Have they made a supplement to cover the '96 A10 KLR650? I have the one
that covers to the '95, and was told that there was no supplement for
the '96.
If there is a supplement for the A10, I'd like to sell my supplement for
the A1 thru A9.

I think it is the other way around. The BMW F650 is based on the Pegaso. BMW liked
the Pegaso and made some changes to make it "there own". Is uses a Rotax engine and
is built to BMWs specs by Aprillia.

I read recently in a test article (Rider or Motorcyclist?) on the Pegaso, that
the BMW F650 is based on the Pegaso; and the testers liked the Pegaso a little
better than the F650. They said quality was just as good as the Beemer. They
also said that the Pegaso would be available in the USA in early 99'.

To all that helped me get the bike running-- thanks alot. It was 70+ degrees
here in Mississippi today and after rigging a gallon anti-freeze container for
a temporary fuel tank, I took my first ride in 25 years or so. It was more fun
than I remembered. The bike ran very well. Still need to get the feel of it
better before I get too bold-- didn't get over 50MPH, and it seemed like a
hundred. There is definitely enough power there to temp me to get foolish
too quick-- have to be careful and control my second childhood (or mid-life
crisis as some people like to say). It was so much fun, it almost makes me
want to pop for new stock gas tank (almost).

Mike,
You are correct sir. Also, after reading two reviews on the Pegaso, I`m
not too impressed. Poor suspension, terrible vibration, poor handling,
sluggish engine response,..... need I go on? Almost sounds like another bike
I know.

P.S. I failed to mention, the reviews were last year, on the 97 model. The
reviews I read differ widely from the one described by
Bill in his post. Also, I have a buddy in Germany (American missionary) that
tells me that the Pegaso is not well thought of over there, but the American
KLR650 is.

The Pegaso sure looked styling at the moto show in Long Beach.
They weren't giving test rides though.

Hi y'all,
After the recent buzz around the Scrooge-like application of lubricant to=
the rear suspension at the factory, I decided to check it out on my '96
with 6081 miles. Yikes! I'm only 81 miles past the factory recommended
mileage but this looks like it should have been attended to about 6000
miles ago. Thanks for the heads up.
The factory manuals I have are for the '95 model and I've encountered the=
first significant difference between what's in the book and what's on the=
bike. The front drive chain sprocket on my bike is held on by a 27 mm nu=
t

I ran into two chaps from Britain here in SoCal recently who were riding
brand new Pegaso 650s. The bikes really caught my eye and at first glance,
from a distance, they looked like KLRs. A closer look revealed a beautiful
riding machine of which I'd never seen. Theirs were pitch black with Jesse
panniers and loaded for the long haul (they were headed for Tierra del
Fuego). A very stylish dual sporter IMO and perhaps a cut above the
venerable KLR in this area. Probably too exotic for my pocket book though.
The two riders seemed as intrigued by my KLR as I was by their Italian
mounts!

Hello all,
Bit off the current topic, but I got to ask. I'm looking to get a jet kit
on my 91 KLR with a racing core suppertrapp (8 discs or so) and a K&N
airfilter. First question: Dynojet offers three stages of jet kits, should
I get stage 1, 2, or 3? Second: Any commenents on K&N vs. Dynojet kits, is
one better than the other?

Both kits are the same as far as I know and contain dynojet jets. Stages 1-3 are also
the same kit and refer to which jets you use (in the same kit), how you set the
needle, and whether you modify your airbox...Hope you are choosing the IDS
supertrapp....

Subject: (klr650) Supplement for A1-A9
Yikes!
I never figured on the response I got regarding my old supplement for
the KLR650 A1-A9 models. It seems EVERYONE wants to buy it!
Since I have a '96 A10, which the supplement does NOT cover, and I want
a supplement that DOES cover the A10, here's what I propose...
An even-up trade... my A1-A9 supplement, in very good shape (no grease
or oil splotches; just a little garage floor dust) in exchange for a
supplement that DOES cover my A10 in similar (or better) condition.
The desire here is to help out someone that got nailed the same way I
did; wanted a shop manual, but the dealer didn't have the exact one, and
so settled for the closest available. I'm not really interested in an
outright sale, since I'd rather have what I have than nothing at all.
(Of course, everything has its price... including the KLR itself! <G>)
If you're in (or near) the south SF Bay area, we could meet up and
exchange. Otherwise, we'll use the mail. There's no rush on my part.
Either way, email me. (Please remove the KLR650 from the subject, so it
goes to my inbox, and not the list's box.)

Dynojet makes the K&N jetkit. They are the same kit and the difference
between the stage 1, 2 &3 is the jets you use in the kit. I have them in
stock if you need the jetkit. You would use the stage 1 jets with a stock
air box, use the stage 2 jets with a modified air box and exhaust and use
the stage 3 jets if you have modified the piston and/or cams.

Paul, as far as I know there is only one supplement and you already have it so might
as well hang on to it. Probably the reason people are responding is because the
supplement is on indefinite back order in the U.S.
