well, cascade and accelerator were repressed, so to speak, on astralwerks,
and i think the original (UK virgin records) was rerelased later, too, but

yeah, but the way snake hips starts and the way amoeba ends are completely
different.  actually, the stuff from the intro of that version of snake
hips is "recycled" and used in the song "cow" on astralwerks' excursions
in ambience 4 compilation.

definitely, but then you'd still be missing the song KAI.
it's a shame there wasn't a better way to put the new tracks from
the US version together with the tracks from the UK (black) version.
what would have been nicer is if they would have put the three
new tracks all on the FOSOL and the ramblings of a madman single,
but then people who already had the black version wouldn't have
had to buy the white version, too (money grubbing scum...).

no segue?  egypt into KAI on the US version of ISDN - that's
no segue, but they had a decent segue from snake hips to smokin
japanese babe and then into amoeba, IMO.

some of the stuff on there is really great.  my favorites are
tks.2-4 - i think they make a nice little suite.  i'd heard
mountain goat and in mind on virgin's "a brief history of ambient"
series, but swab leads into mountain goat quite nicely.
it's cool to hear the peter gabriel sample in fat cat (i think)
from the last temptation of christ soundtrack.

I have 2 quite old remixes by FSOL from 1992 for the UK act Nomad.
I bought a whole bunch of 1991-1992 CD singles for $10 recently and
I only found out I had these remixes after I gave each single a listen and
took the time to look at the credits.

5:31  Nomad - Your Love Is Lifting Me (Smart Systems Mix)
5:05  Nomad - Your Love Is Lifting Me (Deep Field Mix)

The Smart Systems Mix is a banging techno version, the Deep Field Mix is
a bit softer.

The other stuff is just regular album tracks on compilations:

I thought WHE was only 1 part with remixes. Is there a "single" like Cascade
and My Kingdom of this?  I'll have to look into that :)

The history of the music industry is filled with stories like this. Two that
immediately spring to mind are Earthling whose second album was kept by EMI,
never to see the light of day, and the late great Sandals who met a similar
fete with their second album. This time that label was London. Chinese
Torture is just not good enough for the labels who stick to the out dated
clause in the contract that gives them sole rights to the recorded work.
Does anyone else know of artists who have faced similar problems?
