please give Honey 2000 a chance via MP3 once it's
pimped out to the format before passing judgment!
 I'm kind of interested by this collaboration,

For the first time in my life, I am completely
for MP3ing an entire disc and distributing it as
far as possible.  Moby's pocketbook be damned,
this is a dirty, dirty trick by the record
companies.  It is a sad, sad thing here.

Yep, he did the same thing at Chelmsford.

She has a wonderful voice.

I'm sure she was in the Urban Cookie Collective (most
famous for "The Key, The Secret" back in 1993), but
I'm hoping someone can confirm / deny this, as I am
still not too sure.

don't get me wrong, showing support for musicians and the music we love is
awesome and meaningfull, but I think that the money i've spent on cd's that
goes to the record company as well as the artist is enough financial support
from me to them.   Maybe we can all mail him a card or something of the sort?
 Like mentioned before his birthday is coming up!

Hey Peoples,
Just another quickie chez moi.
Firstly.. I was listening to "Early Underground" the other day and it all
just clicked in how Moby builds on his early stuff to get to where he is
today.. so many of the songs on there can be reflected in his later stuff..
anyway.. stating the obvious I know.. but ahhh somebodies got to do it..
ALSO...
Just by coincidence.. today on FOX, there was the classic movie "Rhapsody in
Blue".. about George Gershwins life.. ANYWAY.. because I recently heard that
'Rhapsody in Blue' is one of Mobys favourite pieces, I decided to watch the
whole (painful-HAR HAR) experience. EVENTUALLY they played the song, and
well, even though it was ok.. its just not what I figured Moby would go
for... has anyone heard it before? Can I have some feedback here.. can
someone enlighten me as to why this piece of music is so great? Am I just
being naive? or is there something truly great about it that I am missing?
Okly dokly.. I'll leave it up to all of you...

Musical tastes differ, if you don't like it you don't like it.  Beyond that,
it marks a milestone in American music, the incorporation of jazz into
traditional music, Gershwin was haled as a genius for his combinations of
classical music with jazz instruments and structure.

If you ever get the chance to see Fantasia 2000 see it.  Disney chose it as
one of their pieces, it was my favorite segment in the whole film.

Subject: (mobility) Moby at the BBC

Hi Everyone,

Got the lucky opportunity to see Moby recording a TV special at the BBC after
winning a completion with 700 other lucky people. One of the main reasons is
that 'Play' is the best selling album in the UK this year.

I went with my girlfriend who loves Moby, plus two friends who had never seen
Moby live before. They were completely blown away by the experience. They
loved it. Couldn't thank us enough for taking them.

The audience were all total Moby fanatics.

He played 18 songs in total. Also, Moby played a grand piano on Hymn and
'Every time you Touch Me, with a string section. He really proved what a
genius he was in the completely brilliant way he played the piano like a
classically trained musician.

He also had three backing singers.

Also, he played 'Porcelain' twice. Once the normal way, including live string
section, and then later in the set acoustically.

I've never heard him play 'When it's Cold I'd Like to Die' before, but he
sang it by himself on acoustic guitar and string section.

i actually got to see the filming of later... with jooles holland

brilliant!!!

moby performed around 18 songs for tv including accustic versions of hymn,
everytime you touch me, (on panino and violin)
an alternative version of porcelain, and when its cold i like to die (on
acustic guitar),
new dawn fades, honey, bodyrock, bring back my happiness?, james bond theme,
among others

and feeling so real was the encore

sorry i cant remember all the songs but i have been up since four and had my
plane diverted to a different airport ;-(

is this going to be on the dvd?

the audience was brilliant except hen moby played new dawn fades (they just
stood there)
there was a problem with feedback during hymn so moby stopped until it was
repaired then started again which was verry nice

also while playing the normal version of porcelain there were 'computer
problems' as moby said so he restarted again

jooles holland guested on some songs but i dont remeber what they were
(honey i think and why does my heart feel so bad?)

if i remember anything else i will let you know and the release date was
unfonfirmed at the time but there was speculation about an october airing
