I don't know why it's such a big problem for Elissa to actually calm
down and just delete the messaeges that are too long if she doesn't want to
read them. And don't ever mess with Matt, cause Eric the RED has got his

Matt, duuuuuuuuuude - I am agnostic too! I was brought up Lutheran and
read the entire bible (except for all of the hymns and stuff) 3 times cover
to cover. I have seen alot of religions and what THEY feel the right
beliefs, but I just don't know what's right. Most of the religions out
there are culturally and racially biased. I mean, if gays are wrong, why
did God allow them to be created? Ugh, I just don't think that (IF THERE IS
A GOD) we should have to go to a certain type of church with it's views and
rules marring what (IF THERE IS A GOD) God wanted so we could actually
worship Him and not be turned away from Him (IF THERE IS A HIM). Well you
rock dude, that's all I have to say.

Dude. Don't hate.
I'm not Mormon but I've friends who are. I'm tired of everyone bagging on them
because of the polygamy background. They don't do it any more, and it is
*strongly* prohibited in the church. It's ridiculous that people just can't
get over it already. The practice of polygamy is in the Bible. So is the
practice of slavery. (which I mention not because of Mormons but because of
America's past, which I imagine most of us have connections to.) Does that
make the practice of either one right contemporarily, or ever? No. Does it
show us where things could have originated? Yes. Is it time to move on and
forgive and forget already? I believe so.

People who criticise the LDS church probably 1) have no good friends who are
LDS, 2) have never been to a service where they could see how Christian the
service really is, 3) have never fully explored the church's roots in the
hebrew bible and the new testament and thus found just how much of the
structure and doctrine is derived exactly from both texts.
You know, it's this kind of judging that makes Moby hesitate calling himself
"Christian." Who would want to identify themselves with that? I sure wouldn't.
Elissa
PS If anyone is wondering, Religion is one of my courses of study at
university. I don't prescribe to any particular religion, though I have
studied and gone to services for the Jewish, Catholic, Protestant (Baptist and
Methodist), LDS (i.e. Mormon), and various Eastern religions. I was raised
Catholic by hippie-ish parents until about age 13.

Well, if others on the list would be more persistent of not quoting the whole
email to their replies, then the emails would not build up as quickly in
replies, and you would have less to delete. I don't now how you deleted it all,
but if you did it by holding down the delete key, the easier way is to
highlight it all and delete it that way. IMO that doesn't take long, but that
doesn't mean it doesn't for you. :-) Or you could find where it is in your
Preferences where it says "Quote original message in replies" (or something
like that), and uncheck the box (or undot the dot, whatever), and then when you
hit "reply" the email you're replying to won't automatically be quoted in your
reply.
But, I think this issue has pretty much been beat into the ground. Thank you,
though, for attempting to correct the problem.
