Of course you do! Your FTP is a great site and I downloaded a lot of music
from it:) I'm looking forward to you putting your site up again on your new

Isn't exciting? Moby, coming out with a new album. I haven't been on mobility long enough to have experienced the rise of play, but I'm sure it was much like this. I'm so excited that we can all share in the anticipation of his new album. I noticed on the FTP, which by the way, thank you for running it bart... I noticed that there seems to be a promo CD, an Album at that. Someone got their hands on this? Bart? If so, do you know of any way I could get ahold of a copy? preferably an original, but burn would do. Also, does anyone have any lowdowns on how to go about meeting moby? At the two shows that I saw him in I wasn't able to meet him afterwards, major bummer... but thats the way it goes I guess... unless any of you have any ins. If you did, I'd really really really apreciate it if you filled me in. Thanks!<BR>
Hope everyone is having an good spring and is enjoying what they've heard of good ol' moby so far. Later - Peace<BR>

I never got that Blade soundtrack endorsement email.
I've been on Mobility for only a few months, but if these Blade soundtrack people got names and emails from the mobility name list, why didn't everyone get spammed? (not that I'm complaining, mind you....)

PS: do you think it's because i don't post much? (this is only the second time i've written in.)

Hey everyone, haven't posted in a long time, but I just got 18, and I was
wondering if anyone has the cover art to the CD? Also, if there are any
people that use mIRC in here, that's where I found my copy. It's in
#192+mp3albums. This guy Valek has it, transfers really fast too. I haven't
really gotten a chance to give it a very thorough listening to, but I like it
so far. Definately worth the buy when it comes out.

Alright, overall, the CD is okay. Many songs do seem to follow the Play
formula, so those people that came on during the Play days will probably seem
pretty happy. For those of us who have been here since God knows when, this
is definately not one of Moby's best efforts. I'm not really sure what I was
expecting his next album to sound like, but, atleast for now, this was not
it. I don't want to sound too negative though, and the CD really isn't bad.
With the exception of a couple of songs, this would be a good CD to put in
when you and a significant other are getting it on. In other words, 18 makes
for good background music. Now, before I go on any further, I must say that
I remember how most of us on the list didn't take too kindly to Play when it
was first released either, but after a couple of listens, opinions changed.
This may be the case with 18. Who knows.

I'm listening to 18 (The Album as we speak) And I think that the things that everyone was saying all have value. I personally like this. Lately I've been goin through some rough times, and this mellow, "soulful" and laidback sound is really calming and relaxing to me. I think favorites are 18, Signs of Love, and At least we tried, but it may change.<BR>
One thing about what everyone has been saying though... I think everyone needs to decide for themselves. I mean I might be being hypocritical in saying this, and if any of you are offended, I apologize and didn't mean to offend anyone. I think it goes without saying that no matter what any of you think about this album, everyone on the list is going to listen to it. But then again, I understand that it's fun to talk about the album, and it's really exciting with this upcoming album and tour and all. So I don't know what I'm trying to say... but I hope you all know what i mean. :-) Moby has an amazing talent... We should give the album a little time before we bash it..... I hope everyone enjoys something about the new album. Peace out everyone.<BR>

<DIV></DIV>>As I listen to 18, I really enjoy all of the songs. It
<DIV></DIV>>is a solid album, but I think A lot of us are
<DIV></DIV>>dissapointed not because it is bad music, but because
<DIV></DIV>>it isn't better than play. In my opinion, most of his

<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>Maybe moby after all these years of searching has

Yes RECORD TIME in Roseville ROCKS!!! I also love how they have the "test"
turntables attached to the speakers so you can watch people's reactions while
they are shopping for records. I have found brilliant imports that I would
have paid so much for on ebay there. It's better than gramophone in Chicago
because there's so much more of a variety there and more space. The smaller
one is cool too but it's harder to find stuff there although sometimes I'll
find some cool things there. The last time I went there was for RHawtin's
DE9 Cd release party and that was very very nice :) Bla bla bla.... If you
go to Desirable Discs in Dearborn you will find a huge basement FULL of old
records that they are selling for 5 dollars for a bagful. It's
unfiltered...you can find ANYTHING that dates early.
18s music is very wonderful tap into emotion music and this summer weather
makes the whole experience so SUBLIME.
And for the math people out there.....who on earth said that Linear Algebra
was easy. I find it disconcerting, not the least bit gratifying and
extremely time consuming.
Have a wonderful day!

I understand what you mean about wanting to listen to the actual CD. I don't really like mp3s a whole lot anymore and I listen to CDs mostly but I think it was totally worth it downloading and listening to it now. This album brings a lot of elements from a lot of his older tracks that gives it a nostalgic quality. I'm listening to "Extreme Ways" right now and I love the music in the background which has strains of older beats and at the same time the words have the feel of the Animal Rights tracks. <BR>
