Well, Daniele...
(Optimistic spin)
"2001: A Safety Odyssey" will be the title of the new Men Without Hats
album to be released on March 21, 2001. The album is all new material
since the boys are currently in the recording studio.
(Pessimistic spin)
Stefan has mentioned that Ivan is thinking about new titles (2001: A
Safety Odyssey) (Internet Killed the Video Star) that might be good for
the collection of old songs he's got somewhere in his closet. Nothing's
been done yet but they had hoped to get together and maybe record a new
song as well. The release date is slated for July 2001 but hey, may be
delayed yet again to sometime after George Lucas releases Star Wars on
DVD.
Personally, I gravitate to the optimistic end of things. :-)
judge for yourself...

Subject: (hats) Anybody Ever Hear of Visible Wind?
A friend of mine is on a Voivod mailing list, and one of the other people
on that list mentioned the band "Visible Wind". My friend told me about
it because the original poster claimed to like all things Men Without
Hats related.
From what I can tell, Visible Wind is a Montreal-based band that got
its start in the late 80's. I don't know whether they're still active
or not.
I found a couple of web pages. Here's what appears to be the official
site: http://www.aei.ca/~vwind/
This page has some samples of their work: http://users.andara.com/~vroy/samples.html
I listened to a few, and liked what I heard. Keyboards are present,
and play a major role, but the music is very guitar-oriented. I haven't
gotten through all the samples, yet ("The Awakening" is now playing),
and I haven't heard any vocals.
I just wanted to pass this along to you, to see if anybody else had heard
of the band. If you know how to get a copy of any of their albums/CDs,
let me know. Thanks!
Happy New Year to all,
Steve
