However, as part of a first-aid kit that's equipped for things like nosebleeds, there's no better solution than a small cotton plug such as is commonly packaged in fluffy pink boxes.
Your fork seal thing sounded perfectly reasonable to me...
Way back in January, I posted to the list a problem with a very unnerving wobble to my '98 KLR650. Thanks to all of you who responded. Unfortunately due to accepting some contract work plus moving, I was unable to respond. Since today was the first weekend this month we've had no rain I decidec to go for a ride. Thanks to all who responded, I did check the tire pressure. Sure enough, the front tire would not register on my pressure gauge (although by sitting on it it didn't feel as though it needed air), the back tire had only 20 PSI! My first stop was the gas station to fill both up to 22 PSI (according to the manual 21 PSOI should be correct - just wanted that 1 pound extra margin). Took the bike out the same route as I did when I had the wobble. Although I could feel a very small wobble, it wasn't bad enough to cause me great concern (there was a lot of traffic including a couple 18-wheelers). Seems as though the low tire pressure caused the extreme wobble. I'll be watching for the next few rides to ensure I don't have a problem with either tire slowly leaking air.
Thanks again to all you listers who responded to my original problem.
