I'm no expert (just a very wet biker dude) and this is just a guess but it's
probably going to be a little difficult to find a quarter-inch drive torques
wrench that reads in inch-pounds....who was it that said they had one, was
it Arne? Where did you buy it?

Maybe Canyonlands management should inform that person that a bunch of
bikes will be there. Odds are that the prospective tenant is not expecting
a herd of dual-sports. Canyonlands would be doing the person a favor, and
we can guarantee the problem will get worse for them as time goes on.

The pins and rollers are lubed by the stuff that is "inside" the O-ring, put
in during assembly of the chain. All that the WD-40 has to do is lube the
O-ring and exposed side plates/rollers. Lubrication of the roller/sprocket
interface is a compromise - If you goo it up with some sticky stuff, all the
dirt sticks to it and you get abrasive wear - not good!. Use something lite
like WD-40 and have a nice clean chain with minimal external abrasive wear.
Or - as Martha Steward suggests: While at the Big Kmart, get 1 qt. used 90wt
gear oil (used oil is free) from the Auto Dept , mix with 2 cups Graphite,
boil for 3 minutes over an open flame being careful not to overheat the
mixture, slow cool and then pour into a used Mason Jar. Tie ribbon around
jar neck and give to HONEY. In addition to being a delightful steak
marinade, it can be used to repair cracks in asphalt, fix roof leaks, makes
an excellent hair setting gel, and wall paper adhesive. While at the Big K,
buy a can of WD-40 for your chain and door knobs. It's a Good Thing.
Knot - restless with too many hobbies
PS: Martha says that those black dots that come from the chain that
splattered all over the back of your nice new Hi-Viz Screamin Yellow Darien
Zoot Suit can be cleaned with a combination of equal parts of Battery Acid,
Draino, Ammonia, and Clorox. All available at the Big K. (Disclaimer:
Ammonia and Clorox - very bad, don't do it. Battery acid and Draino aint to
nice either)

I've read this many times on the list now and still don't understand the
problem. I cut the ties on the wiring harness and pushed it out of the way
re tieing afterward. If you can't get your socket and extension in look
around until you find a socket and extension that will. As I remember I
used quarter inch drive stuff and a quarter to three eights adapter to fit
my torque wrench. No offsets. No swivels. Just straight in to the fastener.
Alan Henderson A13 Iowa always found it better to go straight in
