could appreciate that. I know kids whose parents smoke pot WITH them. I think
you are greatly overestimating parental impact anyway. I did drugs before my
father told me tried them, and I did them after. My mother had never even
tried cigarettes.  Some parents don't have that much of a monumental effect
on their kid's decision to do drugs. Chill out.

I knew something sounded snakey about "Beautiful
Day" being released on 9 Oct. And I finally
figured out what it was today:

Not only is U2 releasing "Beautiful Day" in two
parts internationally that day (when, Oh when,
will US releases be announced?) But also on that
day, Moby is re-releasing the track "Honey" from
his groundbreaking, inspirational cd PLAY as a
single, this time with vocals contributed by R&B
chanteuse Kellis. Also, reportedly on the cd are
other tracks from PLAY, including "Why Does My
Heart Feel So Bad?" (with new vocals contributed
by Sir Elton John) and "South Side" (the original
"pre-PLAY" recording with Gwen Stefani of No
Doubt singing the lead). Then on 23 Oct. Mute is
re-releasing the entire PLAY album in the UK as a
2cd with remixes and previously unreleased
materials.

So, it looks like my credit card will be busy to
UK vendors. Fortunately, there is in existance
www.action-records.co.uk which is, without doubt,
the least expensive and most service oriented
record dealer I've ever found on the web. You
kind of have to know what you're looking for when
you go there, but for imports, you simply can't
beat their prices and service.

But I have to say, new U2 and Moby (hands down my
two favorite artists, bar none) cds in the month
of October is going to make that a special month
in deed.

being there early to get a good spot in the front is great cuz he interacts
with his fans a lot..especially at a venue like Hammerstein....i've met Moby
after shows and he's always patient with the people who stick around for a
few to meet him...i'm gonna be there at the Hammersteing so i hope to see
moby and you lainey...peace...elie

Sometimes I have terrible luck... Today I received a letter from the BBC
congratulating me on being chosen to join the audience for a special
recording of Jools Holland's Later programme, dedicated to Moby!

Sadly it's next Tuesday in London and there's absolutely no way I can go at
that time. Also there is no way that I can let anyone else have the tickets
because they are in my name and they want ID at the entrance!!

So I'll just have to watch it on the tele like everyone else.....

This could get longwinded and repetitive .. so you have been warned in
advance... it is extracts on an article from SAIN magazine here in Oz:

"He is a strange mixture of pointy-head NY intellectual and flappy drama
queen. On one hand he's a drug abstaining vegan God-botherer, filling his LP
liner notes with essays about vegetarianism, Buddhism, prisoners rights and
Christianity that are every bit as passionate and contradictory as the music
contained within. On the other, he admits to accoassionally enjoying

When referring to the Gospal lyrics on Play he said "I didn't choose the
vocals because they were gospel based... so much as how they made me feel."

When still talking about Play he says "this strange, cuddly, mournful
mongrel of a record is getting listened to by a huge number of people."

He says about his current tour "our show, at the risk of being immodest, is
a pretty wonderful spectacle."

In the 13 months since play was released.. Moby has performed over 160 gigs
and done over 2000 interviews. (WOW.. can we really blame him for
occassionally losing it??!! hahaha)

MOby finds Buddha somehting of a babe... :o)

Ironically, the warehouse where Moby lives used to be a huge meatpacking
facility.

And I LOVE this one. I'm not religious but it sounds nice...
"Religion is like getting married. You meet someone, you fall in love with
them and you commit yourself to them saying 'I want to develop myself with
this person'. ALl the while you're aware that there are other attractive
people in the world, but for some reason this person fits."

PS: George Gershwins "Rhapsody in blue" is one of his favourite pieces of
music...

Ok well, there was more to the interview.. all stuff we already know... oh,
and I might have ripped out one of the pics of him with his arm draped over
his head in a lovely sepia colour, meaning that I can't quote any of the
article on the flipside.. har har... ahh I'm SUCH a girl...
