So on a mountain-bike forum I was reading, there was wide agreement that
ProLink bike lube from Pro Gold Products http://www.progoldmfr.com/ is great
stuff. I haven't used it.
Anyone have experience with their motorcycle product?
I think they make GPS-enabled deer-whistles too.

Hey Dan,
I use "Canoe Dry Bags" that come in various sizes. They are tough, waterproof and
strap on several at a time. Works great for me.

My cousin dragged a "Honda Trail 90" 9,000 (around the USA) on the rear
wheel (as above) without removing the chain. (I wouldn't do that with my
400!). Moral of the story is that if he can go 9,000 maybe there's no
worries on a short jaunt?

Hey all,
Eric was kind enough to get me hooked into this list. I am seriously
considering a KLR650 as my next bike. However, I have read that the height of
the bike can be a problem. I am 6'1" tall with an inseam of 33". Does anyone
out there have similar measurements and can you give me some insight about how
comfortable you are on the bike?
Thanks...
PS: There are no KLR650s present in any dealerships here in Tucson where I
live. The only way that I can get to see one is by putting down a deposit and
then they will have one brought down from the warehouse in Phoenix. Given
this... is the KLR650 a bike that any of you would buy without seeing it first?
Just checking your enthusiasm... not my stupidity.

Trent,
I just purchased a '99 KLR650 about a month ago for the simple reason that I
am 6'1", about 180lbs. I considered some of the low slung cruisers and
other dual sports as well, but when it came down to it, the KLR was the way
to go for me. I am extremely comfortable on it, and have absolutely no
trouble reaching the ground. It is a great all around bike if you are
looking for a dual sport. I love the way it handles, and it has more than
enough guts to get me in trouble, even with my wife riding on the back! I'm
not one to buy sight unseen, so personally I would be a bit uncomfortable
without at least being able to sit on one and get a feel for it. I bet one
of the listers that lives in Arizona would be more than happy to let you
check theirs out!
Good Luck!

Yeah i"ve seen these racks up close and personal, after the guy lost the bike
in front of my house. They hold the bike down by pulling down on the footpegs
with two "j" hooks and these two must have seen alot of bumpy roads cause
they were sheered off, and the bike ended up upsidedown.
I used to like these racks but i'll wait until they perfect it

When I bought my 600B1 in Jan 86, the stickers on the plasticware lasted
about 5 days before I peeled them off and threw them, and the Uni-Trak
stickers off the swingarm as well.
All that's left is what's on the tank, and it looks better that way.

I have the 400CR version of the rack but shouldve got the 710CR -- the extra
length means reduced load angle, not to mention can carry a much heavier
bike (700 pounds)

I was wondering if anybody knows of any good email group on any of the
Triumph bikes? Preferably a group based in the U.S.
