I like Animal Rights, it's how I got into Moby, and it's still more the
style of music I prefer, the mellow Little Idiot tracks are cool, but I
prefer just hearing the rage of the UK version of the record, hey, I
love it, best Moby album in my opinion, anybody who thinks it's shit
probably wouldn't listen to that kind of music anyway, hence their
viewpoint is impaired.

Subject: (mobility) Recent Purchases
Hello all!
Time for more of DJ Pagan's recent purchases.
YOU, over there, quit groaning! Respect my
authority! :)
Ok...
Orbital - Beached
* Great single, a la the Trainspotting song on
Trainspotting 2 (PF Project: Choose Life). Not
very original, but the melodies in the background
are nice, even if it IS Leo doing the vocals. :)
Doctor Lookout is a nice B-side to boot.
Moby - Natural Blues US, UK1, and UK2
* Contrary to popular opinion, I like the Mike D
remix of the song, only because I'm sort of
getting sick of all the pop trance remixes that
are coming out as remixes. Don't get me wrong,
the Oakie remix is tight, but all the remixes are
starting to sound the same. (That's not trance at
all! :> )
Dimitri from Paris - A Night at the Playboy
Mansion
* GO BUY THIS!!! I'm a huge fan of disco and 70s
funk, and this is a MUST HAVE! It's disco house
at it's best with Dim behind the decks rippin' it
ta shreds. It's seriously rivaling for best
album this year (IMHO), and I wouldn't doubt if
this gets much praise at the end of the year.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Primal Scream - XTRMNTR
* Angry. I really can't get into this too much
because it sounds like people whining about
things that don't really matter to most of us.
That doesn't make it any less important, but
enough of the angry rawk. The Chemical Brothers
remix of Swaztika Eyes is pretty cool along with
the original though. And Pills, the
instrumental, it pretty good too.
Banco de Gaia - The Magical Sounds of Banco de
Gaia
* Another great production for the original world
beat sound. BdG is outranking Deep Forest and
B-Tribe in my favorites for world beat out there.
The textures, the layering, there isn't anything
bad about this disc so far, but then again, I've
had it for a week.
The Wiseguys - The Antidote
* Dope. Straight dope. This is some great big
beat/hip-hop stuff that takes you on a journey
through, strangely enough, a plane ride with only
30 records. :) Recommended.
Supreme Beings of Leisure
* It's no Portishead, but it's pretty good. A
lot of old grooves and loops come out of the box
for this one, pulling from old lounge music,
south Asian sitar, and good ol' funk. The vocals
are nice as well.
Smith & Mighty - Big World Small World
* Smooth. Yeah, it's all R&B/hip-hop stuff, but
it's nice. There isn't a whole lot of S&M beats
going on, it's mostly vocals. However, they are
pretty good in their own right. Favorites off
this album are Year 2000 and That Woman.
*******Retro Album of the Week***********
EBN - Electronic Behavior Control System
* This album is great! It was originally
designed as a video/audio piece which was years
ahead of it's time. It takes elements from
politics and some ludite thoughts and mixes in
samples from movies and music videos to make some
interesting loops. And of course, who could
forget We Will Rock You, GB style?
Coming Soon...
Smith & Mighty - Same
Fatboy Slim/Paul Oakenfold - Essential Selection
Vol. 1
Rinocerose - Installation Sonore
LTJ Bukem - Journey Inwards

They are bootlegs! these have been popping up like mushrooms on eBay
for the last couple of months, unfortunately I see at the links above,
suddenly
people actually start bidding on it.... That's something new. And if they
had
any good rare tracks I wouldn't really mind that much (like with that
"Remixes
& Unreleased" bootleg CD) but come on! all these new bootlegs only have
very common stuff with often a load of Play tracks.
So if you see any Moby titles like "Millenium Hits", "Best Of" etc. quickly
run
away and warn the local authorities :)

Considering any real "best of" albums would probably have new artwork on it,
then these probably are boots. The second one especially looks crap.

Subject: (mobility) Moby is En Esch ;)
first off, best Stereolab lyric ever:
"I saw two lights it must have been God
It wasn't god, 'twas a car"
but im not going to tell you which song (its a very
rare one tho)
anyway, i was listening to En Esch's solo album (he of
KMFDM, RIP) and wow, some of his singing almost sounds
like Moby! just a _little_ but still. plus hes got no
hair on his head. that settles it, En Esch is Moby! ;)
actually, his solo album "Cheesy" from 93 is really
good. its probly out of print but it is HILARIOUS so
you must find it if yr a KMFDM freak. wanna know why?
well, witness the chorus of one song: "to rock the
mob, is rule the fuck. to rule the mob, is rock the
fuck." and one song samples C&C Music Factory (i
swear, maybe not but it sounds like it) and features
some crazy dumb vocal effects. and another song is in
SPANISH! a german industrial guy singing in
spanish?!?! no way! awesome! and another song features
a guitar solo from Dean Ween (or maybe Gene i fergot)
and has En playing harmonica! it sounds kinda like
Ween too.
if you dont understand whats so great about KMFDM then
whatever this isnt for you. but if youve ever giggled
along to "KMFDM Sucks!" then you already know how much
you need this. and if so if you can find it GET IT!
also, on Davos show last nite, i heard this song that
had the "ooh lordy" chorus from NB but it wasnt that.
i was thinkign it mighta been the Mike D mix i still
havent heard but it didnt sound like mike d. and it
was after 1 am so i naturally fell asleep like right
after that. thats what sux about davo, his show is the
coolest ever but its always on at the worst times. i
mean i love the late night wpkn shows but i always
ALWAYS fall asleep!
well duh.. anyway bye.

I saw the trailer for the movie, Impostor and in the beginning I coulda

the "eh" vocal was there, but the strings were a bit different, and the
piano was played different.
and of course it was being drowned out by the narrator guy, so I'm not
sure what i really heard. But im guessing it was one of the new remixes.

Actually that's The Late Show with Craig Kilborne that you're thinking of.
Moby was on Later on NBC at 1:35am last night. I caught it, taped it,
watched it. It was pretty good. Moby defined his sexuality in one word
("ambiguous"), told about losing his virginity and talked of fame and his
childhood. I just thought it was so cute how casually dressed he was
during this interview. The little hole in his sweatshirt was absolutley
endearing. *grin* And then he performed 'Porcelain' and 'Bodyrock'.
I should have screen shots up from this appearance once i finish my Moby
page... soon.
