually back up in
some way. if you think moby is god, then great.
if you don't agree with moby's exploitation or
presupposed greed, then do so in a civil and
factual manner. don't 'think' about what you are
saying. i don't care what you think, i want to
know what you 'know'. read that again if it
doesn't make any sense. then e-mail me for an
explanation if necessary.
