listed in 1990:

looks like someone didnt survive Y2K! ;P

"Moby To The Max" was i guess one of the werking
titles of what is now known as "Mobysongs 1993-1998"

and someone should have put 2000 there but instead
they put 1990. cause well computers suck.

I know we have moved on from the whole "Moby is Mine!"
"He's so cute!" thing, but there was a certain article
in a magazine that made me laugh.
I'm in between jobs at the moment so I work a boring
job as a receptionist at a law firm.  So I basically
read whatever magazines I can get my hands on.
It sadly seems to be all I talk about on this list
too.
ANYWAY.. in the july issue of mademoiselle, There's a
spread that starts.."In Bed With...Five musicians
whose talents never lie down on the job.  Here, the
best and babe-est take a breather and riff on new
tunes and tours."  The "babest" musicians include
Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind, Rufus Wainwright,
Tyrese, Tim James, and Moby.  I don't know, it just
cracks me up to hear moby described as "babest".  It's
sad that after so many years of beautiful music, he's
mentioned as a babe musician.  So if anyone cares what
the little blurb about him says, read below.  If not,
then don't.  If you didn't care to begin with...then
this was a waste of time huh?

"Considering the reign of his current record, Play, at
the top of most music critics' lists, Moby, 34, is
surprisingly modest. 'I am very surprised that the
record has done as well as it has.  I mean, I make
records in my bedroom-they're personal, idiosyncratic
bodies of work.  It's hard for me to conveive of being
listened to in all these different contexts-driving to
work, on vacation, having sex-because I've made a lot
of music that's never left the confines of my
bedroom.' Lest you think that the prince of
pop-soul-techno who does everthing himself (writing

Here's some more info about the Sunshine Theater in lovely albucrappy:
Very intimate.  Did I mention intimate?  If you've dreamed of meeting moby,
this will definitely be the place.  I got to meet all of John Linnell's
family when TMBG was here, his uncle, aunt, grandmom, and parents, and they
were the ones who told me where he was staying (up the street at the La
Posada hotel). SO I went over to the hotel and met John Linnell and talked
to him as much as I could.

Then leaving, his family showed up at the hotel and all said hello to me.
They were honestly much nicer than Mr. Linnell himself.

So, come to abq, see moby, hopefully meet Moby, have a good time.

I just saw the Porcelain video on VH1.  I had been watching their Insomniac videos (or whatever it's called) at 12:00 am, which by the way, has clips from Possibly Maybe by Bjork in the opening logo thing which is just perfect, but I didn't see it.  They are obsessed with Don Henly and Faith Hill.  Anyway, I saw it on their new music program.  The VJ said something about wanting to kiss his little, bald head.  I guess Moby's considered a stud now.  The video was ok, not that great, they interupted it with a clip of Moby talking about the freedom of making electronic music, which was weird.  It had him sitting in the backseat of a car with no driver, just riding around.  I want to see the original even though some of you said it was crap, I'm still curious.

ok, I have a driving lesson now.

Just in case you were wondering, our version pretty
much sounds the same as Moby's, apart for the fact
that A; I use more distortion on my guitar and B; damn
it, we are heavier!!!

Well I wouldn't go that far.  I've really enjoyed all the Moby videos I've seen especially Run On and Natural Blues.  And this Porcelain wasn't the original so maybe the 1st version was better.  I don't think this song can be ruined for me.  I heard it a lot on mainstream radio a few weeks ago, it seems like they've stopped playing it now, and I still love it.  So even if the video gets on TRL and MTV plays it a lot and I happen to see it all the time, I think I'll still like the song.  And by the way, what the hell happened to AMP and 120 MINUTES?  Just wondering.

OK, I'll stop rambling.

I wish I could see the Moby videos to which you all refer. I've only ever
seen WDMYFSB once and that's it. Moby isn't main stream enough to play on
national NZ tv. And where I live I can't even get our one satellite tv feed
(which features a whole ONE music channel) so no Moby on vid for poor me.
(Yes a country with no MTV, VH1, Muchmusic etc etc)

I've got say it's interesting that Moby seems to have become a "babe" in the
eyes of the media. Usually fans can find something attractive about an
artist they like but once mainstream gets on board it's a whole nother ball
game.

Mademoiselle? VH1? How precious!

All he is ever referred to here in NZ is "that skinny white bald dude".
Never EVER have I heard seen or read a form of NZ media class him as "cute"
"babelicious" or "sexy/spunky/hot".

I think we prefer our men big, buff and manly (Gavin Rossdale, That dude
with the squarer than square jaw from 3rd Eye Blind) OR the other extreme -
skinny, sickly looking and almost effeminate (Michael Stipe, Brian Molko
from Placebo, Jon Toogood from Shihad).

Me? I think that as an abstract specimen of the male form Moby is pretty
averagely attractive (though when you meet him his eyes are quite stunning)
and honestly if he wasn't Moby and just a bus driver - I probably wouldn't
look twice (Well I would - I have a thing for no hair and wiry lean
men;}....) but it's the fact that he creates such amazingly beautiful,
passionate music, that he oozes creativity that makes him so attractive. We
don't just see him, we see his music, his passion in him and we just can't
seperate the two anymore.

And that's not a bad thing - for us or him!

Um, I guess there are those who imagine moby as a "sexy-love warrior" etc
etc, just because he is famous and the music makes em' come over all "funny"
whenever they listen to it!! hee hee.  Though, Im sure Moby wouldnt mind
being seen as one, I saw his interview on New Zealands "Ice-as" in which he
says he has such a low self-worth  that it borders on pathalogical!!!  He
thought that even if he sold "A trillion Records" he would still have these
insecurities about him self!. Okay, I too, actually have this "thing" for
guys with shaved/no hair, have done for years, Dont know, and cant say what
it is about them, but they always catch my eye!, so I actually find Moby
very cute to look at,  and, being able to be front row at his concert
recently, I would have to agree with Sarah, that he has lovely, intense
eyes. Im sure your all going "Yeh, whatever, you love-crazed teenybopper!
(going on 24 if you must know)  Im not trying to confess my undying love,
yadda yadda yadda, for him, Im just trying to make people see how I think
he's a really sexually attractive guy, in those that dont see it.  Maybe its
the fact that alot (not all) of the world is in love with "the beautiful
people" the gorgeous Brad Pitts and those musicians that "OOOZE" sex appeal,
and I have dated guys who are very good looking, but WHOAH!, dont they know
it!.  Not saying all gorgeous guys are arseholes, but its all very
intimidating dating one.  Sure, I think im an attractive girl, but hell,
thats about confidence, not shoving it in someones face, and total
self-obsession!!.  I dont know Moby at all, but His music is beautiful and
makes me feel better, and I happen to think his talent,intelligence and
looks are a pretty damn good package.  We all like different things, have
different tastes and there are many other musicians I admire and think are
fantastic,attractive, etc etc, I just admire him the most because he seems
so "real" and a little different from other muso's.  Anywho, finally after
that blah session, just a quick piece on his interview in NZ, In fact the
interview was pretty funny,  they started off talking about the Knob-touch
game in which there was this prosthetic penis sitting between him and the
presenter, then the presenter stuck it down his pants and casually tried to
walk past and subltey  "touch" moby!,  MMM a reeeally niiice thing to have
stuck in your ear!!!.
