Actually... if you had gone to my website within a few days of that letter going
out, you would have noticed that my gift was mp3s of the HBO reverb show.
However, Xoom.com shut me down! Sorry for those who didn't get there in time.
Better luck next time!

I was watching MTV last night (cuz it was a crappy South Park episode on) and
they were showing the finalist for the aids awareness short films. The last
finalist that they showed was a video showing pictures on a beach or
something with Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad in the background, it was very
cool.
RS had Play in the albums of 99 and compared him to Tom Waites... Odd... But
sadly they didn't have a pic of him in the faces of 99... oh well.
And as a continuation of the online import music stores, music express has
officially taken underwater off its catalog... Guess that would be a bad
sign, wouldn't it?

I dunno, I thought that he did a wonderful job. I think that when I first
heard that song, it really clicked in my head that *that* was MOBY's voice
and not someone else. I thought he sounded sorta sexy and the song was
really moody which fits perfectly into my taste in music. I thought it was
wonderful.

Probably because most of the people on this list
have only purchased Play, and haven't experienced
the rest of it. To be honest, I would rate
Bodyrock as the worst Moby song. However,
instead of saying that it's annoying or that "it
sucks", I don't like the poppy/rock kind of feel
to it. It's not bad, but it's the worst right now.

ok i definately agree that bodyrock is by far the worst moby song ever
created.....it is so much like fatboy slim and just terrible.. and god they
play it on the radio!..as far as the james bond theme, yeah its a movie
score but it is pretty damn rad as far as movie soundtracks go.......and i
gotta disagree with everytime you touch me...i think that song (and
everything on "everything is wrong") is BRILLIANT! i think it is very
emotional and so dance inducing........very high quality.....i have another
least favorite, "thats when i reach for my revolver".....not that this song
is bad, but it in no way lives up to moby's quality.....and its really kinda
cheesy.......but here's a question: is this a cover, b/c i swear i've heard
this before moby's version! thanks

I was never really into Mortal, but they were pretty cool as far as
industrial rock goes. Fold Zan is very cool, though. Pop music meets big
guitars meets drum & bass and techno.....
(BTW, this isn't the person you were replying to....just thought I'd add my

i feel ya...bodyrock gets me moving...always did..sure, it's poppy and
all...now a song that is in my damm head is some song by this group called
Eiffel 65 or something...called "Blue" i heard it while in a taxi cab in
germany back in august...now it's playing here..it's very pop but
catchy...but now i'm sick of it..i would rather make love to my per turtles
than listen to that song again

yes...it's by Mission of Burma...released on "Signals, Calls, and Marches"
as far as the Bodyrock controversy..I'm going to have side with the
pro-bodyrock people...come one, people, what a fun song! I mean...on Play
alone there's plenty of tracks that aren't nearly as good...
I mean, the most common reason I've heard for not liking Bodyrock is "they
play it on the radio"..SO?!?!? that doesn't change the song...not listening
to something just because it's on the radio is EXACTLY as mindless as only
listening to what comes on the radio...just my little opinion..

I'm with you on this one.. My only problem with BodyRock is that it doesn't
fit the mood of the rest of Play, but who am I to judge.. Would have been
better on one of his more hyper albums, but even there it doesn't fit. I
also think that it's the reason for Play coming into the spotlight because it
is so commercially friendly... I still vote for Honey because of the
annoying vocals as the sole reason.. Take those out and its a cool song.. I
don't understand why he made that his first single...
How can anyone dis the JAmes Bond theme? I so love love love that song...
Get's me hyper... Granted the movie it was for was by far the worse Bond
flick... But that doesn't lessen it now does it?

BSIDES!!!!
1. Best Moby B-side (not including remixes)
2. Best B-side EVER (no boundaries)
MY OPINION:
1. well see i dont buy Moby singles really. singles
cost too much and theres too many of em and im broke
an shit. but i have the black Revovler single, and i
love it. extremely wonderful. "Lovesick" is this 45
second speedthrashmetaROCK thing, i love it to death.
i kinda wish it was longer tho... nevermind, i can
just listen to it again and again and again etc. and
then theres "Displaced" a lovely 45 second acoustic
guitar piece. lovely lovely. then "Sway" is a lovely
downtempo hip hop track. a bit repetitive but kick ass
nonethelesss. hell, i like these three better than the
A side! which is of course on Animal rights, the best
album ever released, so these three songs are better
than everything else ever released!!!!!! ;)
2. best b-side EVER: easy. "Nightgown Of The Sullen
Moon" from TMBG's "They'll Need A Crane" 12". the
a-side of which is one of the best singles ever
released. the other 2 b-side trax are rock as well.
best ideal bside: anything by sifl n olly ;)
notice i emphasize BEST in this email. i'm all about
positivity dammit!
great, and now im going! bye!

1 ~ Flying Foxes... Why this didn't make it on play is beyond me.... But
again, I don't buy singles either so any other mysterious and beautiful songs
I wouldn't know about. My scope is very limited.
2 ~ Beck MTV Makes Me Want to Smoke Crack... B-side to the UK Loser single.
The funniest funniest song ever... Starts Nirvana-esque then switches to
Lounge Lizard and it works...
I think I'm partial to waify musiciains. Beck, Moby, and I'm now loving the

a wicked bunch of folk - and of course the drummer was born in Godzone (NZ).
Saw the concert in Wellington on 26 November and it was the best concert

Well, I understand you're view on this but we *have* discussed our
favorites and it's only natural to discuss the works that we think were
sub par, ya know?
I dunno. I don't totally dig all moby songs but I have to say even the
ones I don't really dig are more thoughtfull than a lot of bullshit
music that comes out these days and who knows, when my tastes mature
again, maybe those songs I don't like much will be my favorites. :-P
But yeah, my favorite moby stuff is deffinately Everything is wrong, End
of Everything, I like to Score, and so on. Play is a great album too.
Early Underground doesn't really do anything for me but that's just me
now. Who knows.
OK, I think I made sense but I can't really be sure. :-)
