  157. them both at the same time upon the completion of the Thanks 2 project. As 
  158. for video, I have the Rockvideo Monthly Winter '95, Techno edition which is 
  159. easily obtainable of eBay for a low price. It has EIW era interview footage, 
  160. EYTM, Hymn (TIMD), and Feeling So Real videos. If you want videos, that's a 
  161. good place to start. If you're in the UK, Action Records (look them up on 
  162. yahoo's search) has PAL promo videos of Honey, JBT, & Come On Baby. -S

  288. Run On.  That was the same episode where they had Ben Folds Five on there

  500. doesn't like his "singing voice"? i like all the songs
  501. he sings/speaks on play(except machete). and i REALLY
  502. like atinitbl...but most the "rock/metal" on AR is
  503. unlistenable to me becasue of his singing/screaming...

  605. today!  In this message, I give my initial impressions of the first
  606. of two "Bodyrock" UK CD singles:  Mute CDMute225.

  608. It's a real eye-catcher.  In the same layout style as "Honey" and
  609. "Run On", instead of a pumpkin face or mousetrap, there is a skull
  610. (fake, I think) against a fleshy pink background.  Inside is a
  611. repeated picture of Moby (in color this time) against a yummy rose/
  612. violet-colored background.

  622. cruising music.  Dean tweaks it up a bit, and the end result sounds
  623. perfectly fit for pop consumption.  I think I like Moby's album
  624. version better.  Somehow this just doesn't do much for me.  I prefer
  625. Moby's more technoey & emotional songs.  Nevertheless, I think that
  626. this song was an excellent choice to be a single.  Hopefully it will
  627. get widespread recognition as a fun Summertime party track, and cause
  628. more people to buy _Play_ and discover what they've been missing out
  629. on all these years. :)

  631. "Sunspot" is an interesting track.  Nothing Moby has released in the
  632. past comes to mind for me to compare it to.  Whatever it is, it's
  633. cool and I like it.  It's a slow-medium tempo song with a funky drum
  634. beat playing over an Ambient-esque synth loop.  Funky piano playing
  635. drops in every so often.  A very interesting and pleasant track.

  637. "Arp" is fast and neat.  I may be wrong (I just got this CD within
  638. the last hour and my memory may not be gospel), but it strikes me as
  639. sounding like "Sunday"-meets-"Degenerate".  Spiffy clean Moby techno.
  640. The track progresses and gets really cool (IMHO) about three minutes
  641. into it.  I just like the feeling evoked by the chords shimmering
  642. over the fast beat.  Then, at 3:48, the song stops.  But it's not
  643. truly finished.  A kind of weird (in a neat foreboding way) string
  644. thing starts.  It sounds like (and probably is) a backwards playing
  645. of the intro from "Every One Of My Problems".  It launches into what
  646. sounds almost exactly like "Every One Of My Problems" (a Good Thing),
  647. ends, and starts back up at 6:10 with the strange string intro, which
  648. is abruptly cut off just 20 seconds later.  This is definitely a
  649. schizophrenic track.  It's like 2.1 songs.  But I really like it.
  650. If _Play_ (which I love) had been made of music like this, I would
  651. probably love it twice as much.

  653. This single is worth buying -- especially for the B-sides.

  669. For all you DJs out there, here is something I just thought of.  If you
  670. ever wanted to put videogame music or sounds in your stuff, you can do
  671. this.  Take the the Audio output RCA jack from your gaming console and
  672. put it into a "1/4 to RCA" adaptor and then plug it into your sampler. 
  673. Find the desired sound or music and record it onto a memory bank.  I
  674. thought this would be cool to put it into your mixes and stuff like that.
