I have had a thought. Last time Moby was on Letterman, he played Natural Blues,
which was then his next single. So now he's performing Porcelain (to my much
joy).. By that reasoning, is it his next single? Mr. V2 Scott, could you please
hint if this is a reasonable deduction? Pretty peas, with sugar on top?

I'd be willing to be good money that Moby is doing Porcelain because it was
played during "The Beach" both the movie and the previews, and is on the
soundtrack. My friends all know that song, even though they know absolutely
nothing else by The Man. I've put on Play a couple times at some of our
parties, and when Porcelain comes on they are all like "ooo, yeah I like this
song." Which for some reason (I have no clue why) really irritates me. I
liked him first! ;)

I just got back from the Letterman show where I saw Mr. Moby perform live.
So if you want to be surprised when the show airs, read no further (although
I can't possibly imagine what I would be spoiling). He did indeed do
Porcelain, and wore a coat the whole time--presumably to combat the
forty-eight degree Farhrenheit climate of the Ed Sullivan theater. Sadly,
Mr. Letterman did not talk to Moby after the performance, but he did deliver
a nice little plug for Play. After the show I hung around and finally got to
meet the man. We had a very nice exchange about NYU and Trapper keeper
folders. He signed the back of my Papua New Guinea homework. Lovely man.

well I just saw Moby's performance on the late show. Whoever said they got to
see him perform and then met him afterwards (I'm sorry I can't remember
exactly who) - I am dreadfully jealous of you. Someone on another mailing
list I was on tried to convince me that Moby is a very poor live preformer,
and unfortuantely I have never been able to test this out myself, but I
thought he did a terrific job on the Late Show. And all the other musicians
were very good too. I liked the string players, they were totally into the
song, and the girl bass player (I think) behind him was so cute, like a punky
Meg Ryan. Overall, I thought it was worth staying up late and getting no
sleep for school. Aww, he's so cute. (Ok sorry, I know this should not be a
based on looks post, and it isn't. I think talent adds a lot to my impression
of a preformer....but that's an entirely different subject all together.) I'm
sorry I'm so scatter-brained, but I am rather tired right now. Music is the
only thing I know of that entirely consumes me. And I am drained :)

When I met Moby there was such a crowd of people around him and he was
signing so many autographs that there wasn't an opportunity for an in-depth
conversation. I asked if I could try on his glasses (those big, black,
square-framed ones) which he had no problem with. I told him how much I
enjoyed the show and chatted very little about some other live performances
I've caught (Woodstock, WHFestival in D.C., Nation last September). I then
introduced him to my boyfriend and that's it. I said "Happy Thankgiving,"
told him to have a good night and then he extended his arms and gave me a
hug. Such a nice little man.
Peace, Shera
