Stainless steel brake lines fixes that problem. I find the stock pads to be
fine, the problem IMHO is with the weak-walled lines.

Wrong.... If using any of the popular chat programs you can turn
your logger on and it logs everything said. Can be copied and pasted
and emailed to whom ever wants it in Text format.
Just need to set up a Temp. Room for the occasion And let all know

Heated grips probably draw closer to 45 watts. I have both the grips and a
vest and have had no problems after 2000 miles. The KLR seems to handle the
heating electrical load just fine. However, I may consider an "off" switch
for the headlight so I can do some "load management". Overloading the
system can take out the stator.

Hi Andy, I see what you are saying, and it makes sense. But, later when

But if yall want to do that, yall are more than welcome to use the chat room

Just got my April copy of Motorcycle Consumer News and noticed an
article under M/C Bulletins. I have not seen this mentioned on the list
so thought I would pass it on. It seems that on April 5, Kawasaki is
starting a website called "buykawasali.com". It will have all
available Kawasaki accessories listed. It will also have factory parts
fisches which can be viewed. Sounds like a very usable feature.

Subject: (klr650) Re: KLR Gas leak question
Thanks to everyone who explained how to remove the gas tank without leaking
gas. My initial misunderstanding occurred because I checked the archives on
"gas tank removal" before I actually took a close look underneath the tank.
So I didn't realize the petcock was actually attached to the tank, I though
it was connected to the tank with a hose.
I removed the tank yesterday with no problems. I could not find any cracks or
leaks, so I don't know where the gas on the rear corner of the tank is coming
from. It's only about a drop that probably takes all night to accumulate, so
the leak must be minuscule. I'll have the dealer look at it when I take it
for the first service (unless I can muster the courage to do the first
service myself).
Thanks again,

Bogdan:
Yes, there is a little lock spring next to the outboard pad.
I just pulled it off with a needle-nosed pliers. Came right out.
Once the lock spring is out, you pull the pad retaining pin straight out.
There is some tension on the pads from the anti-rattle spring, so pulling
the retaining pin involves a little force- but not much. It just doesn't
slide right out without some pulling. Again, I used a needle-nosed pliers.
Thanks.
