  18. I'm glad you did - I know many people that when they see that type of
  19. reference they'll run out and buy the book.  Anything that gets more
  20. people reading Cook is a good thing.

  82. Just subscribed to the list and thought I'd take a moment to introduce 
  83. myself.  I first read and enjoyed the first 3 books of the Black Company 
  84. series over 10 (15? it's been a while) years ago.  Recently I was 
  85. delighted to discover through the Sci Fi Book Club that there were a 
  86. number of other Black Company novels available, which I have since 
  87. devoured.  Although the subsequent books were of uneven quality ("Bleak 
  88. Seasons", in particular, seemed quite tedious), I thought the series 
  89. finished on a relatively high note with "Water Sleeps" and "Soldiers Live".
  90.  
  91. I've been a sci fi addict for quite a long time now.  Recently I've been 
  92. reading Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series and Terry Goodkind's "Sword of 
  93. Truth" books.  Other authors I've read extensively include Heinlein, 
  94. Eddings, Clarke, Asimov, Feist, George R. R. Martin, and many others I 
  95. can't recall at the moment.

  97. Anyway, I'm currently working my way through the mail list archives and 
  98. the FAQ and looking forward to new discussions on the list.

  187.     Hello, Jim, and welcome.  You'll find that the list goes through
  188. sporadic quiet periods and then gets busy for a few weeks when someone
  189. says something to spark people's interest.
  190.     I tend to agree with your assessment of the series.  I found
  191. "Bleak Seasons" to be rather tedious and was glad to see it pick up
  192. again in the last couple books.
  193.     Have you read any other Glen Cook stories?
