Subject: Re: (mobility) Interview Magazine (among other things)
So I am a bit late, sue me...anyway...last week I finally read the interview
with the man in Interview Magazine...I remember reading mixed reviews from
those of your who read it...I pretty much did not like the interview, it did
not leave me with a warm fuzzy feeling that many of his interviews leave me
with. I wish I had a copy so I could explain more, but it just seemed very
canned to me...although I did pick up some interesting tidbits about moby,
and it was nice to see him on/in a magazine (there are so many these days
with him, its hard to keep up).
53 days...MOBY at Red Rocks (like a dream come true). Anyway...for those who
don't have it...get the MOVE EP...I recently re-discovered it...I felt the
urge to throw it on the other day...man is it great...It starts out somewhat
smooth...gets harder...and ends with one of my fave songs The Rain Falls and
the Sky Shudders...I saw it at Virgin Mega Store (not seen it there before)
so it must be back out there with Moby's popularity...
As for new message list thingy...I can barely keep up with this one, but
even though I am pro-change...I think I'd like to stay here for a
while...been here a while and it feels like home..."mobility 4 life"
hehe...well then.
We are all here for the music...lets keep it that way.
So someone said "Put on AMBIENT and CHILL OUT"...for all you KLF fans I
say "Put on CHILL OUT and get AMBIENT!" Rockmanrock and Kingboy D kicked
ass.
BONUS QUOTE:"We need to vote more. Instead of complaining that we don't get
what we deserve, we can actually take what's ours by standing up and being
counted. That shit is really important, and we gotta realize that voting,
not bitchin', is the only real way to make changes" - Warren G (rapper) as
quoted in Rap Pages June 2000.

Why do I feel like every new thing I learn about Moby is on this mailing
list??? I am struggling to find ANYTHING about him and I am out there
actively participating.. PLEASE don't tell me its that "good things come to
those who eat biscuits and chase squirrel monkeys up and down trees for
millisecond upon nanosecond.." I don't have the patience... blah blah...
I know I am only new here.. but can I say that if I had been here for ages a
new mailing list might be great, but I am still new and getting used to this
one... I think I jumped on the band wagon a little too late and my arse is
dragging in the dirt...
ANYWAY.. thanks again guys for being my lifeblood in a society that can't
move past INXS, Cold Chisel... etc.etc... har har
Adios,
Jess :o)

Moby said somewhere before that he will not be working
with Madonna, he turned her down for a remix or
something.... but he said they might collaborate later
or something. i dont know, who cares.
anyway, didnt Moby say he's going to quit remixing or
something? or he's focusing on his own recordings so
he doesn't like remixing anymore? and what about the
Beasties remix? he traded a mix with them, so where's
his mix of them?

I'm frightfully afraid of contributing to this
thread, for my own sake, as it makes me feel like
a giant teeny-bopper.... but I can see what you
mean. Except Moby, would be the one setting all
the other pokemon free, and instead of shouting
his name, he'd just shout "Go!" or "Love" every
four measures.

I was able to find them (a LOT of luck involved!) both last year, I got one
from some German record store (the remix one, still new!) and one from
eBay relatively cheap (nobody saw it was the German release :)
I also had given up ever to find them, but I ended up owning both, so you
never know...
>collecting is so fun. Collecting moby is great too.
Yep, I now have 159 Moby CDs and Vinyls (with the 2 still on the way 161),
65 remixes by Moby and 9 covers of exclusive Moby songs on compilations.
I should contact Guinness! :)

I'll give it a try...
>1.) what's your favorite song that you have ever made?

I think he don't really has an "all time favorite" All his songs are
an expression of how he felt the moment he made them, I can
φmmagine it's hard to pick one as your favourite...
here are some of my personal favourites: (in random order)
- - All That I Need Is To Be Loved (Melodic Mix)
- - First Cool Hive
- - Now I Let It Go
- - Flying Over The Dateline
- - Sunday
- - Go (Arpathoski Mix)
- - Hymn (European Mix)
- - Micronesia
>2.) Do you mostly listen to your own stuff, or do you
>have a favorite other artist?
What I've read/heard from interviews, Moby hardly ever listens to
his own stuff except for The End Of Everything. I think Moby's
favorite band is Roxy Music, but he also listens a lot to local
NYC radio stations.
>3.) Do you have a copy of every thing that's ever been

>get me a copy of those german hymn singles and

I think he doesn't even know about those rare German releases,
most big artists have no clue about what's released worldwide, let
alone owning all of it...

hi everyone. Ok Jake just mentioned something about Moby at the Red Rocks.
I have a few questions for anyone and everyone who knows. You can just
email me back personally.
1)Is it still the 9th of September?
2)Tickets are how much? are there still any available?
3)The other act playing is Rabbit in the Moon, yes?
4)Anyone here going?
5)Got an extra ticket for a poor little girl who would love to see Moby
again? :P
6)Native Denver people: Do you know of a cheap place to stay close by to the
Red Rocks?
- -Tina
P.S. YAY! so many July babies! Happy birthday to all of us. Mine is this
Sunday the 23rd. I'll be twenty. Of course I'll be playing tons of Moby
like I did the year before. In fact, a bunch of ppl went out and bought I
like to score and everything is wrong after hearing him at my party. :)

Actually, the songs and order are all the same,
but this pre-release promo has a *19th track*,
which consists of about 8 seconds of digital silence.

OK!!!
I just went out in the city and they were having a MOBY sale at HMV... 3
Moby cd's for like Australian $28.. I already have "Everything is Wrong"..
but bought it anyway for Animal Rights (which is SO MUCH DIFFERENT than I
thought it would be...) and I Like to Score.. (which I am LOVING!)..
listening to them right now.. going to sell my other Moby cd.. I mean as
much as "Everything is Wrong" is a great cd.. I just don't need 2 of
them.... har har
I also got a new outfit to wear especially to Moby... so.. having a great
"pre-Moby" day out.. I am feeling DANDY.. and after whinging that we never
hear ANYTHING about Moby ever over here.. I have to eat my words...
I had a whole article on him with some great facts which I will share
later.. even though most of you will already know...
I also read the essay he wrote in "Animal Rights"... it talks about
Christianity.. and even though I am not religious.. I like what he says...
10 points again Moby...
Ok Kids... Catch you all soon I guess!
Who from Australia is going to Festival Hall this Saturday???

It was exactly as I thought it would be. I picked up a copy of "Spin" too,

interesting, quite different to some other "light-hearted" interviews I
have read about the man, a little more in-depth.
