  60. I have noticed many similarities between the Men Without Hats, "Sideways"
  61. video and that of Voivod, "Astronomy Domine".  Since Ivan and Voivod have
  62. been known to work together at some level at some time in the past - the
  63. specifics of which I am not sure - could it be that both of these videos 
  64. were directed by the same person?  Or are these similarities accidental?

  80. The rapper/keyboard player in 1997 is Hugo Bugg.
  81. the videos can not be synced with the cd files because the many of the videos 
  82. have audio mixes specific to the videos.

  85. My guess is it is in reference to Christianity, as the song has to do with 
  86. those people who claim to have it all figured out,  exampled in the video as 
  87. preachers and military men- extreme examples of those who live in a reality 
  88. where everything is rigidly defined. But who knows? Anyone else?

  90. Michel Langevin, the drummer of Voivod, plays the drums on the Sideways 
  91. album. So they could very well have made video similarites on purpose.

  110. Oh yes, I remember that now.  Colin is present in the video before
  111. the soundcheck.  I couldn't imagine how he'd come to look so different
  112. before and during the show!  Thanks for putting me back on track.
  113. Um, so what was Colin's role regarding the shows promoting "The Spell"?

  118. I'll be this isn't the case with all of them.  I think it's still worth
  119. a try.  The question is, what kind of equipment would it take?  I could
  120. give it a shot with my two HiFi VCRs and my MiniDisc deck but...

  132. Before I saw the video, I only the lyrics to ponder.  The lyrics seem
  133. to refer simply to ignorant, rich, teenaged brats who think they know it all.

  135. I find it disturbing when I see people having such negative opinions of
  136. the clergy and the military.  They make a lot more sense to me than people
  137. who think the world is going to pop if North Americans keep eating
  138. hamburgers.

  147. Hmmm... Have you seen the Voivod video for "Astronome Domine"?
  148. The camera swoops around and over and under the drum kit and the band
  149. in much the same way it does in "Sideways" - but to an even greater effect.
  150. It's pretty kewl.  I have it on a videotape of MTV.  (Oh, geez!  I'm really
  151. dating myself now by saying that!  MTV hasn't played videos in years!)
