  117. Just got back from the concert.  I want to say that I have read everyone's
  118. descriptions of the shows they went to and how awsome his performances are.
  119. The thing is I just had no idea how great it was going to be until I
  120. actually saw it.  In fact the whole day was filled with Moby.
  121.  
  122. I got up at eight and listened to the interview they did with him.  It was
  123. interesting and I learned some new stuff.
  124.  
  125. I then went to Let It Be, a record store in downtown Minneapolis, where Moby
  126. was going to sign autographs at 8 p.m.  I was there by 7 and ended up being
  127. about the fifth person in line. He walked into the place very quietly and
  128. went straight to the back of the store where we were waiting for him.  He
  129. was wearing big thick rimmed glasses that looked kind of goofy on him but
  130. yet seemed to fit him so well.  They were much like the glasses he wears in
  131. the Honey video.  I got to talk to him for a minute or two while he signed
  132. the things I brought.
  133.  
  134. I'm going to spare you the general details of the concert because they are
  135. about the same as everyone else's descriptions.  I don't remember the set
  136. list, either other than "My Weakness" in the beginning which worked very
  137. well with the banners and the lighting and set the overall mood for him to
  138. come on stage.  Very, very touching intro.  That song is now one of my
  139. favorites.  When the show started I was at the very front by the stage and
  140. he must have recognized me from the autograph session because he smiled and
  141. waved.  Later on he also noticed me still there sweating my ass off and
  142. walked over with the bottle of water he was drinking and poured it all on my
  143. head.  That felt awsome.  The club was so friggin' hot.  He also did a cover
  144. of Prince's "Purple Rain" and another cover which I can't name off hand,
  145. although it sounded familiar.
  146.  
  147. This has been a night I will never forget.  Boom Boom was great.  Moby was
  148. unbelieveable.  I met him.  I got autographs.  I got waved to.  I got water
  149. poured on my head........?  And now I'm acting like one of those emphatic
  150. Backstreet Boys fans.  I think I need some rest.

  204. This is great news! I suggested this song for EXACTLY that SNL skit to my 
  205. sisters when I played it for them back in March or something. It's so goofy. 
  206. I'm glad they're making a video and talking to Mike Myers. I wonder if they 
  207. got permission to use John Wayne & Tina Turner's names, as well as Darth 
  208. Vader, which is a Lucasfilm property. (a goofy German? accented guy speaks 
  209. these names between 'marshmallow' repetitions...) I wouln't be surprised if 
  210. he had to change the goofy names in it because of this. Though that would be 
  211. a shame.

  475. Great question.... the dallas show was my first moby show and i was very curious
  476. about the same thing.  We were front row so i figured we would have bruises on
  477. us the next day... but no....  It was the happiest, most polite crowd i have
  478. ever seen.  Everybody was dancing or jumping, but always careful to maintain
  479. their space.  One drunk guy got a little pushy.. but the people around us shoved
  480. him to the back pretty quick.

  482. This may have just been the people around us... but i looked around several
  483. times and didn't see any pushing or shoving.  A really great crowd!

  554. Well, I voted.  Once for me and once for my bf.  :-)  We don't even have MTV
  555. but I figured "what they hey?".  I would kinda hate to see MOBY become
  556. 'trendy' but whatever.  :-)  I just don't want to see his music purchased by
  557. ppl who will only listen to it a handful of times and then sell it off to
  558. some cd shop and buy the newest N'Sync cd but I guess that's selfish. :-P

  574. I think it depends on where you're at.  At most shows there is pushing and shoving.
  575. A lot of ppl just loose it.  At the first show I went to, everyone was dancing and
  576. having a good time.  I don't think anyone really even noticed who was on stage.  It
  577. was festive and fun.  The second show was different.  The crowd didn't seem to know
  578. that there would be a dj.  I think most of the ppl at the show had only heard
  579. 'play'.  I say, always use caution.  It's also good to have someone with you if
  580. you're in front or it's good to make friends with ppl who look formidable. :-)
