okay, i'd like to note for all the newbies and also the older listies
who've forgotten:
if you're replying just to a specific individual on the list, please email
just them, not the whole list.
and if you're replying to a previous string of messages, please delete
stuff that doesn't apply, like the 5 copies of how to be removed from the
list, excess headers, etc.

Lasttime I heard, he was romantically involved with Natalie Portman. I'd

For those of you on AOL, they have a special on Moby on the welcome page.
It's all about the use of his music in ads. It's not that great but it was a
pleasant surprise to see his face when I signed on. Take care all.-Kelly

Perhaps we should consider creating a second moby list. One for the
discussion of his music and writings, and another for teenyboppers to
discuss their imaginary romantic encounters with moby. Hmmmm perhaps a
third list for people who want to discuss the weather in Europe.
Boy... I miss the old days.

Hiya !
I don't think its too useful to have all these email messages saying =
`I'm
Moby's girlfriend` etc. Its just a waste of server space on many mail
servers and a waste of time to download. Some of us aren't on the =
fastest
connections here, some of us are. Its great that your having fun but is =
it
really necessary for everyone on the forum to see ?
This is one of my idea's why a Ultimate Bulletin Board or Forum is a lot
better than a mailing list in this sense because your able to download =
and
read what you want, instead of being plagued with email that isn't
interesting.
There is a lot of useful and interesting things discussed on Mobility =
and
there are some things lately that haven't been too interesting. =
Everyone's
tastes are different but the 1 line, 7 word e-mail's are a little =
annoying.
In this sense I thought for less priories subjects and discussions we =
could
use a bulletin board / forum. That is why I created the one for =
everyone
using UBB (I paid $199US for it). Check it out at =

Subject: (mobility) Why?
Seriously. Now people can see why SOME old Moby fans say that they don't
want Moby to gfet popular - become mainstream. Because this is what
happens. We get 30 emails about which one of them is going out with
Moby. Do we need to seperate this list into age groups or something. 16
and under Mobility? This is rediculous. This is why so many of the old
members signed off this list. I seriously don't know why I am still
here. I love Moby's music to death, and just the chance I might find out
Moby is coming to Boston or something, that is why I hang around. I
don't care about all these imaginary love stories, Sifl and Olly, how
close everyone lives to everyone else... Maybe we can get Damian to
change the format of the list so that the reply to address is just the
sender and you have to hit reply all to send it to the list. Sometimes
we forget and end up sending the mail twice, but it is better than all
this shit. And why does everyone hate AOL????? Orbital does the list the
same way (it is xmission). I am leaving for 2 weeks for Jaapn tomorrow
morning. I just didn't want to come back with hundreds of the type of
email I got today... Thanks. Later.

Maybe there should be a separate, elite, interesting-people-only Moby list.
A few initial members comb through the archives of this list, and pick
people to take part in the new list. Eventually, they could break off
totally into their own Moby Universe, establishing a perfect online society.
I am perfectly happy with the existing list, but I just thought I should
throw the idea out.
And you should all give Nelly Furtado a listen. Kinda a
world-triphop-folky-pop-kinda female singer/songwiter, and way cool. sample
a few tracks at http://www.whoanelly.com . She also has a cool song
("Party's Just Begun") on the Brokedown Palace soundtrack.

When you're done being rude; let us know. If you don't like the subject
matter, don't read it. The subject was pretty clear. Everyone here is
guilty of one liners, off topic and silly messages. Lighten up. I am way
beyond my "teenybopper" years and don't appreciate your manor. Is being rude
part of the "been a Moby fan since the beginning" profile? I've been a fan
since 1996 and guess what? I think Moby is attractive. That is not what I
base my respect for him on, but yes, I do have a sense of humor and I was
joking around with the girls. For those of you that I offended that didn't
reply with insults, I apologize. For the rest of you, please point your

Well may I say I wasn't here in the old days, I became a Moby fan and
collector when "Play" was first released last year and it knocked me on my
ass. BUT I have spent the last year buying any and every Moby music item I
can get my hands on. I am here as long as Moby makes music.
But may I say this is sickening? One line e-mails of teeny girls all saying
"No I'M Moby's girlfriend". UGH! I can imagine how the old timers must
feel.
Moby, PLEASE pull a Prince and record something so obscure and out there
with your next release that it trims off all the band wagoners jumping to
"Play" and we can get back to talking about music, not romantic fantasies
of Moby. Is this an N Sync list all of a sudden? I'll never forget when
Prince released "Around The World In A Day" a PURPOSEFUL esoteric record to
test all the teeny band wagon jumpers who jumped on the "Purple Rain"
train. One listen to ATWIAD and off they went to the next "hot thing" and
Prince was back to making KICK ASS innovative, ground breaking music. I
hope Moby does the same.
I'm sure I'll get flamed for this e-mail. So sue me.
And for the last time, I AM MOBY's GIRLFRIEND. :)

I would just like to take a second and elaborate on an earlier post.
When I said I missed the old days, it wasn't an insult to the new people.
I wish some of you could have been here back in the days of Ryu. There
were so many intelligent, thought provoking conversations. The general
attitude of the list has changed and I don't blame all of the new people.
Just the ones that insist on behaving like recovering N-Sync fans.

see, you DO understand!
anyway, what's this new commercial that has moby music in it? I remember seeing
something about it here, but I didn't see anyone say what the commercial was

I just saw Heat the other night on DVD and was floored when two Moby songs
showed up. At the finale, too!! That was so cool.
