Hey gang.
IVAN SMILING.....YES SMILING.... see below
The 20 cd's I burned last month are almost history. I still have 3 of them.
CD #10 contains a french interview with Ivan in 1988
Also, as bonus tracks, 2 versions of "the safety dance" karaoke and
2 remixes of OPEN YOUR EYES (RIP ROCK MIX)
Let me know, the price is 10$, EVERYTHING included.
IS HE REALLY SMILING????????
Daniele Rossi reminded me that on the sleeve of CD#10, there is a rare
picture of Ivan and the band smiling. If you are interested to get this
picture, E-mail me, I'll send it to you thru E-mail.
Francis

Subject: (hats) cool to hear a "new" song
After all this talk about uploading music on the Internet for all the world
to steal...oh nevermind... (just kidding!!) it was great to hear a song I
haven't heard before by Men Without Hats. Very slow and a little creepy!
:D I guess it was for the Pop Goes The World album or I assume "In The
21st Century". It mixes perfectly with "Lose My Way". I'd love to hear
more! I'm bookamrking that page :)
>IS HE REALLY SMILING????????

And in the tv guide this week, there's a picture of some actor with such an
angry face making a rather rude obscene gesture. And he looks just like
Ivan! :D
This 10th bootleg is interesting. It's fun to hear all the songs -- and
those not released as singles!-- played on a little documentary/interview.
There's a comment somewhere saying something like (I can't understand
French that well) the band (at the time) is like a cartoon and it's a
bizarre band. I guess it true! :) As I was listening to it, "I Got The
Message" came on and I still can't beleive what a cool song this still is!!
And those aren't karaoke versions of Safety Dance-- they are the
instrumental (you can hear a bit of Ivan's vocals). Ia lways thought
karoake versions were cheap imitations but I was sos urprised to hear the
instrumental of that song. VERY different from the rest of the album
indeed! and that other one...that's the one from Biodome?! I thought it
was just a drum beat? Where did those guitars come from? It's so cool!

I was told that the artist is an MTV VJ named Simone Angel, from an album
called Dance Trax. Can anyone confirm this? I can find no evidence of this
album.

That's Jaymz Bee and the Royal Jelly Orchestra featuring Kyree Vibrant.
It's the first track off their album "shakin' and stirred".
It's a wonderful album of lounge covers with various guest artists taking
their turn, um, paying homage to varous songs from the last few
decades. Safety Dance is one of the highlights, but I'm a little biased.
Here's the track list:
1. Safety Dance
2. Turn Me Loose
3. American Woman
4. You Oughta Know (hilarious - the light, happy, male version!)
5. Run To You
6. Closer to the Heart
7. Takin' Care of Business
8. Superman's Song
9. Spaceship Superstar
10. Born to be Wild
11. Sunglasses at Night
Highly recommended.
Regards,
Toby Elliott

Terrific version, I'd say. It reminds me of Mike Flowers Pops who did a
great cover version of the Oasis hit "Wonderwall".

Subject: (hats) new MWH album in the next few years?
I received a e-mail from Richard Lupien telling me great information
about MWH. Stefan wrote him and said this to Richard in his e-mail.
"As for the adventures of MWH in the future, it is somewhat probable
that we may have a new album in the next millenium. Is that a definite
maybe or what?"
Now that would be cool!
Also Richard has been kind enough to send me some photos of IVAN. I have
put them up on my web page at http://www.holdman.com/mwh/pictures.html
Thanks Richard
