Gretting to the list!
I've just joined, and I thought I'd post my intro and get that out of the
way!
My name is Nancy, I'm 28, and I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband Ron
and 4 very spoiled cats. We are both computer geeks(Linux/Unix/coder
geeks), and we've both been laid off recently. It looks like Ron may have
found another job, but I'm still looking. Until I find one I'm working as
a bartender at La Nouvelle Justine, a "fetish theme cafe" in the
E.Village. It's a bit touristy, but a lot of fun! If anyone is in
NYC on a tuesday night, feel free to drop in and say hello. :-)
When not in front of the computer, we both sometimes DJ at clubs around
the NYC area, play in a punk/industrial band called "Dorothy Does Drugs",
obsess over Triumph motorcycles and go dancing as often as we can.
I joined this list for a few reason, one I like Men W/O Hats (but I guess
that goes w/o saying), and because I was watching some old videos last
night while at work (Tuesday is 80s/new wave night) and a bunch of got to
talking about some of the things in the videos, and we had a lot of
questions that no one at the bar could answer about them. And seeing as
how I have no day job at the moment, and since I'm stuck inside with a
sinus infection, I thought I'd attempt to get some answers.
Before I start pestering the list with a bunch of questions that you've
heard a million times before I will be reading through the list archives
and FAQs. If I can't find what I need there, I will be asking!

Hi Nancy!
Welcome to the Men Without Hats discussion forum. (a.k.a. Hats Listing)
:)
It's kinda cool to see new enthusiastic MWH fans appear on our little
group every once in a while. Although, these days things are kind of,
well, DEAD around here! 3 years ago, it used to be a thriving and
bustling metropolis with many varied opinions being expressed at a rate
of up to 10 posts per day! But a few heated arguments (centred around a
possible "private Ivan show") kind of increased the air pollution of our
lovely town. People can take things too seriously sometimes. But
that's ancient history! Lately, even though it's a bit of a ghost town
(excuse me, tumble weed rolling by) there are a few interesting things
going on... For example a new MWH album is expected within a couple
months or so! (can't get more exciting than that really) Also, we have
a cover project in the works where several of us here in the list have
attempted to put new spins on some of the classics. Check out a few
examples at: http://www.holdman.com/mwhcovers/archive/
As for myself, my name is Steve (aka Senz), I'm a 36 year old
electronics engineer who wore green spiked hair in the 80's but prefers
squeaky bald nowadays. I heard Safety Dance in 1982 or thereabouts, met
Ivan in 1991, and find his best albums were Rhythm of Youth and Pop Goes
The World. Oh, and I'm about to become a dad in about two weeks! :)
Other than that, hope your stay here is an enjoyable one!

Congrats on becoming a dad! (And Happy Father's Day, BTW!) I'm the
father of a 2-year-old, expecting another one by the end of the year...

I just wanted to say that you've got it all wrong, though. It should
read "Mastered by two spoiled cats"! :-) We have a cat that rules us,
too.
And welcome to the list, Nancy!
Steve
