Thanks for the scoop, Paul! I was curious about that.

I bought this a few days ago but it's called NEW MUSIC. The fact that it's
CMJ is not obvious when you're browsing the newstand. Anyhow, it's got a
blue cover with orange letters, Chemical Brothers being the cover feature as
Paul mentioned. The Cibo Matto song does indeed namecheck Moby, and then
rhymes it with Obi-Wan Kenobi. I couldn't decipher exactly what they said
about Moby, the words were mumbly with the music playing over them. Only the
'MOBY' was elucidated. The tune is called "Sci-Fi Wasabe" and (I think) it's
horrible. BTW, the Chembros song "Let Forever Be" is the one w/ the
Gallagher guy from Oasis singing. I really want to hear the Bernard Sumner
song, myself.

Is it just me, or does anyone else have an impossible time getting songs from
"Play" out of their head all day? (that is when they aren't listening to it!)
No matter what, I keep finding my self singing that cool backwards strings part
from Porcelain in my head! And that's not even my favorite song on the CD!
What songs from "Play" do you guys get stuck in your heads? I'd be interested
to hear!

yep! totally! i think it has something to do with the
fact that i have listened to it ATLEAST 100 times
already though! but for me it's porcelain, run on,
southside...i walk around with that little 2 note piano
thing from the sky is broken in my head constantly!
ding-ding. and the vocal loop from find my baby...gahh!
i wish taht one would stop!. i really love run on. i
know..i'm strange!
but when i listen to the cd it's still rushing and my
weakness that really do it for me.

alright! i have no idea why my messages are sending
twice. but heres my theory. i just joined another
list, and at sign up, it said if you wish to reply to
the list use reply all. if just the sender use reply.
so i started doing that on this list as well. it's the
only thing i've done differently since joining.
anybody got any ideas. i typed the list address in
myself for this post. no address book used. i'm really
confused!

There is an MTV online feature interview with Moby in case no one has seen
it. It's got some info in it that I, personally, have never seen before.
Some pics too. I think Play is deffinately going to be a big album for
Moby. Especially if MTV is covering him like they are.

well you could have asked me! but the truth is, i
don't know why it's happening. i've tried many
different things to make it stop as i have been
emailed off list telling me it's happening. i think it
has something to do with the fact that another list i
joined said to use reply all to go to the list and
reply to go to just the sender. i just used reply for
this one. so if everyone gets this could a couple of
you let me know. and if ANYONE gets it twicw please
let me know. i apologize for the extra mail! i SWEAR i
was'nt sending twice.

The sky is broken [there's the casio keyboard again...classic] and My
Weakness definitely are stuck on infinite loop in my brain. South side is
kinda loud too.

I love it too. Looking forward to a Voodoo Child remix of it!

The songs from PLAY that get stuck in my head are Honey, Why Does My Heart
Feel So Bad, Bodyrock, Run On, Porcelain, and Find My Baby. I love the CD so
much that I just went out and bought the Into the Blue single, one of MOBY's
most remarkable pieces of work.

The PLAY album debuted at #145. It sold close to 9, 000 copies, his best
sales totals to date. The album hit the top 30 in Europe. Honey is a top ten
single in the UK as well.

hey there all. well, i finally have heard Play (only about 8
times since yesterday) and all i have to say is "wow". it is completely
different from the other stuff he has put out. still i love it. hopefully
he does put out a dj mix album. my tastes in what songs i like and
dislike are a bit odd. i hope you don't kill me for saying this, but my
favorite track on the cd is Machete. ( ahh! i'm gonna get flamed now...)
i guess i just like dark techno/trance stuff like that a lot. i actually
wish it was longer... i do agree it doesn't fit in the album very well,
but i am pleased it is there. the two songs i don't like as much are
Honey and South Side. *now EVERYONE is going to kick my ass 8(* i don't
hate them, but they just don't do much for me. i guess my tastes are just
messed up. still, i love "why does my heart hurt so bad", "porcelain",
"rushing"and "natural blues". well, all in all, the album was just as
good as everyone hyped it to be, which is quite amazing. mr. hall
definitely deserves massive kudos for this one. take care all.
