Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone one the list knew what it would
take and how hard it would be to get Moby to spin at a rave.
I am looking for things like cost, how far in advance one
would have to contact his management, and likelyhood of
something like that ever happening. Also, has anyone heard
him spin? How good is he? What type of music does he spin?
Thanks in advance

Since part of his roots are from the old-school rave days, I can't imagine
him being short of god-like on the turntables.
Please post back to the list with what you find, as I'm very curious if he
is still willing to do this...

this year, moby played two or three DJ sets in the new york city area. he
did masquerave (halloween rave) which he has done three or four times in
the past. also, he spun a set during the play party during cmj.
he spun house sets for the most part--diva and trance. he avoided his own
trax, in general. it was unbelievable to hear his live DJ sets... so
much experience and talent--really gratifying. i preferred watching him
live during his own shows, but it really is hard to compare the two...
completely different experiences.
have fun. good luck.

So Moby IS DJ Cake? I thought I heard somewhere that DJ Cake was some
young protegΘ of Moby's, but part of me has always thought that they
were one and the same.
Are we certain they are the same person?
Also, I know I came in on this WAAAY late this time, but when are songs
due for Thanks 2?
peace,

The original airing of it was a while back, so this instance was a repeat.
I know that Moby has(suprisingly) apeared on Comedy Central's show, "Viva
Variety" though I never saw it. Those are the only two shows that I know he
has appeared.

Sorry for the non-moby, but I think this is important...
For the next six weeks, at movie theaters all over, the Variety Club is
selling gold hearts for two dollars. The Variety Club is an international
charity founded in 1927, when 11 showmen adopted an orphan left in a movie
theater in Pittsburgh. Today the Variety Club works to help children who
have lost one (or both) parents. Please, if you can, donate two dollars to
this cause!

tracks Anima and Alone, I haven't heard before and was
quite impressed.

No you're not. In the immortal words of H. Simpson, "If God is all knowing
and all powerful and all loving, why should he care where I spend my Sunday
Morning?" My point is that, from what I know of christianity, you won't be
condemned for something small and trivial as stealing a CD. Unless your

Hello Kristy,
And welcome. Haven't had time to welcome the other
newcomers, so welcome. I really like Talvin Singh too -
only heard a small chunk of stuff, but me like much.
Oh shit, that wasn't Moby! Word of warning - don't go too
off topic or get the wrath of the pure and holy
'techno-only' gods on your case! It should be interesting
if we stir their slumber and get a flame-war going, but
maybe we're all just sick of that now!? So peace and if you
do want to chat about things a little off topic, then your
more then welcome to do that privately - just let me know.
Shhh! Sweet dreams.
